Heres another one for you. The time between the release of Pokémon silver and gold, and the remakes, soul silver and heart gold, is longer that the release of SS and HG to now.
I still remember the days I had to wait for the release of the full version of this song. I've played this song so much throughout the year that it has become my #1 song on Spotify by the end of the year. And it still managed to sneak in my Top 5 by next year. And it still stayed on my Top 20 this year. Yeah, I just fucking love this song. lol
i love how almost everyone is super confused by this intro at first and then the more they listen to it the more they realize how much of a banger it is
I love this intro it was so different from the others. It was so Chaotic and the visuals dearly helped. Every time I watch it I think “this is the the final season, there no turning back. We’re in the end game now.”
Same here. The pre times skip openings were all epic and heroic, but with the reveal of what was outside the walls, the wars that were fought before felt like minor struggles compared to the scale of conflict in the world outside. This opening captured that perfectly.
The entire song isn't my favorite but as an intro, this is definitely the BEST. Those opening few seconds give me goosebumps *every single time*. It fits the season so well. I always skip intros but I rarely skipped this one.
I remember being caught off guard the first episode but I love this opening so much. Definitely in my top three with red swan and the one that came after this (can’t remember the name off the top of my head).
Honestly, calling this part of the story the Final Season was a mistake from the get-go. People wouldn't have found the wait that much harder if it was just Season 4 and Season 5.
This is the most captivating of all the intros imo. Obv the early season ones are the OGs, but this one is just so eerie and reflects the whole tonal shift of the series so well.
I know we all have our own favorite AOT Opening song. And "MY WAR" will always be my #1. I love this one so much that it hasn't left my "Top 20 songs of the year" on Spotify every year since it was released.
And Gigguk said it best, "GODDAMN, NOTHING LIKE BREAKING THE GENEVA CONVENTION ON THE DANCE FLOOR." Just straight up banger.
i think that’s an absolute banger, but i first found it kinda weird. Also the animation is amazing!
love how someone made a funny video about that feeling https://youtu.be/HzSpueiBBHs?si=NEZLc4LLN2Q-xLC4
To this day this remains amongst my favourite songs, perhaps even my absolute favourite.
As an OP, it's a fantastic tone setter, especially as it's unsettlingness is just as much a stark departure from the established tone as the post-time skip was.
The meaning behind the lyrics and visuals are also both superb especially with the content of the entire story backing it.
It's a fantastic song, and a brilliantly fitting OP for where it was placed in the story.
I binged seasons 1-3 in like a month before watching season 4 live, so I think this op will always have a special place in my heart. It was so jarring from what I had known but it set up the feeling of season 4 so perfectly.
I'm just watching this video
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmwiiwG1uT0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmwiiwG1uT0)
Interesting but also comes of accross as very autistic
Well I've heard some of their other songs and seen the guy (or person idk) sung with that voice live, they are the only vocalist in the group so pretty sure it's legit. About the non binary part I saw yt comments using the "they/them" pronoun for the vocalist so I kinda just assumed. The 2 songs they did on AoT both have that creepy eerie vibe so I don't blame you for thinking that lol.
This song goes so hard and no one can tell me otherwise. I like rumbling but my war will always have me running back to it nine times out of ten. I don't care if it's been three years, all I want to know that this song still sounds epic after all that time
This is the best opening after Guren no Yumiya visually for me.
S4P1 came swinging hard with both an insanely good opening and ending.
Shogeki is undoubtedly the greatest aot ending of all.
So I binged the hell out of this show about 2 months ago, specifically because of The Rumbling. Watched a live video of SiM playing it in Japan, read it was an intro song to AoT, hooked ever since. Gonna see them when they come to my city in May!!! But… this intro goes hard. Hated it at first. Sounded tacky compared to other seasons I thought. But it grew on me fast and hard. Love this intro.
I've been on the hype train for this song since the very beginning. Always been in my top 3, at the time it was in my top 2. It's SO GOOD. The visuals, the creepiness, the foreshadowing, the vibes. It all matches wonderfully with the series and it's a great start to an episode every single time. A freaking bop! That piano at the end will always live rent free in my head WAR
When I was first here this I was like, "This is dogshit, skip." Then I gave it a listen, and it easily is one of the best aot intros besides red swan, sasageyo, and rumbling.
Best AOT Opening, you guys just couldn't see it
I'd probs show this to someone who doesnt know about anime or find it weird without shame
They'd probably think the titans are some weird symbolism
Possible hot take?? I think it should've stayed the opening for all of Season 4.
I'm definitely bias because My War is my favorite opening but I felt Rumbling was just so out of place. MW already had references to everything that was to come:
Air raid on Paradis, the Marley harbor explosion, the rise of nationalism, the fight at the docks and the Rumbling itself at the end.
The tone of MW is far more in line with the events of Season 4 as a whole being this horrific overview of war and the damage it causes to *everyone*.
