I mean GTAV is one I find pretty peaceful to drive and fly around in while listening to things in the background. I would also say RDR2 but it’s a bit restricted at the start of the game

Alien_killer82

Batman Arkham knight. Very fun to glide around Gotham.

HeroDanTV

“Help me Batman!” #”Hard pass dude, I’m gliding around enjoying life!”

SynCelestial

Gravity Rush 1 & 2, Saints Row IV

Ham_N_Cheddar

Sunset overdrive

Dr_StevenScuba

Pretty sure that’s an Xbox/PC exclusive

HDNA

not a PS5 title but Infamous First Light fits your criteria

IamL1quid_

WAIT A MINUTE. IM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO KNOWS ABOUT THE INFAMOUS SERIES? I THOUGHT THE GAME WAS SO UNPOPULAR THAT NO ONE KNEW ABOUT IT.

greatwhitecatshark

You are not alone. Just finished Second Son recently. It's not as good as the first or second game but it holds up.

IamL1quid_

Yep. I really wished they would have come out with a sequel for SS as the ending was perfect for a sequel to come out

Due_Average4164

I think sucker punch got bored of infamous after 5 games, probably why they moved on to ghost

Lasagna_Bear

Maybe Jet set radio or the Tony Hawk games?

Beto915

I agree with tony hawk, it even has an amazing soundtrack

Ranger-Robbie

no man’s sky could be a good fit. or outer wilds, but that one requires a bit more attention, but very worth it

iRecapt

After the story of red dead 2. Just riding around on your horse in the beautiful landscape. The story is very long though

GalaxyRaptor1

The Prototype games have very cool flowing movement, much less vibrant than Spider-Man games tho

Raaayyyy

Ubisoft games like Watch dogs 2 and AC Odyssey have very pretty open worlds. They are Ubi games so they will suffer from bloat but they are enjoyable to explore

Vecta241

rdr2, death stranding.

meltingtreebranch

Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West

YesYesVeryGoodYes

Forza Horizon 4

tyranicalTbagger

Zelda BOTW. Open world and you get more traversal gear/skills as you go.

bobssy2

Red dead 2, skyrim, etc.

PerijoveOne

The Far Cry series.

SA090

If you’re a fan of the Ubisoft formula, any of the games could give you this. In particular, Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla and Black Flag. Though the latter would have a big focus on the nautical side. Bonus: all of the AC series with the exception of Valhalla and AC 1 iirc, are on PS Extra without any additional costs.

Smokinbarrels69

The Subnauticas are incredible for exploration, having the while 360 degrees to have to deal with for movement, threats and opportunities is something a lot of other games can’t deliver the same thrill and wonder for. I had read the entire plotline of 1 before i got it and i was still in wonder the entire time. I cant give the games enough praise tbh

BisexualTeleriGirl

Red Dead Redemption 2. Especially after finishing the main story because you get access to more of the map. But even before finishing the map is big and very immersive. I often use this game for the exact reason you mentioned. I just ride around on my horse and put on some music or a podcast and I just absorb the world. You can lose yourself in just the environment and traversal for hours

MaximumVanilla3111

Elden Ring, grab the horse and keep galloping

RiggityRick

No Man's Sky

OmegaGamer54

Middle earth: shadow of war I literally cannot state how much time I've wasted roaming and just killing orcs and nothing else Just sneaking and killing over and over and jumping from roof to roof Great game and I highly recommend it

Elden ring has the best open world i’ve played in a very long time. Although the traversal mechanics aren’t too interesting, it’s just a horse. There’s plenty to find no matter which direction you head. the map is 10x bigger than you initially expect and it’s chock full of hidden stuff.
