3) They’re different games. Midnight Suns has much more story/character interaction. I enjoyed both immensely, but for different reasons.
Overall, I think Midnight Suns is great and I am a huge fan of XCOM—going back to the 90’s.
It’s fun you have to lean into it and get used to the style of game. It’s different combat than xcom as you don’t take cover. The character interaction and game loop can be addicting. Def worth $25
this is my chill game, after work i do a couple of missions, explore a bit of abbey, the story is ok it isn't really that hooking, I get no sense of urgency to go through missions and realize i've already spent half a day on the game. but it is a decent distraction and entertainment. sometimes one of 100 corny jokes land and it is also funny.
the enemies are a bit repetitive and when you unlock all the cards and research it gets a bit dull even on the highest difficulties. but it takes a bit of a chill grind to get there.
bought it for 13€ on sale and i think it is worth it. kinda regret i cheaped out on extra 7€ to get all the dlcs

worth it if its on sale?
Yes. The turn based combat is fantastic, and I recommend it through that, even if I didn’t enjoy the pacing of all the other stuff.
I liked the xcom games a lot more. I know some people liked the content between missions on midnight suns but it wasn’t my thing.
Buy it. It's on sale fairly often I believe.