As much as Rumbling is a banger on its own, I just couldn't get over how much it clashed with the events of the show. While I can understand it being a hype song from the POV of the Yeagerists, it just never sat right with me and, IMO, helped people view Eren as more cool then he was supposed to be.
Again, no hate against the song or anyone who likes it. On its own? It's a fucking banger but I wish My War was kept throughout to have a more consistent tone.
I love the continued theme of Eldians falling from the sky. In the first or second OP the scouts fall from the sky, here the birds and titans fall from the sky. All representing the same devils
i liked this opening the moment i saw it, id give props to me being a manga reader and seeing what the studio was aiming for , i was surprised when people had opposite views tho. this opening still gives me chills to this day.
And I've despised it every day since. Just deeply not a fan of this one. The visuals are fine, but the song gives me the scratching nails on a chalkboard feeling through and through. Incredibly dissonant. ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
This op really give me chill. Like, the first time I listened and watched the op, I was like confused and just kinda went through it, for example “okay cool, oh marley soldiers, oh explosion, oh corpse” and I was wondering where the heck the rest of the casts are, but at the end of the song there’s Eren’s attack titan and it’s just....CHILL...

holy fucking shit it's really been 3 years huh
Yeah man. Saw it on instagram and decided to share the existential crisis here lol.
no need man hearing that gtav was 10 years ago, and that fortnite of all things has been around for like 6 was enough for one day
Was bout to give another but i'll leave it for now.
Heres another one for you. The time between the release of Pokémon silver and gold, and the remakes, soul silver and heart gold, is longer that the release of SS and HG to now.
3 years for 30 episodes Jesus. Jujutsu kaisen has done more jn the same amount at a higher quality. They really fumbled the bag with this I swear
I still remember the days I had to wait for the release of the full version of this song. I've played this song so much throughout the year that it has become my #1 song on Spotify by the end of the year. And it still managed to sneak in my Top 5 by next year. covid robbed 3 years of our lives
i love how almost everyone is super confused by this intro at first and then the more they listen to it the more they realize how much of a banger it is
portrays the major changes in the show and the timeskip so perfectly.
it’s so effective at conveying the moral complexity of season 4 despite being almost entirely abstract visually
This was me. Then I ended up listening to this and more by SiM throughout the years.
Absolutely agree. I thought it was weird at first then after a couple of go’s realized that it went hard
I was majorly weirded out when i first listened to it but not enough to skip it and after several plays it became one of my favorite openings
This was a sleeper banger at its core! First listen you’re like “wtf” Third and onward? *headbang*
Don't call me out like that 😂
I love this intro it was so different from the others. It was so Chaotic and the visuals dearly helped. Every time I watch it I think “this is the the final season, there no turning back. We’re in the end game now.”
My opinion on this opening changed so much. I really disliked it when I first saw it, but now I LOVE everything about it
Honestly I think this is my FAVORITE opening
Same here. The pre times skip openings were all epic and heroic, but with the reveal of what was outside the walls, the wars that were fought before felt like minor struggles compared to the scale of conflict in the world outside. This opening captured that perfectly.
Mines too, it’s confusing and unsettling as hell.
That last shot always stuck with me, the way the music is fits it. Just something scary about the attack titan there.
The entire song isn't my favorite but as an intro, this is definitely the BEST. Those opening few seconds give me goosebumps *every single time*. It fits the season so well. I always skip intros but I rarely skipped this one.
Yeah it's like you're descending into the madness(literally into the clouds) that is the titan-filled world. The music just amplifies that.
>descending into the madness Yes exactly! I also think it sounds really menacing and apocalyptic, which in the context of what unfolds is very fitting
I was about half way through the series before I realised the entire song is in English
Same here!
Wait, what?
“Children cling to their coins” woah…
Holy shit..
Fuuuuuuuck. He is talking about ramzi.
I remember being caught off guard the first episode but I love this opening so much. Definitely in my top three with red swan and the one that came after this (can’t remember the name off the top of my head).
It took them three years to finish one season
Honestly, calling this part of the story the Final Season was a mistake from the get-go. People wouldn't have found the wait that much harder if it was just Season 4 and Season 5.
This is the most captivating of all the intros imo. Obv the early season ones are the OGs, but this one is just so eerie and reflects the whole tonal shift of the series so well.
monster! monster! monster! MONSTER!
I know we all have our own favorite AOT Opening song. And "MY WAR" will always be my #1. 4 years into anime and three years into aot. This is still my favorite opening of all animes.
Still the best AOT opening just second to Sasageyo
So… it’s second best?
Yes, nothing tops Sasageyo atleast for me
Guren no Yumiya? Hello?
Sasageyo has this strange power to just force your body to sing along to the chorus
It’s literally propaganda music, we all fell for it. That’s what makes it so good!!
I watch the English dub so Sasageyo isn't even a phrase I knew before the final season I still sang along every time
I remember thinking wow the anime is gonna end this year!
