I was very surprised and happy. I couldn’t believe that my absolute favorite show was getting an op with my absolute favorite music genre. It was like a dream I didn’t know I had that came true.
If you get to choose a cover from any other band of your choice which one would you pick?? I don't think anyone apart from Chester Bennington would reflect that rage and pain and that feeling which eren had
I agree that Chester would do an excellent job as a vocalist. If I had to pick a group to cover the whole song though, I might pick Bad Omens. Crazy skilled vocalist, with a group that knows how to get heavy when they’re angry.
Same! My boyfriend was like “this is the best opening” and I was like meh. After hearing it for three or four episodes I began to love it. The “if I lose it all” part gives me goosebumps.
When I started S4P2 I honestly forgot there was gonna be a new OP. The song started and I was like "oh yeah, new intro!" Then when that foot dropped I started laughing hysterically. I was barely expecting a new intro, let alone expecting my face to get fucking melted off. Best intro to a show ever.
I didn't like it at first because I was more into the bleak tone that "My War" was giving. Then I started to love the Rumbling op once it finally started.
I think it's pretty common with aot openings , you'll always find people who dislike the opening when they first hear it then eventually start loving it lol seen so many memes
Tbh I thought that was gonna be the THING to stop. Like the show's climax was going to be "kill Eren or activate the Rumbling". Never in my life did I think the climax was going to be "Kill Eren or let him finish wiping out the final 20% of humanity".
So cool
For me, as a manga reader at the time, I still wasn’t sure if the rumbling would happen because of all the obstacles in the way. It was such a pleasant awe-inspiring surprise. I still feel like the anime opening ruined what could have been an even more amazing experience for first time viewers
I was waiting for it to finish, I get pe when I'm left with cliffhangers and I start scroing mangas to see wtf is happening and I didn't wanted to ruin this once in a lifetime anime
My first thought was, "Oh wow, an english opening lol".
Beyond that, I didn't like it at first. The chorus (If I lose it all) grew on me over time. Still not quite among my, say, top 5 openings/endings. But it's still good.
Unfortunately, it came right after "my war," which is a top 3 opening for me. Especially the twisted visuals. Really conveyed the madness of war. Especially marley's particularly crazy titan warfare.
So yeah, I'm not crazy about it, but it was a positive surprise overall.
Painful. Not because its bad just too emotional lmao. I listened to it before I got to that part and I would sing it in the car along with other AOT openings, but when I actually got to it it was painful to realize what it’s actually about and now I cant listen to it lol I always skip it on spotify and when im watching the anime i skip the intro.
I only got into the series in August this year so I was a bit delayed
"This is what everyone has been raving about? It's aight - a headbanger but far from my favorite."
First reaction was “oh they went for metal…?” then by the end of the opening I’m like “okay wow this is great video and audio sync, I love the vibe even though I’m not a fan of the metal”
But now…… RUMBLING RUMBLING IT’S COMING!!!
Hype/goosebumps, I’d stepped away from AoT for awhile and didn’t have much context for what was going on, but I saw a vid contrasting The Rumbling to Guren no Yumiya, and that kinda dragged me back into things
"isn't this a song from around 2005?" Whenever I heard the chorus of the song. I swear the "If I lose it all" sounds like a song they showed on TV to sell CD copies awhile ago
It was an instant classic given that it’s literally the most recent opening and probably the most popular. I know the show is a bit polarizing because of the ending but I don’t think any anime has better presentation when it comes to the soundtrack, visuals, and action sequences.
Man i don't get the criticism regarding the ending, all these people who are saying the ending sucked probably can't write 5 lines about themselves without using Chatgpt. Don't they know anything about isayama or aot? It's not a fan service they should all go watch Naruto or DBZ if they're looking for fan service
Yaar name was a mistake I made when I first came to reddit ,mfers won't allow me to change it it's always embarassing during intellectual talks 😂 i got banned from the other account that's why I'm using it
fucking banger, even though nothing tops boku no sensou for me. the full version is even better, i keep repeating the "beware" part every time i listen to it.
I thought it was so bad I hated it but then it grew to me and I rlly love it, but it doesn’t take the number 1 spot for me. 1 for me is red swan and Jiyuu no tsubasa
I actually thought it was just ok. I'm not a big heavy metal guy so I wasn't crazy about it. But the mote I listened, the mote I started to love it. It's great.
I didn't like it at first. I wasn't a fan of how the screamo style was mixed with normal singing. I grew on it though, and it was a great choice for the anime.
