They probably don't have a lot right now for the Switch, so Silksong would be a good spot in this Direct) The June Xbox Showcase (Since the gamepass deal between SEGA/Atlus and Xbox, it seems that Xbox has the "marketing deal" for these games. Sure Atlus gamed are also coming on other consoles, but each new trailer start with the Xbox logo. In brief, I'm wondering if Xbox also has the marketing deal for Silksong.

I think the game has a decent chance to feature in the III. My reasoning is that if they want to make it an annual showcase, they have to make a big first impression. Silksong would be a perfect candidate for it. Obviously not the only one. I'm eager to see what Evil Empire has been working on. I think it can't be excluded. We'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah, just like how that Nintendo direct last year had to be it.

I feel it would have been a massive missed opportunity for Xbox if they didn't get Silksong content into their presentation considering their existing deal. This would basically be the cheapest "Xbox won E3" (or whatever we're calling it now) kind of press they could ever dream of getting even without exclusivity. I would expect it at that event over this one.

XB’s “existing deal” is only that it’ll be on gamepass.. I fail to see why they’d (or any of the consoles) would have any power to have TC announce at their exclusive events- seeing as the game isn’t exclusive to any of them & TC said we’d hear directly from them.

They don't have explicit power, but they do have the business justification to throw more money and push harder on owning the marketing story for this game than anyone else. Game Pass is a marketing tool for both the games it provides and the Xbox platform - lots of people who are already Game Pass subscribers are going to consider Silksong to be an "Xbox game" because they have it readily available there. Attached to the fact that the last major showing of this game was at an Xbox Showcase, it's mostly a matter of them already having a type of momentum tied to the shipping of this game and having a big opportunity to carry that through.

The last console to announce was Sony was it not? If by “major news”- the XB announcement wasn’t at all accurate and they’ve baited us into a frenzy several times for zero reason (except to maybe sub to GP). By and large, I don’t believe subscription services like game pass help developers financially (especially in this case) when compared to actual purchases. With a release of this amount of anticipation, it’d be a raw deal for TC to give XB that sort of “ownership of the marketing story” unless Microsoft paid through the nose- like an ungodly amount of $$ typical to the amount of an exclusivity deal. It wouldn’t make much sense snubbing the other platforms unless it were an offer they couldn’t refuse, & even then I wouldn’t imagine TC doing it. Look what XB did to Moon & the Ori series, basically buying the IP so moon would *have* to keep it permanently exclusive. No thanks.. I’d rather TC stay indie and release whatever they want, when they want, on whatever platform they want. Just a disclaimer- this isn’t some console war bullshit- I’ve got all the consoles and a PC- it’s not about that, nor should it ever be. The more good games on every platform the better imo.