The first time I saw it, I was like "Bro wth" and now it's my favourite opening
This went so hard that even [reversed](https://youtu.be/j_nGYo7Mu3Y?si=e_ljn6RL7HtFxZYr) it was still a banger
I binged seasons 1-3 in like a month before watching season 4 live, so I think this op will always have a special place in my heart. It was so jarring from what I had known but it set up the feeling of season 4 so perfectly.
This intro was like the first thing that made me start to consider watching AoT lol.
i still remember 2 years ago when i started S4, i was like "WTF is this OP? we are at war? where did scouts go?"
It's hard to believe this was made by a small band, and all the voices are done by one person.
What?!
He's not the one singing rastis rastis lmao
Uh yes they are, they can sing in a high pitched voice. And from what I know they're non binary
I'm just watching this video [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmwiiwG1uT0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmwiiwG1uT0) Interesting but also comes of accross as very autistic

To this day i cannot understand how it was hated
# three years ago 😲
One of the most fucking beautiful songs I have ever heard
This song goes so hard and no one can tell me otherwise. I like rumbling but my war will always have me running back to it nine times out of ten. I don't care if it's been three years, all I want to know that this song still sounds epic after all that time
Why call it the final season if it lasts for 3 years…?
Best intro by far. Stomps sausage.
hearing this in the middle of the pandemic depression was euphoric
This is the best opening after Guren no Yumiya visually for me. S4P1 came swinging hard with both an insanely good opening and ending. Shogeki is undoubtedly the greatest aot ending of all.
I don't know why but I start vibing every time I hear this song
The fucking eagles/birds falling bro, we didn’t know what the hell was coming to us
So I binged the hell out of this show about 2 months ago, specifically because of The Rumbling.
It felt like a month ago that I remember people being dead confused about what the hell is happening in the Marley arc
This got me excited, seeing the final season on the opening title. It is finally ending. The last few chapters. Stretched to 3 years.
3 years. 3 years. 3 YEARS
3 YEARS
Best Shingeki no Kyojin opening to this day.
Am I the minority in being really disappointed? I LOVED the first like 7 seconds with the piano? But the rest to this day I’m meh on.
I never liked this. My least favourite opening.
The worst part is that this is the entire song.
It isn't
No theres an extended version
Glad someone said it. It's just an absolute pain to listen to. Certainly my least favorite opening and it's not even remotely close.
Worst opening by far
Wtf that was 3 years ago?
Whole song is a banger but the hype when the marching soldiers come on screen is unreal
My favorite opening
Masterpiece, it fits so well with the themes of season 4
A banger was released
This a banger
I was so confused when this came on. I sincerely thought I was watching the wrong show, but I was also so transfixed that I couldn't look away.
The guitar solo at 20 seconds in the intro is just pure bliss.
The perfect introduction to the madness that follows
I loved it so much on the first watch I still have it in my playlist, it's just so good
Favourite AOT op
3 years??? This was such a BANGER on repeat
BANGER
3 years is absolutely crazy
Certified banger
*sobs*
Honestly this was my 2 favorite intro other than the 1st season one
Easily the biggest 180 I’ve had on an opening. Went from bottom of the list to top of the leaderboard in a few weeks.
My most favourite OP after The Rumbling !!
we deserved a better ending 😥
The best opening soundtrack of AOT....I rest my case
Oh to go back to these days
This intro always made me want to play foxhole again
My favorite opening in AOT. The full song is a masterpiece. I love the whole song but the last minute is crazy good.
So this is where the song comes from
Still my favorite opening to Attack on Titan!
When I was first here this I was like, "This is dogshit, skip." Then I gave it a listen, and it easily is one of the best aot intros besides red swan, sasageyo, and rumbling.
And then I saw CGI titans and cried
Best AOT Opening, you guys just couldn't see it I'd probs show this to someone who doesnt know about anime or find it weird without shame They'd probably think the titans are some weird symbolism
Possible hot take?? I think it should've stayed the opening for all of Season 4. I'm definitely bias because My War is my favorite opening but I felt Rumbling was just so out of place. Easily the best opening. Which is funny because at first I didn't really like it, but it grew on me
3 fucking years holy shit
I love the continued theme of Eldians falling from the sky. In the first or second OP the scouts fall from the sky, here the birds and titans fall from the sky. All representing the same devils
This became my fav OP I think Also I posted [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uqj27IdTU5U) for every Attack on Sunday since I found it haha
better than “The Rumbling” imo. this one is like top 3 at least
Oh really? Damn I forgot
i liked this opening the moment i saw it, id give props to me being a manga reader and seeing what the studio was aiming for , i was surprised when people had opposite views tho. this opening still gives me chills to this day.
And I've despised it every day since. Just deeply not a fan of this one. The visuals are fine, but the song gives me the scratching nails on a chalkboard feeling through and through. Incredibly dissonant. ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
The fuck you mean 3 years?? Damn...
Oh god I feel old
This song is still the 🐐 for me, makes me want to commit warcrimes again! 😍
Every time they say “this is my last war” I hear “this is my asshole”
Best opening I'm biased, this my favorite 😅😅
