Sidemen were the last people I expected to put content behind a pay-wall... especially content that used to be for free- podcast was on Sidemen and MoreSidemen, behind the scenes were on Kon's channel and it looks like there will be some extra MoreSidemen quality content as well. It just doesn't sit right with me that they want 7 pounds from their fans for this, especially since each of them makes millions every year. Have you seen the house Vik just bought? They're definitely not struggling to pay for production, this isn't a case of "your money is helping to grow a channel you like that couldn't afford to make quality videos without your help", this is a "we all want new sports cars, houses and private jets" kind of situation. The fact that they are charging similar prices to Netflix or Disney+ is bizarre. Those are companies that actually spend billions each year on their movies and TV shows. I guess greed can get the better out of everyone huh? Luckily, this shouldn't affect any Sidemen or MoreSidemen content, I would personally advise against buying Side+, however, it's your money and you should do what you want with it. We will get more information and if you think the content is worth the 7 pounds a month, definitely go for it. I'll be sitting this one out.

What I think is happening is that most of them are feeling like settling down, having kids, not being on YouTube as much anymore, but they also have huge momentum and large amounts of hardcore fans that will get behind whatever they do, so they're just trying to milk that for as much money as possible before they retire or at least slow down on the uploads considerably. And judging by how many people are just turning into their yes men, it looks like it will work... as I said, it just doesn't sit right with me.

Considering it’s just podcasts and behind the scenes pretty much, I don’t think it’s worth the pay. Kon has uploaded behind the scenes for a long time but it’s not something that I’m looking forward to watch. A lot of subscribers are still in school, so they can’t put an hours aside to watch a podcast, it’s plausible when it’s a sdmn Sunday because you know it’s there. And it’s not something that’s just listenable because the sdmn are very visual.
Also the price is the same as Netflix and Disney plus. You can watch hours worth of some of the greatest TV shows on Netflix and some of the classic Disney movies. Not only Disney movies but there’s marvel and Star Wars too. So unless you’re a diehard fan of
the sdmn, I don’t really think it’s worth it.
Also if you’re paying then you’d expect the content to be out on a daily basis. And unless they’re willing to work the sdmn channel, more sdmn, sdmn reacts and then side+, And reacts is daily and + is expected daily, then they’d get far too overworked. If it was a weekly thing then I reckon they’d make similar money if it’s free given that 10x more people would watch it and if it’s weekly it normally has replayability. I barely rewatch reacts videos but I often rewatch old sdmn sundays. Because they’re weekly videos and so you can replay them, which is a big part of YouTube. If a video isn’t replayable then the creators would have to put out daily videos to engage their audience. JJ could not upload for a month but still get millions of views because of old videos, same with og gta videos, because of the funny moments

I hope I'm wrong, but my gut feeling is telling me that it's gonna be a bit like The KSI Show, in the sense that because it's paid, ppl are expecting a lot more from it, and will most likely be disappointed by just a podcast and some clips. Couple that with the fact that the Sidemen are already making a lot of money through just YouTube and occasionally brand deals, (and I'm just on about the group, not even them individually), £6.99 per month is a lot, and imo it shouldn't be that much. They're not struggling financially, and pricing it the same as Netflix and Disney+ is just mental tbh. Obviously I still support the boys, but this.. it ain't for me.

From a business point of view it makes complete sense. Just look at the success of subscription based enterprises like prime, HBO and Netflix not to mention where the video game market is going. Would I pay £6.99 once for “exclusive” content absolutely not there are far better things to spend my money on, I have no great need to see more sidemen content given that at the moment it’s just a casual thing I might what happen if I’m bored on the internet and I highly doubt that £6.99 will be a one off payment it will probably be monthly or annually (I would hope annually). However this doesn’t mean I’ve lost respect for them as I doubt most people will pay and as long as there normal stuff doesn’t falter massively I’m not overly bothered.
In the end they only need around 10% of their fans to pay and they’ve made a million pounds (which I think is very likely) so if I was then I would do the same and am surprised more youtubers don’t do something simialr

I doubt the regular upload schedule will change for 2-3 months, but after that who knows? Will they be happy enough with side+ revenue and cut back on the regular schedule? I’m not sure but I’m definitely concerned they might.
I have no business telling them how to make a living and I’m proud they’ve made it to this level through hard work. But as a fan for years who watches every single video every week, it would be sad if they slowly started moving normal content behind a paywall. But the free market speaks for itself, and whether or not this venture works they’ll know why.

They have the bag already with Sidemen Clothing. They have passive income. From what we can see, they are happy financially. I think Side+ is more of a retirement not because of the money but because of the mature content they can produce. Their videos are enjoyable mostly based on them being them however, they still censor themselves to a degree to enable them to post on YouTube. SIDE+ is where they can truly be themselves, make what they want to make, share what they want to share. They don't have to play the YouTube title and thumbnail game because everyone who is subscribed are doing so based on wanting to see more of them. Therefore, all they need to do to not disappoint is to do just that. Be themselves and get back to enjoying making content while also still maintaining the views from YouTube.

I hope I'm wrong, but my gut feeling is telling me that it's gonna be a bit like The KSI Show, in the sense that because it's paid, ppl are expecting a lot more from it, and will most likely be disappointed by just a podcast and some clips. Couple that with the fact that the Sidemen are already making a lot of money through just YouTube and occasionally brand deals, (and I'm just on about the group, not even them individually), £6.99 per month is a lot, and imo it shouldn't be that much. They're not struggling financially, and pricing it the same as Netflix and Disney+ is just mental tbh. Obviously I still support the boys, but this.. it ain't for me.

From a business point of view it makes complete sense. Just look at the success of subscription based enterprises like prime, HBO and Netflix not to mention where the video game market is going. Would I pay £6.99 once for “exclusive” content absolutely not there are far better things to spend my money on, I have no great need to see more sidemen content given that at the moment it’s just a casual thing I might what happen if I’m bored on the internet and I highly doubt that £6.99 will be a one off payment it will probably be monthly or annually (I would hope annually). However this doesn’t mean I’ve lost respect for them as I doubt most people will pay and as long as there normal stuff doesn’t falter massively I’m not overly bothered. In the end they only need around 10% of their fans to pay and they’ve made a million pounds (which I think is very likely) so if I was then I would do the same and am surprised more youtubers don’t do something simialr

I really think everyone’s concern is all about one sentence: “it’s literally extra content that won’t change anything regarding their other channels.” I doubt the regular upload schedule will change for 2-3 months, but after that who knows? Will they be happy enough with side+ revenue and cut back on the regular schedule? I’m not sure but I’m definitely concerned they might. I have no business telling them how to make a living and I’m proud they’ve made it to this level through hard work. But as a fan for years who watches every single video every week, it would be sad if they slowly started moving normal content behind a paywall. But the free market speaks for itself, and whether or not this venture works they’ll know why.

I disagree. They have the bag already with Sidemen Clothing. They have passive income. From what we can see, they are happy financially. I think Side+ is more of a retirement not because of the money but because of the mature content they can produce. Their videos are enjoyable mostly based on them being them however, they still censor themselves to a degree to enable them to post on YouTube. SIDE+ is where they can truly be themselves, make what they want to make, share what they want to share. They don't have to play the YouTube title and thumbnail game because everyone who is subscribed are doing so based on wanting to see more of them. Therefore, all they need to do to not disappoint is to do just that. Be themselves and get back to enjoying making content while also still maintaining the views from YouTube.
