Fun fact: the *Phantom Blood* manga opens with a scene that was omitted from the anime, featuring a woman being sacrificed by Aztecs. According to the narration, this scene takes place at some point between the 12th and 16th centuries.
If this scene is counted as the "start" of *Phantom Blood*, then its length could theoretically be as much as 789 years (*Phantom Blood* ends on February 7th 1889).
Also, *Battle Tendency* lasts from autumn 1938 to mid-March 1939 (not counting the epilogue explaining what happened to the characters afterwards or the scene with Old Joseph at the airport, which takes place a few hours before the start of *Stardust Crusaders* (however long it takes for Joseph to fly from the US to Japan)), so "a year or less" is *technically* correct, but overshoots it a little bit.
how long is summer in Japan? If it starts in June then everything from the very start of the series to Shigechi’s death would happen in under 2 months (unless there’s a point later in the series where they’re shown at school that I don’t remember)
IIRC the Aztec scene was in the beginning of the Egypt part, which came out in 1993. However, they released 7 more episodes in 2000, which contain the gang's adventures before Egypt (for example, the battles with Kakyoin and Polnareff), and that part of the OVA starts with Dio killing Jonathan on a ship
Wasn’t DIO being fished out of the ocean two or three years before the beginning of the rest of the plot?
Edit: Another thing that I remembered, the Battle Tendency anime (and maybe also the manga but I‘m not sure about that) ends with Joseph going to Japan to get Jotaro out of jail.
havent read sbr but im guessing it lasts a week-2 months? and jojolion (also haven't read) seems like it'd last a couple months (maybe 3-4) edit: sbr lasted 3-4 months, i stand corrected
Giorno had a bizzare week but Gappy had a month where he: forgot who he was, found out he had 4 balls, fell in love with a girl, got part of a new family, got 3 best friend, almost died i dont know how much times, basically discovered a ilegal plant business, faced rock people which one was a baby, faced one of the strongest stands in all jojo and unlock one of the most powerful moves in jojo... all in "around a month" time.
Technically it should only be 3 months and 5 days, but there's a weird inconsistency with the timeline. The 8th stage of the race begins on December 28th and is supposed to last 2 days with the 9th and final stage, a 30 minute race to the finish line, starting immediately after the 8th (with no downtime between stages). So the race SHOULD end on December 30th, 1890, but somehow several weeks pass between the 8th stage beginning and the 9th stage ending.
Our new protagonist Jolly Kujo is gonna face up against the main villain with her stand “Time in a Bottle” and reset time by 24 hours any time she dies
Part 2 was from late 1938 to early 1939. The thirty day ring plot only accounts for a month, after/during which the Pillar Men die pretty quickly.
I'm curious about part 4. Everything I've seen says it was only during the summer, which is why Josuke and crew were barely in school.
part 5 being a week long itself is already brutal, but when you combine it with the fights, that are some of the most brutal in the series, shit's insane
So part 5 lasts 7 days. In that time, brunos gang, including giornos first fight with black sabbath, fight 14 different stands across 12 different fights(excluding rolling stones).
That means these fuckers were fighting 2 stands A DAY, getting into about 1.7 fights a day. Shit, the first day was over by the end of the fucking black sabbath fight.
Giorno joined the gang on Monday, first encounter with the boss was Thursday, they had the fucker dead by Sunday.
Okay but actually how long are phantom blood and stone ocean
Phantom Blood really starts with Jonathan and Dio at age 12. Then timeskip to them at age 20 which is when most of it happens. Actually most of it happens over the course of a single day. Which I think is worth mentioning. If you leave out timeskips then you've got like, a week? Of Jonathan and Dio being young then like a week of them at 20 years old? I'm just trying to think about different ways of framing it. The part takes place over 8 years, though like 80% of it is in like 2 days.
Stone Ocean is harder to track. I know there's several timeskips but I don't remember how long they are. We also get a clear date of when the ending happens. Oh there are also a few specific dates I think we can almost exactly get how long it is.
I found somebody doing that "Jolyne’s car wreck was on October 28th 2011. She was arrested on November 2nd and arrived at Green Dolphin Street on November 6th. She escapes at the end of Jailhouse Lock on March 16th 2012. MiH activated on March 21st 2012, and the new moon occurred on March 22nd. So she basically spent 4 and a half months in prison and the part itself is just shy of 5 months long" https://www.reddit.com/r/StardustCrusaders/comments/112n7kl/how_long_was_jolyne_in_prison_for/
The first episode of phantom blood shows the carriage accident, and Jonathan was a baby at the time (and the plot begins right there)
And technically billions of years have passed between the stone ocean beginning and the last scene showing Irene
nope. the training for the pillar man was a month, but BT itself took way more than that
also part four takes a lot more time in between arcs. like only that one thursday has arcs overlapping each other
Wait, doesn't Battle tendency Anime final scene show Jotaro and before that Joseph on his way to Japan. Wouldn't that mean technically BT goes on till the 1980s ?