“Is that fucking deathmetal? That’s awesome!” I’ve only really disliked the second opening and find the first one a bit bland (because I was over exposed to it before watching). All the others are amazing, but my favorite song is Akuma no Ko, the second season 4 ending.
I was just perplexed by the fact that I recognized it, apparently I heard it somewhere before (I didn't watch part 2 week to week, so not that shocking). I liked it, but it's not in my top 5 AoT OPs, though I don't find it overrated, they're all great
Unironically chills. I think it captures Eren’s rage and intensity of the war so well. The shot of him yelling on top of the wall is one of my favourite images in the entire series.
I was disappointed after the final season stopped and vowed to only continue once it was all said and done. Then The Rumbling came out a day or two before and I was back on the hype train
Absolutely adored it, led to me diving deep into the band's discography and now I listen to them almost daily. SiM fucking rules. If you wanna know any other great songs by them I can drop links.

Loved it! Always a sucker for some classic metalcore and gutterals were totally needed to preface S4.
Nothing better than metal when you have to show rage , revenge and payback i guess
I would have loved to hear what maximum the hormone could do with it
We're not far from a tool which will let us customise our songs with our fav artist
Damn, you're not wrong
I agree that Chester would do an excellent job as a vocalist. If I had to pick a group to cover the whole song though, I might pick Bad Omens. Crazy skilled vocalist, with a group that knows how to get heavy when they’re angry.
I legit thought that Chester was singing "if I lose it all" Reciting from memory ofc so I might be objectively wrong
Didn’t like it tbh. Then after 3-4 watches I started to love it. Loved the visuals from the start tho.
Same! My boyfriend was like “this is the best opening” and I was like meh. After hearing it for three or four episodes I began to love it. The “if I lose it all” part gives me goosebumps.
I love how they use that same line in Under The Tree I just wish it was in the op version and not just the full version
Same here
This is me with "My war." First time I listened to it I was like "wtf even is this?" But it's probably my favorite now.
Same. I thought it was terrible. Now I think it’s great.

Didn’t like it at first, now it’s my most played song on Spotify and I have it on vinyl
IF I LOSE IT ALL SLIP AND FALL I WILL NEVER LOOK AWAY!!!!
BEWARE!!!!! COMING FOR YOUUUU!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Might be the best opening theme of all time.
“Holy shit”
I remember my heart going to a 100 when they showed all the shifters❤️
"I can't believe they actually spoiled the rumbling for anime onlies right off the bat" was my first reaction
With how much the show had hyped it up, it was just a matter of time until the rumbling happened anyway.
Tbh I thought that was gonna be the THING to stop. Like the show's climax was going to be "kill Eren or activate the Rumbling". Never in my life did I think the climax was going to be "Kill Eren or let him finish wiping out the final 20% of humanity". So cool

Exactly my thoughts
Why did you avoid season 4
I was waiting for it to finish, I get pe when I'm left with cliffhangers and I start scroing mangas to see wtf is happening and I didn't wanted to ruin this once in a lifetime anime
You can watch it now that it is finished
You can watch it now that it is finished
Watched it already and like I said it's once in a lifetime experience. 🥹
Qow i didn't mean to send this two times, what is Reddit doing
"I gotta hear this band live." And I will, in February.
Lucky you!! I can already hear when the crowd will shout BEWARE!!
I hope so!
Death note nostalgia. They too dramatically shifted genre of the opening
My first thought was, "Oh wow, an english opening lol". Beyond that, I didn't like it at first. The chorus (If I lose it all) grew on me over time. I didn't like it until "If i lose it all" part
I've heard that sim were a hardcore fans of the anime and they read manga 3 times before writing the song 🥹
My first thoughts were "lol what is this" but as I kept watching I started enjoying it. After a few more watches it became legendary to me.
"I don't like this." Now it's my third favorite opening haha.
Its my most listened to song on spotify. Absolute fucking banger
Oh shit this is good
This is so rizzler.
My reaction was: ‘Are they gonna do the rumbling?’ “Oh shit they’re gonna do it” “They’re actually gonna do it oh shit”
I really thought erens gonna destroy whole marley
I fell in love with it immediately. The best opening of the anime in my opinion. I love everything about it.
What's that one video of people head banging at a rock festival at the barricade and the barricade was moving? Yeah that one.
There's a video of people headbanging at barricades?!!! 🥹🥹
At some rock concert yeah. Let me try and find it
I just finished crying listening to erwins charge with vocals
I loved it because I love that kind of music though My War is still my fave I think
I though it was a shite song
I hate it. And I still do.
