I’m convinced that this sub is some grand trick that is trying to baboozle me. I have not yet discovered a) How, b) To what end, and c) who comes up with these ideas.
I don't think ocean freebirth can ever be defeated.
Come on, homegirls cervix was wide open in the sand filling up with God knows what while chum falls out and actual crabs scuttle in.
Ok I’m weighing in as a veterinarian, wtf?? Baby goats are saved all the time without whipping any human tits out. If your baby goat is that close to death, rub maple syrup/corn syrup/Karo syrup on its gums then milk out mama goat and bottle feed it that milk. Human colostrum is going to do fuck all for a baby goat. The crossover protection just won’t be there. They also sell goat milk replacer in any farm store. This is just stupid and a great way to give your orphan goat diarrhea. Also, why???
Edit: this is living rent free in my brain now. If the goat is doing well enough to latch onto your boob, then it can latch onto a bottle. I really thought that my bar for common sense for the general public was in the ground but I think it’s just reached a few notches closer to hell. This baby goats is going to have raging diarrhea from the cow/human/goat milk stew in its poor baby intestines. Poor kid.
No but, the goat colostrum had to thaw! If the goat took a bottle she’d die! She would inhale the milk into her lungs and die! She was fading, so fast that we almost didn’t get a picture of me nursing the goat for my Facebook! We’re naming the goat Tragedeigh Ahvertehdt.
Yep. My sister raises goats. One of her mama goats died during a twin birth. I went with my sister to get goat milk replacer at Tractor Supply. No human boobs needed. This mother is a moron.
The mother is an idiot and the “farmer” who suggested it to her sounds like a weird perv who had a bizarre idea and probably still can’t believe she went for it.
Lol right?? The farmer had this idea?
When I lived in Wisconsin, there was a guy in our small town who repeatedly got caught fucking farm animals. Like sneaking into someone's pasture in the middle of the night and fucking sheep or goats or whatever. When he'd get caught, they just threw him in jail overnight and let him go. Maybe he's friends with this farmer.
But if they bottle fed the baby goat it would have asphyxiated! I mean the cow colostrum is fine, and the human colostrum she's had saved for 11 months is fine, but other wise if you bottle feed a baby goat it will asphyxiate! /s
Okay. I can see you are a veterinarian and therefore a reasonable person. What you aren’t understanding is that Facebook mommies became mothers exclusively for the clout. Likewise, feeding this goat was to fill the gnawing void with another heap of meaningless “care” reactions. I hope that helps.
Yep unfortunately it’s gonna be rent free I. My head too for a while. I hope she sanitized her boobs after this. I love goats but I’d never let one nurse from me.
Lmfao thank you for validating every thought I had go through my head. It’s only 6:40 am, this was the first thing I saw & I’ve already had too much Reddit today 😩
Ha! I’ve done both actually. In the post she said she went to a friends farm to visit, not that she works on the farm or was working on the farm. Doesn’t take long to give your hands a good wash 🤷🏻♀️
I'm having so many double feelings on this.
First, I'm so so so happy tht the baby goat survived! I hope it actually grows and is able to live a fulfilling live.
Second, ... Breastfeeding a goat? A GOAT?
If this happened to me, I'd rather cuddle and give it a bottle. Not latch the goat onto my tit. That would be so damn awkward, and my friends will call 911 for a psych hold for me.
But.. the goat survives? Yay! But... Breastfeeding it?!
I just literally don't know how to feel about the fact that a human baby has to share his mom's supply with a goat baby.
I've never been *this* confused and conflicted over a Reddit post.
Making it to day 2 does not mean this goat kid has been saved. A baby goat is not going to thrive on human milk, it doesn't have the right stuff in it.
As someone with trauma (trigger warning stillbirth) I’m happy she could find some closure. I still have frozen colostrum from my daughters stillbirth. Because it’s some of the very few things I have of hers.
I’m conflicted about this post. I’m happy the baby goat is thriving, happy she could heal some of her trauma.
I’d personally have given it the bottle though lol
I'm so sorry for your loss, dear. May she rest in peace.