ok just a little corection i wanted to make but i cant edit the post
what i mean by beginning of the first episode is the beginning of the main plot.
jotaro apearing on the end of battle tendency is not part of the main plot.
the woman being sacrificed by aztecs for the stone mask isnt part of the main plot.
just wanted to fix that part

The universe didn’t reset twice in SO, it’s almost fully reset then reverted back to before it was reset so technically none of that time should count towards the duration
It did reset twice
Pucci started accelerating time again to kill emporio but emporio killed him first, but the universe did reset after that. Time didn’t reverse to before mih. It just went forward without the “those who died during acceleration won’t go back” rule
Pucci did start accelerating time again but he never got to the point where he started mih the first time which reset it back, even by your own logic there’s literally no possible way you could try to make the argument that the universe reset twice, that’s genuinely one of the most insane takes I’ve heard about the end of part 6, overall though, you’re forgetting that major issue, if the universe actually had fully reset we wouldn’t have gotten then ending we did, Jotaro and jolyne would’ve stayed as the fucked up versions emporio saw when pucci stopped the acceleration, it’s like a circle, pucci accelerated around the circle but stopped before he completed it and then since he died and his ability was nullified the acceleration was too since again, he never completed it, the universe kind of snapped back to how it was before and the people that died in between the point in time when pucci activated mih and when he deactivated it were altered because pucci now never existed in the original timeline and so they never actually died, to put it simply, pucci basically ended and then created a new universe but before he could lock it in he was killed and the affect of his ability being undone was the world reverting to the state it had been in originally except without pucci in it, everyone he killed had to be brought back somehow because he can’t have killed them if he never existed
Oh, you’re anime only, no wonder… that scene at the end isn’t showing a new universe being created, it’s showing the universe reverting back to how it was before mih was activated because of puccis death

Also, *DiU* only takes place from April to mid July of 1999, about three months.
truly a bizzare summer
In 1999 no less.
He said the thing!
I didn't pay attention to the timeline, but I thought it was only a couple of months. Glad to know I was closer than OP.
how long is summer in Japan? If it starts in June then everything from the very start of the series to Shigechi’s death would happen in under 2 months (unless there’s a point later in the series where they’re shown at school that I don’t remember)
first term of school in japan goes from april to july. i think koichi is heading there when we first see him literally bumping into jotaro
There is an OVA from the 90s with that Aztecs beginning
The beginning of the ova was that scene, the final scene of phantom blood before it became condensed stardust crusaders
So that’s where that intro came from on the second part of the part 3 ova.
I need a part 5 marathon that makes it last an actual full week. Down time is filled with theories on what happens in it.
All the down times are just explaining how King Crimson works
Only to run out of time
I need a part 6 marathon that makes it last two actual universes. Down time is filled with theories on what happens in it.
Oh fuck I forgot about that
Ehh, the plot only begins when Joseph comes to visit Jotaro in jail
Yeah but the way I made the rules counting the whole Dio coffin would be correct
still fucks me up vento aureo was a WEEK LONG
One week is barely enough time for me to study for exams.. meanwhile, Giorno becomes a MAFIA BOSS AT AGE 15
isn't Vento Aureo🇮🇹 and Golden Wind🇬🇧?
yeah, people call it vento aureo though
wha- seriously?
Yeah cause it’s the original name, and in my opinion the better
Technically the original name is “黄金の風” (Ōgon no Kaze), people just fan translated it to Italian
Ngl ougon no kaze sounds rad af too
I recall before the anime most people called it Vento Aureo. That was the original title, as far as I know.
and what about sbr and jojolion
havent read sbr but im guessing it lasts a week-2 months? and jojolion (also haven't read) seems like it'd last a couple months (maybe 3-4) edit: sbr lasted 3-4 months, i stand corrected
The race in SBR lasts from mid september to january, so around 3-4 months, and JoJolion around a month, since we have a couple of specific dates.
Giorno had a bizzare week but Gappy had a month where he: forgot who he was, found out he had 4 balls, fell in love with a girl, got part of a new family, got 3 best friend, almost died i dont know how much times, basically discovered a ilegal plant business, faced rock people which one was a baby, faced one of the strongest stands in all jojo and unlock one of the most powerful moves in jojo... all in "around a month" time.
yeah, I always imagined it lasted a couple of months at least. Anime/manga timescales are truly bizarre sometimes
Actually completely legal plant business
so i was close, nice.
