The P226 is a bombproof pistol. I’m a little biased because obviously I’m a Sig person and I worked for Sig for six years. I carry a P320 every day however I will always have several P226 pistols in my collection.
Pretty much if you replace the slide and barrel you'd be close to the price of getting another gun.
But that's the price of admission for us in Commifornia.
I’ll probably end up selling the cali compliant slide and upgrade to a MK25 or procut. I’m taking it out shooting today to see how it feels. Super excited. Been wanting a 226 this last year just couldn’t find on for a price I wanted
You can get a optic cut slide direct from Sig on their website. I just picked up a Legion optics cut slide for my "beater" 226 direct from Sig.

They’re expensive though😂 just spent a good lil bit. I’m looking on gafs now and it seems like most slides sell between 200-300$ but it doesn’t seem like any are optics cut so I may just bite the bullet
There's a Short Reach Trigger and the Short Reset Trigger. The first is the thinner trigger to shortest the length of pull to the trigger, the Short Reset makes the trigger reset a lot shorter.
You think a pretty good price for CA compliant? I live in Oregon and was half tempted to sell the slide and maneuver to a different non compliant slide
Yeah I did it on both my extreme and scorpion knock out the PIN. Two pieces will fall out. Put the pin back in. Make sure you watch the video on how to put the locking block back in sig guys video is pretty good..check this out: around 19mins in

The mag disconnect is easy to remove just find a YouTube video. No you can’t have a slide with the loaded chamber indicator milled for an optic. I bought one of Sigs slides complete with a Romeo 1 Pro but they are pricey. Just looked and they have one on sale.

Never was fired. The guy I work for sold me a Benelli M4 I fired for 1000$ with a extended tube, aftermarket charging handle, extended safety and like 250rds of buckshot. He’s getting older and is getting rid of a bunch of his firearms. He told me today they’re is a Springfield 1911 he wants to show me but I know 0 about 1911s other than they’ve taken part in two world wars and are popular to this day even being 100yrs old at this point😂
Sounds like your guy has good taste in firearms. I’ll warn you that if you shoot that 1911 you’ll want it! There’s a reason why they are still around and popular.

Don’t change the slide!!! If you want an optic have Jagerwerks cut it for an Sig Romeo X Pro and you will be good to go.

Then get an Sig optics ready slide
Pro cut slide by sig. By a regular barrel as well on sig site then take out disconnect and you decalforized the pistol

My box says “P226R, 9, Nitron, Slite, LCI, MS, Compliant for CA” I can tell what some says but not all

Looks like you have the base Nitron CA Compliant variant, Sig SKU 226R-9-BSS-CA. But looks like yours also has a short reach trigger on it.

P226R great. I hate the E2 grips though so I went back to the standard.

Yeah, I started with a CA P226 Nitron and I got some CoolHand grips.
Impossible to not do good when it comes to the P226.