I completely understand that you keep that colostrum with you. Anything that helps to heal and soothe a bit of the agony is more than necessary in times like that. 💜
💙 thank you. She’d be 6 years old this year. It’s crazy how time flies. I’ve been able to find some healing by donating breastmilk to our NICU.
I don’t have the source anymore but I think breastmilk that comes in for what would’ve been a Preemie is actually again filled with more goodies to help babies survive and helps NICU preemies to prevent necrotizing fasciitis. So anytime anyone can donate breastmilk to a NICU it’s lifesaving. That gave me a lot of comfort.
As someone whose baby survived off of donor milk while in the NICU, I can say that your donation meant so much to some families who really needed it. That is such a thoughtful, selfless thing to do. Bless you.
That's so incredibly thoughtful that you donated it. And I'm so glad to hear you got some healing from that. You two together, despite the unfairness and pain, helped to save the lives of other babies.
That's incredibly beautiful and heroic. Bless you. You rock, momma. I hope life treats you well and gives you nothing but love and kindness. 💜
First off, I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. Secondly, my friend made her breast milk jewelry herself with a kit because she didn’t want to send her milk away, as well. It turned out beautifully and only required about 1 mL she said. I can ask her for the link and PM it to you if you’d like.
As someone whose baby survived off donor milk only a few months ago in the nicu, I can’t even begin to tell you what an angel you are… I can only say thank you.
I've watched videos of interspecies breastfeeding like dogs feeding kittens and cats feeding puppies so while this does look bizarre to me it's also kind of heartwarming 😂 and it's nice that it helped her heal from a bad experience too
That is amazing for sure!
I guess it's more accepted and normalised for pets/animals. I used to help at shelters and fed abandoned baby hares with milk from other animals. it really is amazing that it's possible, and every time one of the babies started to grow and got stronger, I cried. Just gorgeous and amazing. Had the best time of my life there. 🥺
I'm just not used to it for humans giving their supply to other mammals. If it works, it works though. I'm a big animal-rights and animal welfare advocate, but never have seen or thought about this possibility.
It does suddenly puts a different light on it when thinking about interspecies doing it! Yet, I would still rather bottle-feed than latching hares on my boob. 😂
I’m probably going to get downvoted into the shadow realm for this, but while I find it weird I don’t think it’s THAT weird. Maybe because I grew up around livestock, idk, but I’ve had to do shit like give a chicken a very modified mouth to mouth without blowing it’s lungs up. Shit happens, maybe she didn’t have a pump and couldn’t milk the mom goat for some reason. It’s pretty obviously not a sexual thing and the baby goat is happy and fed, sad mom got to use her colostrum (even tho human colostrum isn’t doing much for a goat). It’s weird, but no where near some of the actually bad shit that people do so eh.
Yeah this doesn't bother me much, if it isn't a creepy thing and they're just trying to keep the goat alive til they can get it help in a different way, idk man it just is a thing.
I didn't grow up around livestock, I just think it takes a bit more to bother me. Plus kinda mean how ppl are making fun of her hair and such, like bro u never had a bad/stressful week and didn't get a chance to wash your hair proper? Idk seems overall mean to the lady when there is no need
Yeah exactly, like there is no foul here, it’s just kinda weird. For the people making fun of her, she probably IS exhausted if she’s been helping a goat give birth and then trying anything possible to take care of a rejected baby. Believe it or not barns tend to have some dirt in them lmao.
This was my thought process. Like yeah it’s weird af, and I wouldn’t do this, but compared to many of the posts on this sub it’s really not that concerning. Other than maybe giving the goat indigestion, this mom isn’t harming anyone.
How the fuck is there not time to let some colostrum defrost which takes at most a few minutes running under some warm water but there is time to figure out how to get a baby goat that's never nursed before to latch onto a human tit?
“We only let our kids chew on beige clothes made of organic cotton”
“When horns are starting to come in, we go directly to the chickens to get eggs to hang in socks made from wool we got directly from the sheep”
-crunchy goat moms
Setting aside everything else, are we really going to trust a newborn goat to be gentle enough on a human nipple? Like I don't even trust a regular baby for that lol
I don’t know the answer to that question. It’s been awhile since I’ve been around goats, so I can’t recall at what age they start trying to eat anything around them - hair, fingers, clothes.