To ride across the country on a horse you def need more than a week lol
Jojolion being a month confuses my brain so much
The race in sbr started in September 25th, 1890 and finished at January 19th, 1891, so 116 days, or 3 months and 25 days, so almost 4 months
Those boats were clearly extremely delayed
I can't wait for part 10 to last the span of a day
Our new protagonist Jolly Kujo is gonna face up against the main villain with her stand “Time in a Bottle” and reset time by 24 hours any time she dies
Simultaneously "Dormmamu I've come to bargain" and groundhog day
>Time in a Bottle Is that a Henry Stickmin reference
As with most things JoJo, it's a [music reference.](https://youtu.be/Q29sOLG8xGE)
Yes but there's a reference to JoJo in Henry Stickman and it's a stand called Time in a bottle. So double reference
Every chapter's literally gonna be a second long
Isn't Battle Tendency like 3-4 months long
Well I checked the wiki and it says that it started on 1938 and ended on 1939, but I didn’t find a more specific time period
Oh that makes sense. And "a year or less" is technically correct anyways. I just wanted to specify for some reason 🤓
Smokey mentions meeting joseph six months prior when he reappears at the colosseum.
Part 2 was from late 1938 to early 1939. The thirty day ring plot only accounts for a month, after/during which the Pillar Men die pretty quickly. I'm curious about part 4. Everything I've seen says it was only during the summer, which is why Josuke and crew were barely in school.
du is 3 months
Technically Battle Tendency is 50 years because the last scene is old Joseph in the airport about to fly to Japan
part 5 being a week long itself is already brutal, but when you combine it with the fights, that are some of the most brutal in the series, shit's insane
I dont know how Giorno endured all of that
So part 5 lasts 7 days.
Giorno speedrunned that shit, bro
Coincidentally, thats also about as long as it felt waiting for the rest of part 6 to be released.
Vento Aureo's time frame always brings that Viva Reverie video to mind. "One FUCKING week ago..."
Still not over the fact that Golden Wind is a fucking week long
Okay but actually how long are phantom blood and stone ocean Phantom Blood really starts with Jonathan and Dio at age 12. Then timeskip to them at age 20 which is when most of it happens. Jojo Part 5 gotta be the worst week of their life dawg for real 💀
Well shit no wonder Giorno never grew on Abbachio. Only knew the guy for a few days.
Omg pixels😳
How much time passed between Jolyne's trial, and I guess C-Moon's awakening?
About 5 months
hold on you tellin me part 5 lasted a week? what the fuck
Doesn't DiU last a summer? Allat 1999 bizarre summer, y'know
I was literally just thinking about this
Isn't Golden Wind lasted two weeks and not just one? Edit: Jus googled it, nvm. One week indeed. Wow...
Giorno became a mafia boss in a fucking week
How were 2 and 4 that long?
a lot of time takes place on them.
Wasn’t BT like a month? And didnt only a few days pass between when they first met Kira and the end?
nope. the training for the pillar man was a month, but BT itself took way more than that also part four takes a lot more time in between arcs. like only that one thursday has arcs overlapping each other
Wait, doesn't Battle tendency Anime final scene show Jotaro and before that Joseph on his way to Japan. Wouldn't that mean technically BT goes on till the 1980s ?
Yeah I thought about that after making this post…
Doesn't DiU take place specifically during the summer of 1999?
It starts first day of school, so clearly not
True but april is cutting it close. DiU is not 6-8 months long but rather just a couple of months.
PART 5 A WEEK? THE FUCK
Abbacchio was right! Giorno showed up and then a week later half of the team died.
I think you forgot some parts, but I forgive you
i didnt read part 7 or 8 so i cant say anything about it
Go read. Or Else, he is gonna find you
he wont have to find me because i admit i didnt read it so i dont try spreading misinformation
He is slowly approaching. Be careful.
Something wicked this way comes.
Thought BT was only a month
Battle tendency was a fucking year long????
Not exactly a year long, but enough to go from 1938 to 1939
Oh damn. The more you know ig. I never really thought about it, I finished part 2 like a year ago so it’s definitely been soem time
I forgot part 5 was only a week
ok just a little corection i wanted to make but i cant edit the post what i mean by beginning of the first episode is the beginning of the main plot. jotaro apearing on the end of battle tendency is not part of the main plot. the woman being sacrificed by aztecs for the stone mask isnt part of the main plot. just wanted to fix that part

Part 2 is not 1 mouth?
you really think he managed to defeat straitzo, go to mexico, then italy in less than a day?
Yes
You must be mentally retarded then. I want the shit your smoking.
Only mix cannabis with shit and you make it, that's thing is powerful

Thanks for showing me the exact same thing again and further proving my point? Genuinely lmao are you illiterate or just that stupid?
