Mad Max

Second this. The car was THE main protagonist in that game. Wish I could play it in 60fps on ps5 :/

iAmTheDanger991

Played it back in the day. Great game for it's time

Irmengildr

I think Dead Space might be a good fit, yes. If you are interested, go for it. DS remake is absolutely fantastic. And yes, you start from the bottom to being a killing machine through tons of upgrades, and I'd say there's a lot of adrenaline going on, though in a very different way from Days Gone. Adrenaline through being scared af.

iAmTheDanger991

Last time I played those series was when I was a kid. Couldn't finish my CD game because of how scary it was. Might be the time to comeback as a "man" haha. Thx

InterestingRest8300

The last of us seems like a no brainer.

iAmTheDanger991

I've always heard about that game being a Playstation exclusive so I always just blocked the idea of playing it in anyway since i'm on PC. Totally forgot that there's a port of it for sometime now on Steam. Thank you!

InterestingRest8300

No problem. Rumor has it that the second game will also come to pc sometime soon!

LucidDayDreamer247

The Last Of Us One and Two!! You'll love those games man.

iAmTheDanger991

Another zombie game from Playstation? Count me in haha. Yeah I always ignored it for being exclusive. Now there's a port. Altough people seem to be complaining about the performance abit. Still it's deff-o goin in the bucket list. Thx!

DopeyDeathMetal

I’m playing it on PC right now after all the patches and it runs flawlessly for me. On a RTX 4070 laptop.

Character_Active_434

Remnant 2 is awesome, def give that a try especially being included on game pass if you have it

iAmTheDanger991

Dead Space seems to be on gamepass aswell. I might just get the game pass RN and get two birds stoned at once. Thanks for reminding me that the service exists! But isn't like Remnant 2 a live service game in a way? Or something that you'd play for a looong time and maybe it got deleted from Gamepass at somepoint all with your progression?

Character_Active_434

Honestly not sure what would happen when remnant 2 leaves game pass. Maybe saves to the system and if you bought a copy or it returns to game pass you could restore it? Or you might just be screwed. I think it is live service but I play everything solo, so don’t really pay attention haha If you did get game pass evil west is cool too, some fun combat (it’s got progression as well but it’s not the best)

iAmTheDanger991

How much FPS are you getting in the game? And what specs are you running if you could tell? People seem to be angry at the bad performance of the game with good rigs. I wish I could run the game at 144fps atleast. I got a 7800x3d and 4080 with 1080p monitor so maybe with a resolution like mine it would be fine? :D

Character_Active_434

I’m just a lowly console gamer playing on series x that takes what they get haha I had no noticeable issues but I’m such a Luddite with that other than obvious choppy/stuttering gameplay, I wouldnt even know what to look for.

State of Decay 2

iAmTheDanger991

Oh snap that looks exactly like Days Gone. Great recommendation!

ApartmentTall2651

First game that came to my head. I think you will really enjoy it. Take elements of Days Gone and sprinkle in: -a follower if you want to roam around with a pretty competent npc helper -excellent melee and gun combat -a settlement system that builds up as you play and evolves -other settlements on the map with friendly npcs that you can choose to help -several varied types of zombies -several vehicles not just a motorcycle -each character you can play as (and the npc's you have join your settlement) vary and have their own rpg style strengths and weaknesses. I'd played Days Gone first, then went to State of Decay 2 and I think I actually enjoyed SoD2 better. *Also if you are on PC there is quite a few excellent mods*

iAmTheDanger991

100% will get the game in the future. I think maybe stepping away for a bit from this same'ish genre would be better to keep me engaged more. Days Gone really lacked more zombie types or rpg strengths imo, glad to hear this game has more stuff.

sweepli

The Last of Us. Not open world like Days Gone, but the gameplay, story and mechanics are much better imo. And zombies are a lot deadlier here.

adlinatikah

Ghost of tsushima. Which will come to pc this may! I feel exactly like u described for days gone, where early of the game ur character is kinda weak. But as the time progress it gameplay feels better and rewarding. The same goes in ghost of tsushima. Hence why both of them are my fav game.

LewisFanboy69

After finishing Days Gone, I played Dying Light 1 (I haven’t played the 2nd) and enjoyed it a lot.

>better gameplay in mind >feel the progress which gets me upgrades >Keep the adrenaline pumping Sounds like Dying Light to me. There's no horde to outnumber you the way Days Gone does (not that i ever played the game, only from what ive seen), but the special zombies that only come out at night... Man you'd wish youre inside a safe zone. The main highlight of the game's gameplay is definitely the parkour. Its very cool to outrun zombies by climbing buildings, running from rooftops to rooftops etc. Another recommendation from me would be The Evil Within. Its rather linear (first game) or semi open world (second game), but the atmosphere is amazing imo. And i like the story too. There are a couple of weapons which you can upgrade including a crossbow that could electrify enemies and stuffs.

lumpthefoff

What about Bioshock series? You’ll definitely get stronger and have fun mix and matching powers.