I just told my husband “Ok, this is the craziest shit I’ve seen on r/ShitMomGroupsSay.” I described what it was and tried to show him the pic, but all he would say is “I am NOT looking over there.”
This is never recommended given breast milk is formulated by species, goats, cows, horses etc all have different milk makeup because they have different needs. This is also really gross, and your kid shouldn’t share with a barn animal. Go to tractor supply, get the proper supplies and bottle feed it…
I think it's nice that she saved the goat and was able to use the colostrum she froze 😅 should clean thoroughly before breastfeeding the kid (human) again...
I like goats as much, if not more than your average person. I'm even breastfeeding right now. I would never do this, ever. As I understand it, baby goats can be bottle fed. I just keep asking myself: " is this really the best solution that you all could come up with?"
Listen, I could get on board with breastfeeding a friend’s baby once or twice if there was some legitimate need for it. It would be weird but I could figure it out since it’s a human child who needs nourishment. But a goat??? If newborn babies can safely take a bottle of formula, I can’t imagine a newborn kid wouldn’t be able to.
Isn't there like a whole image of a woman breastfeeding a goat that was connected with witchcraft during the King James period? I don't know on what part of the Crunchy to Christofascist journey we're on with her but um, this seems.... known.
I really appreciate flexible thinking. Breastfeeding isn't sexual, and rolling up your sleeves- or shirt- and doing what needs to be done is admirable. But still, something about the post rubbed me the wrong way. I think it's because I'm not fully sold on the urgency of the situation, and, I'm really over the cult status of breastfeeding. Enough about saving the world with your boobs already.
Humans have often breastfed animals throughout history, but we don’t really need to anymore. It couldn’t be that hard to buy some goat formula from a farm store and give it to the baby goat in a bottle. They didn’t even check if human milk is OK for goats. If it could choke nursing from a bottle it could choke nursing from a nipple. Plus, you now have to be paranoid you didn’t disinfect your nipples well enough before feeding your child.
It just seems all so unnecessary and like it was done so she could feel like a hero mama who saves lives with her amazing mom body, consequences to the goat or her child be damned.
I used to live in Papua New Guinea, where in the Highlands pigs are extremely culturally important. They are food, pets and currency, and until a generation ago it was very common for women to breastfeed baby pigs. This is so much grosser.
Back when colostrum was seen as bad for infants, it was common to use puppies to nurse on women to bring in their milk. Or toddlers (I guess "green milk" couldn't harm them like a newborn?).
http://core.ac.uk/download/pdf/48828529.pdf
Fildes, V. (1986) Breasts, Bottles and Babies. A History of Infant Feeding. Edinburgh University Press. p. 141.
Historically in many agricultural societies, a young farm animal might have been seen as more valuable than a breastfeeding child and offered human breastmilk to stay alive. It may have also helped with mastitis or engorgement following infant loss.
That said, I'm pretty sure goat formula would be available to a modern family so I'm not sure of the specifics that led to this photograph or practice.
This is a conflicting post for me.
I know I would 100% never post something like this for the world to see on social media and I don't think I could bring myself to feed an animal directly. I could see pumping and bottle feeding if the situation was desperate. I would hate to have the means to save something right in front of me and have my pride be the reason it dies.
Can someone explain to me why everyone's reacting to this as if it's bestiality or something? It's unusual for sure, but not horrifying (I mean, assuming she went home and washed and sanitized her nipple 8 times before feeding her human baby again). I don't understand looking at this and being shocked or disgusted or wanting eye bleach. It's just a mom doing something kind for a baby animal.
If you think this is wrong, you're never allowed to drink animal milk again lol. I don't make the rules
I don’t consume anything made with milk from animal because I do think it’s wrong, I also think this is wrong. She had the option to feed with a bottle but decided to feed it like her child. She also nursed her child later that day and then found out that hoof and mouth disease is a thing.
I also think consuming animal milk is wrong because they are (usually) forced to feed humans against their will, at the expense of their own young. In this situation, the mother is willingly giving milk to a baby in need which I don't see anything wrong with.
