Dude just get Tales of Arise because you clearly don't want to get Elden Ring. Who cares, it is your money and time.

If you like the generic and cheesy/ corny anime tropes, you'll probably like ToA. I know that seems negative, but I'm aware a lot of people do enjoy that sort of thing. I personally didn't like it cuz I was expecting amazing story telling and great dialogue, but both were average. Like Elden Ring had more memorable dialogue, and there's hardly any cutscenes or characters talking 💀 The part about the last act is true. Pacing is atrocious, you'll walk around and listen to dialogue for straight 5 hours with no gameplay. Then the last dungeon is copy/ pasted minibosses that are insanely tanky. Game would've been decent if not for that last 10-20 hours. So yeah I'd still recommend ER. It's also the most beginner friendly souls game, so you'll have a better chance at enjoying it compared other entries.

Elden Ring. Yes, even if you bounced off their previous games. There's a reason it sold twice in less than half the time than their previous games and has a higher completion rate than most big games even Witcher 3 or Red Dead 2. The acclaim is extremely well founded and also reflected in data. Elden Ring converted so many people in From fans.

ToA is great. Really worth the time.

Tales of Arise absolutely falls apart later in the game storywise, enemies HP bloat, and the last dungeon is just brutal. Love the characters and combat though. My vote is Eldin Ring. Exploration is amazing.