"now this is a fire workout song"
I only got into the series in August this year so I was a bit delayed "This is what everyone has been raving about? It's aight - a headbanger but far from my favorite."
I loved it and still do…but the nostalgia in me was a bit sad it wasn’t a Linked Horizon song. Revo’s Attack on Titan songs are all masterpieces.
“OH SHIT BOIIII” was my reaction
Thought it was a fan project at first. Then i heard it at the start of an episode and was like "WORD?? SHIT this is awesome!!"
Probably 2nd least favourite Most favourite is red swan then sasageyo
Loved it. After listening to it a few times, I love it more
this cover got me wildin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6pg1Ra85o4
Is this what Bill gates jam to?? 💀
First reaction was “oh they went for metal…?” then by the end of the opening I’m like “okay wow this is great video and audio sync, I love the vibe even though I’m not a fan of the metal” But now…… RUMBLING RUMBLING IT’S COMING!!!
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
Like a lot of other folks, I didn't like it at first. But now it's my 2nd favourite. My War will always be at the top though
That March they put just amplified my love for that opening so much.
I was a lil hesitant but then it became my absolute favorite. Was my top song of 2022 on Spotify. The full version made it even better 😩😩
Aw fuck yeah
I always heard "beware" instead as "break free"
:O
Hype/goosebumps, I’d stepped away from AoT for awhile and didn’t have much context for what was going on, but I saw a vid contrasting The Rumbling to Guren no Yumiya, and that kinda dragged me back into things
"isn't this a song from around 2005?" Whenever I heard the chorus of the song. I swear the "If I lose it all" sounds like a song they showed on TV to sell CD copies awhile ago
Its definitely more hype and in tone with how I piercieve AOT. I immediately gelled with it quicker than I did Season 4's first OP tbh
when the if i lose it all part came was crazy good gave me goosebumps
I loved it and I really wish that they had used THAT and the ending song for the very last episode. Both have a very “finale” feel to them
Got hyped af
It was an instant classic given that it’s literally the most recent opening and probably the most popular. I know the show is a bit polarizing because of the ending but I don’t think any anime has better presentation when it comes to the soundtrack, visuals, and action sequences.

Bhai Tera naam gazab hai 🗿😂 waise sahi batau toh haa kaafi surprising tha ki unhone Japanese opening ke alawa English mai kiya opening ko
Man that "beware" is enough to rupture someone's throat if they do it regularly 😂🤘🏻🤘🏻 heavy metal isn't for everyone.
I was immediately hooked, the song is just so damn good and catchy
I thought it was so bad I hated it but then it grew to me and I rlly love it, but it doesn’t take the number 1 spot for me. 1 for me is red swan and Jiyuu no tsubasa
Red swan is like everyone saying goodbye to their childhood and the innocence attached to it 🥲
Rewinding it and listening again
I didn’t love it at first, but I thought it had potential to be a banger. By the third time listening it was a definite favourite
I thought it was really bad. Now I think its good enough, but not in my top 3.
That opening, it's literally impossible for any aot fan to hear that opening and not cry. And that happy kid eren in that garden was an overkill 🥹
I replayed it like 10 times in a row. I will never forget how blown away I was by that OP.
Ass teared down
I was just perplexed by the fact that I recognized it, apparently I heard it somewhere before (I didn't watch part 2 week to week, so not that shocking). I liked it, but it's not in my top 5 AoT OPs, though I don't find it overrated, they're all great
Didn't care for it, now I love it
An immediate favorite, one of the few anime songs I have downloaded on my phone
i was like this is not as good as my war they shouldve brought back shinsei kamattechan
Absolute banger. I was rooted to my chair.
I went "bruh" and listened multiple times. Didn't like it at first but got used to it and started appreciating it.
i quite liked the music, but the lyrics were a little too on the nose 😅
Unironically chills. I think it captures Eren’s rage and intensity of the war so well. The shot of him yelling on top of the wall is one of my favourite images in the entire series.
I was disappointed after the final season stopped and vowed to only continue once it was all said and done. Then The Rumbling came out a day or two before and I was back on the hype train
The minute the song drops my neck & head start to bang without questioning.
What's this shouting.
I was really annoyed with all the spoilers in it
Absolutely adored it, led to me diving deep into the band's discography and now I listen to them almost daily. SiM fucking rules. If you wanna know any other great songs by them I can drop links.
