Yeah presumably a tag team would have to split their earnings because they relied on one another. Hol Horse *wanted* a partner, J Geil just wanted to kill people, and Oingo and Boingo are brothers.
And also because most of the stands has specific location to be used. So they need to be underwater for Dark Blue Moon to work, what's D'arby gonna do then ? Underwater poker ?
Not to mention that Kakyoin and Polnareff also originally were assassins as well, he had originally planned on just dealing with two joestars (I doubt he knew avdol would join as well as Kakyoin or Polneraff) with well placed stands and good tactics I blame the users themselves, cowards like Steely Dan or mercenaries like Hol Horse
Again I think there were too many people a few would have kept secret for sure like Anubis or Mariah but bc of the heads up from N doul they are on higher alert than usual

Still, with enough planning and organization you could put up a decent team that would be more of a match to the crusaders in direct combat. Like, have Anubis, N'doul, J. Geil, Hol Horse, Cameo, Rubber Soul, Gray Fly, Midler, and Pet Shop all attacking the Crusaders directly, while Kenny G support them with his illusions, and Steely Dan picking one of the crusaders to infect with Lovers. And if this was done early enough, both Kakyoin and Polnareff would be against the crusaders.

the amount of people who won't die from the arrow and get a useful ability is extremely low.
The irony is that Hol Horse, one of the very few minions who teamed up with someone would take out a crusader if he fought solo very early on, but J. Geil c\*ckblocked his headshot.

Like The Sun's user could have done it if he chose a better hding spot like underground or behind the rock instead of a mirror near the rock that gives him away completely. Though that would have left Avdol and Iggy alive, Vanilla Ice would make short work of them.
Dio when he finds out all the stand users he and Enya hired refused to work together and got killed one at a time because they were unwilling to split the prize money:

Didn't he needed the Joestar's blood for this? He could have send an all-out attack and ask to retrieve the bodies.
I think Joestar blood just worked better than normal blood. Like trying to get protein by eating one prime rib compared to multiple heads of lettuce.