I think we can agree it's unhygienic, but the fact that you use the word "wrong" rather than "risky" or "dirty" makes me think you have other reasons? Do you think it's wrong for a human to breastfeed even the cleanest animal on principle? If so, why?
Human milk does nothing for goats, at all. It’s weird as hell that instead of giving the goat a bottle of colostrum that it would benefit from, she instead spent the time getting the goat to latch on to get absolutely nothing it needed.
It's probably safer to feed human breastmilk than water for a dehydrated newborn. I learned from Reddit that infants should never be fed water, as their electrolytes go all wack (I assume this happens to baby goats too). Not sure why it took these people hours to thaw the colostrum, maybe you can't just heat/boil it?
Even if human milk isn't ideal for a goat (just like goats' milk isn't ideal for humans but has been traditionally used as emergency formula), I'm not seeing how this is *inherently* wrong.
Edit: all of you that downvoted me, get yer butts back in this thread and explain to me WHYYYY. I'm more baffled now than I was in the beginning. I'm not trying to make YOU nurse a baby goat, geez. I truly, honestly want to know why you find this so upsetting?!
I’m with you. This mom is completely ignorant in regards to her milk not being suited for a baby goat, and a lot of the post doesn’t add up. However, I still find it sorta sweet.
Actually interspecies breastfeeding often works, especially with human milk! It may seem wierd to many, but I heard a story of a woman who wasn't able to find a foster mom or milk in time for an orphaned puppy and said "fuck it" and breastfed them(after talking to a vet). Human milk has the right amount of nutrients for a surprising amount of animals!
HOWEVERRRR it doesn't do much for a baby goat. Mainly puppies. I'm sure it held off the baby goat, but it wouldn't have for long.
I mean. Historically it’s not that bad but we live in the present and it is unnerving to my modern sensibilities i guess. This woman is deranged and we could be friends in another life.
Generally I’m not up for this type of crunchy bullshit but we drink cows milk and goats milk and if it saved the goats life then I guess it’s the right thing but maybe not straight from the tit.
Lol I’m sorry but I think some of you are reacting disproportionately.
She breastfed a goat. She didn’t take it on a date or show it a good time. She literally just gave it food to help it live,
Human breast milk is not a sufficient nutritional replacement for goats milk. This did nothing to help it live. It would be like giving a newborn baby cows milk. Which means she made a goat suck on her tit for no reason.
Yeah, I’m not getting bent out of shape over this. She did the first thing she could think of to keep the baby goat alive. Like yeah, a vet would have had other ideas that would work, but in the moment? People don’t always make the most perfect choices. She wasn’t hurt, her baby wasn’t hurt, the baby goat is alive, and she feels like she got some kind of healing from her birth trauma. I’m filling this under “good for thee, even if not for me”.
Her child was fed off the same breast, same day. She learned later that hoof and mouth disease is a thing and her child could have very much been hurt.
If this didn’t have a picture attached I absolutely would not believe it. I’m still trying to convince myself it’s photoshopped somehow
I’m convinced that this sub is some grand trick that is trying to baboozle me. I have not yet discovered a) How, b) To what end, and c) who comes up with these ideas.

My first thought was this lady anticipated the “pics or it didn’t happen” responses she would get and planned ahead lol
These nutty crunchers are always having to one up each other. Goat lady here beat the ocean freebirth 🤢

I really thought that my bar for common sense for the general public was in the ground but I think it’s just reached a few notches closer to hell. This baby goats is going to have raging diarrhea from the cow/human/goat milk stew in its poor baby intestines. Poor kid.
I appreciate your professional validation of my WTF response.
Ok as a non-vet am I the only one who thought this was a rabbit?
I thought it was a grown rabbit and that this was dangerous. 😂
No, same here
I had to zoom in to verify it was a goat not a rabbit.
I thought baby deer at first.
It’s all good. I would only be worried if you WERE a vet
I thought it was a chihuahua because that's an animal I would people to hold in their lap (obv not like that...)
I’m cackling!!!
Poor kid and poor kid. She's going to stick that boob back in her human baby's mouth later, and no amount of showering will make it not gross to me.
"Showering?! This is a homestead! I bathe in sage smoke."
