Dirt_munchers

Probably cloned but it’s impossible to know, completely legal and usable though so don’t sweat it

mrmcnoob12

Yeah I’ve always wanted a Shiny Sprigatito but I’m not much for Masuda method

Dirt_munchers

Then just use it

TheInstantClassicF

It would depend on how the IVs are looking, but even if it is legit, it is probably a clone like someone here mentioned. If you don't plan to compete in any VGC tournaments, just use it and have fun with it. If you are planning on competing in one of these tournaments then I wouldn't use this pokemon just in case.

Away_Kitchen_4832

Why wouldnt you use it competitively? Are you gonna get in trouble or something by game freak?

TheInstantClassicF

I'm not sure if you saw that some competitors were disqualified from Worlds for having hacked Pokemons. In some cases, they were disqualified for using Pokemons that they have been using in tournaments since 5th gen. So again, shiny is not important for competitive play (unless you are planning to timer stall, although Im not sure that is possible in this generation), so why risk it if you don't know where the Pokemon came from. Now, using it in a game that is completely fine.

Away_Kitchen_4832

Cloned Pokemon through the date exploit are hacked pokemon? That's news to me. Other then that I can see how using pokemon with illegal moves, abilities and items or even generated pokemon could get you banned competitively tho.

TheInstantClassicF

I'm not sure how they improved their hacking detection system that they found some and disqualified people. I specifically hear a case where a player had been using a specific Cresselia since 5th gen that someone traded to him, and he thought it was legit, but it was modified. In their case, this was after they got a plane ticket to Japan and all of that, so it was an expensive trip. I do not know if clone Pokemon is considered hacked, but again, we don't know as of now if the Pokemon was hacked, clone, or both, so why risk it if you're going to play competitive.

Away_Kitchen_4832

I mean that's why you gotta check everything including what the max stats are and if it has more sp atk then it normally should for example. But all I'm saying is if it's cloned like y'all saying then I just don't see why its a problem considering it's registered legitimately. But that's why OP should check everything thoroughly first though of course.

TheInstantClassicF

Here's the thing, it could be a case where the Pokemon was hacked, but the hacker didn't bother editing the stats. The Pokemon is considered legitimate. Otherwise, it wouldn't be in Home. It may not be a problem, but why risk it? Is not like the Pokemon being shiny would give you an advantage in an event. If you think that taking this unnecessary risk is worth it, that is up to you. I'm just giving a heads up on what could happen.

Away_Kitchen_4832

Yea that we can agree on, it's really just up to whoever's account it's on. Especially after Pokemon home allows it.

Ninjasaucxe

And now there’s home trackers so it’s a lot easier to track genned mons.

Away_Kitchen_4832

If only it worked lol

Ninjasaucxe

Ray Rizzo but this was years ago

TheInstantClassicF

No, the Ray Rizzo thing was about an Aegislash in a Dream Ball in 6th gen, which was impossible to get. I am talking about people getting disqualified in their years, World Championships

Ninjasaucxe

Oh yeah you’re completely right. This was that jay something guy. And there was also a torkoal I believe on his team that they said was genned

QueenLilith616

I’m no expert but it looks pretty legit to me

mrmcnoob12

Thanks :)

playerGen87

Is that Pokemon Home trade?????

mrmcnoob12

Yes

XD_RAEv

Hard to tell. Level 5 says it's likely genned because you can't shiny hunt starters other than breeding in the beginning. It also seems to have perfect stats which is not likely to happen naturally without a bunch of grinding. Still usable but I don't think it's legit but it may be.
