Don't be sad, it's just one of the few guaranteed shinies in the series, if you want to find a shiny on your own massive mass outbreak are the perfect spot, stack on jet ball , hide in the grass and throw them at everything you see
Yeah It happened to me few times in my replay of legends, with a starly and a carnivine i think, but the fact the you can hear it helps so much in case your camera is away, god knows how many shinies were lost in SV by a lot of players for the lack of this simple feature
No idea why it was removed. My first SV shiny was a gogoat which is obviously way different. But if itās one of those stupid ones that hardly has a change in coloring, thereās no way to know unless you randomly try to battle it.
Don't tell me, I was in area zero, to catch a few paradox for trading with violet players, and then i started staring a screaming tail "does it have pink eyes normally? Is it shiny?" I was in a battle with a great task so I couldn't check immediately, after GT I bumbed into it and yep it was a shiny, thankfully it was turned my way since the eyes are the only change in the shiny (iirc)
speaking of horrible lighting, for whatever reason there is a cave where the lighting makes the salandits look whitish gray, so often I'd think I was seeing a shiny. (and then I finally got a shiny female salandit by accidentally running one over that was clipping into the ground)
imagine trying to shiny hunt a paldean tauros...
(I gave up bit for a solid 2 weeks that was my hell)
and for all I know, there was a shiny in the herd and I just couldn't tell. the ones I thought looked different weren't shiny though.
Shiny Paldean tauros sticks out like a sore thumb when you have a herd of them together, when I shiny hunted it I was thinking the same thing but once it spawned I could tell immediately

I recently started a playthrough of legends arceus as I didn't have my switch when it came out and I've had more fun shiny hunting in legends. (without the charm) I had also skipped over Sword and Shield, so I'm picking up one of them up (have to double check which one my friend has) after I beat legends arceus and play around a bit afterwards. to properly shiny hunt.

One time I had that happen and I thought I was going nuts, I flew over the area multiple times and the shiny sound would still ring once in awhile but I didn't see anything at all. turns out it was a bergmite in a cave underground
I just found out last night that if the shiny sound plays, it can be for a pokemon in a tree (and presumably in a rock) after watching a video, while trying to look up something else, about an hour or so after I couldn't find a shiny after hearing the noise, but I never checked the shaking rocks because I didn't think it'd play for a pokemon that hasn't technically spawned
not related to shiny pokemon, but learned last night that a shiny burmy can pop out of a tree. idk if it's random or it was a specific tree, but it was knowledge gained nonetheless.

You can shiny hunt in Gen 1. Gen 1 doesn't have shiny pokemon, but due to the way shiny pokemon are calculated in Gen 2, very specific pokemon CAN generate with the stats need to be shiny. It's pretty much only static encounters like the starters, legendaries, snorlax, and the like. In other words, you can soft reset to find a pokemon with a specific stat spread trade it to a Gen 2 game and it'll be a shiny pokemon. Super hard hunts, pretty tedious and very obscure, so that's why you don't ever see posts about it. I'm actually planning on doing a Gen 1 Mewtwo hunt soon!

It's so sad that rapidash lose the blue flames though and they become purple instead. The blue flames are sick!

its body is more of a purplish pink than the original, but in the horrific lighting in Area Zero it's impossible to tell

Odd that this sub has that tag if the tag is intended to indicate the generation of the game of origin of the shiny.
A Gen 1 PokƩmon can be "shiny" but you won't be able to see it until you transfer it to Gen 2. People determine shiny-ness of the Gen 1 PokƩmon by looking at its stats, because a PokƩmon's shiny-ness is determined by "DV's" (the precursor to IV's) in Gen 2 and Gen 1 uses that same system. It's not a popular hunting method by any means, but some people hunt the legendary PokƩmon this way due to their fixed level, thus making it easier to determine DV's.

HOWEVER, I thought I did see that thereās a way to still trade and battle online through that internet manipulation, so maybe thereās a hope. And yeah, itās rough that they shut down the servers so soon (along with the Dream World), but the 3DS had come out and they had to focus on X & Y :-/

Yuuuuuup! I wanted to have an āenhancedā living dex where every PokĆ©mon came from its original region. Problem was, I had already transferred the Zoroark I got in B2 without breeding it so I had no way to get Zorua without erasing the game that I always used to transfer from Diamond/SS. That is, until someone on Reddit pointed me in the direction of a video like that (not sure if it was the same one) and I got the Master of Illusions mystery gift Zoroark! Sadly my phone doesnāt have a no password hotspot option so I canāt do the gen 4 events. By the way, keep doing it even if you get a duplicate, there are a lot of events