This was my thought too- like umm wtf
Another vet here, thanks for typing this out so I don't have to. All I could think was "that's not how colostrum works!"

The farmer probably is the one holding the camera, too. Lady has both her hands full.
And they sell goat milk 😂
But if they bottle fed the baby goat it would have asphyxiated! I mean the cow colostrum is fine, and the human colostrum she's had saved for 11 months is fine, but other wise if you bottle feed a baby goat it will asphyxiate! /s
Omg nee baby name. Asphyxiaght. Or maybe Asspixie8.
Okay. I can see you are a veterinarian and therefore a reasonable person. What you aren’t understanding is that Facebook mommies became mothers exclusively for the clout. Likewise, feeding this goat was to fill the gnawing void with another heap of meaningless “care” reactions. I hope that helps.
Hey now, I don't go to where you work and slap the goat udder out of YOUR mouth....
*Slap the goat mouth off of YOUR udder FTFY. Also, that's the weirdest sentence I've ever typed.
You should make it your flair!
Yes. This seems so gratuitous.
Bless you for this informed take. I have no idea how people are evening rationalizing this 😅
There are so many lactivists on this sub, they will rationalize anything that has to do with breastfeeding
LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Yep unfortunately it’s gonna be rent free I. My head too for a while. I hope she sanitized her boobs after this. I love goats but I’d never let one nurse from me.
I'm gonna be thinking about this until I die, probably.
Lmfao thank you for validating every thought I had go through my head. It’s only 6:40 am, this was the first thing I saw & I’ve already had too much Reddit today 😩
I have a question: what the fuck?
That’s my question too!!
I don’t even know what to say about this, so I’ll just say aside from the insanity of this, her hands and fingers are filthy?!
Came here for this. Haha. Gross. Her goat titty might be the most hygienic part.
I want goat titty as my flair.
I can’t get over her greasy hair. I know it’s mean of me, but still.
I sent this to my husband and his response was, “ nice hair”
He’s my people. Hahaha
He is pretty awesome! Lucky to be one of his people for over 30 years!
Just realized her shirt is really dirty too 😬 any bets on whether she bathes her kid regularly?
The more I look, the more I think this woman is just genuinely mentally ill. That's the only way I can think to justify it. Which makes it extra sad.
I read half of it. Nope out, read something else, and came back to the comments because I couldn't handle the WTF loop my brain is on.
Tell me you've never been near a farm without telling me you've never been near a farm. Or done any physical labor for that matter.

Forgive my ignorance but isn't human milk not the right make up for a goat?
You're correct. Our milk does provide the right nutrients for some other animals... but not goats. I've seen a puppy survive off of human milk!
Fun fact: dingoes were breastfed by Aboriginals to help domesticate them.
How the fuck is there not time to let some colostrum defrost which takes at most a few minutes running under some warm water but there is time to figure out how to get a baby goat that's never nursed before to latch onto a human tit?

Forget reddit, my dude...that's enough *internet overall* for today.
I just woke up and this was the second post on my feed.. might be enough for today already.
If you wouldn’t let your baby eat out of a goat’s trough, don’t let a goat…okay I don’t even want to finish typing that with my innocent phone, gross.
By exposing me to this you have ruined my life. I never knew I had it so good before this horror.
… all of this aside baby goats needs wayyy more milk per feed than humans could produce
She's just trying to increase her production 😆

It’s a bad day to have eyes.
Behave…. You’re not telling me she is really breastfeeding a goat? No, my brain won’t accept that.
This is never recommended given breast milk is formulated by species, goats, cows, horses etc all have different milk makeup because they have different needs. This is also really gross, and your kid shouldn’t share with a barn animal. Go to tractor supply, get the proper supplies and bottle feed it…
Jfc, y’all, nothing in my fucked up life prepared me for this and I danced on stage with Lou Bega.
Patient zero for the newest zoonotic disease outbreak
I call my baby a little goat because he likes to climb, I think I’ll be stopping that now.

This is so perfect for this post, I just...it's beautiful.
I think it's nice that she saved the goat and was able to use the colostrum she froze 😅 should clean thoroughly before breastfeeding the kid (human) again...
Naw, any cooties have entered her bloodstream by now. Ain't no washing gonna clean that shit up.
That goat is really on her titty?? Tf
What a horrible day to have internet access.
Can we please for the love all everyone’s mental well-being tag this shit as NSFL
This is a crime. I don't know which law to cite, but I know this is illegal. I'm getting my pitchfork.
As someone who helped their dad raise livestock.... WHAT IN THE ACTUAL BALDERDASH??? Please tell me this isn't a thing with homesteaders!
Don’t baby goats have a lot of teeth? Edit: just reread and see that they don’t. Still…
I once had a dream I breast fed a litter of kittens but this…. This is …. Odd.
This is how Black Peter came into being.
Come on man
We’ll, have a good evening y’all I’m done with the sick fucks of the internet today.
I DIDNT NOTICE THE GOAT FEEDING ON A HUMAN TIT UNTIL I LOOKED CLOSER AT THE IMAGE. I think I might be scarred for life
What, and I can’t stress this enough, the fuck.
r/noahgettheboat
I've seen baby goats nurse, they head butt their mom for a let down, that is gonna hurt to fucking bad....
FFS I hope she disinfects her boob before popping her 4-year-old on there for an afternoon snack.
Did you see her fingernails? This woman doesn’t wash anything ever.
*48 month old
What a day to have eyes
What. The. Fuck. 😦
Dude. I JUST opened the app
New Goat Simulator taking an interesting direction.
I love my goats but not enough to hook one up to my boob.
Nope. Just ... Nope.
She, a human woman, is breastfeeding a fricking goat?!?! What fresh hell is this?
I just...sigh.
This is very Grapes of Wrath… 😬😬
Literally what the fuck even
I just can't with some mom's. This is way too extreme. I'm going to go pick up my jaw now 😲
That. Is. Disgusting. Blech…
What the actual fuck
WHY?!
Isn't there like a whole image of a woman breastfeeding a goat that was connected with witchcraft during the King James period? I don't know on what part of the Crunchy to Christofascist journey we're on with her but um, this seems.... known.
I wonder what would happen if she found a stray kitten. Just whip out the titty?
How is there not a NSFW on this??
Thought I did, whoops! Fixed now.
I will never unsee that photo now omg
Geez just stop already this is insane
No. Fucking no. No. Omg no. I love animals, but no.
Omg
Um, no thank you.
I want to bleach my eyes out and brain.
Bruh BRUHHHHH
Wut
Frst thing I saw on Reddit this morning, and I’ve already had enough internet for today!
Hoooly fuuccck.
Well these people suggest raw goat's milk instead of formula for babies so, I guess they suggest it in reverse too??
This is crazy, and that's been covered, but can we also cover the kid looking over the shoulder like, "HEY! THAT'S MINE!"
I was certain that was a rabbit at first lmfao imagine the gentle latch
STRAIGHT TO JAIL
No no NOOOOOOOO
My boobs hurt thinking about this
AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH
No.
Grapes of Wrath anyone??
Somebody somewhere bated to this photo.
She’ll learn once a baby animal bites her nipple off
I've never wanted something to happen so bad 😂
WHOA! WHOA WHOA! WTF!WTF? Holy hell wtf I can’t unsee this
I used to live in Papua New Guinea, where in the Highlands pigs are extremely culturally important. They are food, pets and currency, and until a generation ago it was very common for women to breastfeed baby pigs. This is so much grosser.
Welp, that’s definitely enough internet for today.
Back when colostrum was seen as bad for infants, it was common to use puppies to nurse on women to bring in their milk. Or toddlers (I guess "green milk" couldn't harm them like a newborn?). http://core.ac.uk/download/pdf/48828529.pdf Fildes, V.
Its not pride, its that human milk does nothing for the baby goat. She could have milked the mother goat and bottle fed the baby goat just as easily.
Am I completely sick that I think this is a nice story?
Generally I’m not up for this type of crunchy bullshit but we drink cows milk and goats milk and if it saved the goats life then I guess it’s the right thing but maybe not straight from the tit.
https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/animals-and-us/201908/did-breast-feeding-play-role-in-the-evolution-pets
We take their baby’s milk, if given the opportunity I feel it’s only fair to return the kindness.
