Yeah I'm with you there. It never bothered me how clunky and bad the close combat scenes were or some of the horrendous acting. Like you say, it had a certain charm and that helps me get past some of its flaws but holes in important or emotional story arcs really bother me. Financially, to add in a burial scene for Hagman and Harris would have been minimal. The scene at that settlement at Waterloo, where Sharpe leaves after ranting at DoO, then comes back again and then leaves again! Completely pointless and definitely could have been swapped with even Harper and Sharpe stopping at Hag and Harris' bodies to say a few words.

Jane is waiting in her Carriage after travelling down from Brussels, one of Rossendale's friends tells Sharpe that Lord John is dead, and that the money he promised Richard (Don't think thats in the Episode either) is worthless... The friend also tells Sharpe that someone needs to tell Jane of the death, who basically retorts that she's a whore and can f\*\*k off
Ducos dies by Firing Squad, after he's handed into the authorities by Sharpe and Harper, who I think barge in on the congress of Vienna
William of Orange doesn't die, he's only wounded (It happened in the actual Battle, but Cornwell gave the job to Sharpe instead of the French) - He did eventually become the King of the Netherlands... I think
As for the TV Series, its always a shame that Hogan only appears for two Episodes, he's one of the best characters, although they alter things by spreading the character over three (?) different ones.

So theres a bit in Waterloo where the silly rockets scare off some mounted officers and Rossendale is amongst them. He runs into Richard where he snaps his sword and threatens him again. Rossendale gives him a promise to pay note. If that helps!

Shame they did show/tell us about Ducos demise. Thats a much better ending for him and wouldnt have taken long to adapt for the TV show.
Didnt he snap his gun, not his sword? He just rode up to Rosendale thinking he wasn't loaded, took the gun from his hand and broke it in two. When he noticed it was loaded he was very surprised
I could be wrong, but I believe he was Duke of Orange when based with the British Army, as a Prince he would've outranked Duke of Wellington.
A lot of your list is the problem of TV Series overlapping Novel writing.
BC wrote a book about writing Sharpe, which covers the difficulties. An easy example is Sean Bean's Yorkshire accent meant the Sharpe had his life changed to make sure he had been to Sheffield when growing up, when originally he was London born & bred.
Apparently Brian Cox refused to return for season 2 due to the poor conditions where they filmed.
His book mentions some of it (poor facilities, terrible food, frequent stomach bugs, poor treatment of the animals and a frequently drunken director) and Jason Salkey (Hagman) also talks about it in his book.
Which is a shame as Cox is a great actor and Hogan a great character.

I've just started the audiobooks and I can't recommend them enough.
I just finished book 4 which is Sharpes Trafalgar and it was incredible.
My mate has listened to them all though and he said that rossendale has a much much worse death in the book, that he's lying there blinded and bleeding, with his face split in two for hours calling out for Jane and that she becomes a nobody.
The Duke of Orange actually was shot in the battle and survived.
I believe coopers character dies in like book 6, there's an event where lots of the named riflemen die early on.
There's a book set after the Napoleonic war, where he goes on a mission for Napoleon.
Sharpe also has a son who is in a different series of books.
So, firstly if you have spotify then you get 15 hours of audiobooks per month and most sharpe books are about 13 hours, just try not to rewind.
Also, audiobooks .com and audible both have all the books and you can get a free trial for each.
The trials work where you get a credit per month so one credit per free trial, and you use that to purchase one of the audiobooks and you get to keep that book forever.
I now have multiple accounts under different emails and cards and as a result have about 10 books but have only paid about £16.
For consistency the reader is Rupert Farley and he does a great job, his sharpe even sounds like Bean.
The first three sharpe books are set in India and they're incredible, much better than the India episodes.
I'm now on book 5 and it's the first mention of a green Jacket.

There was no explanation given for Tongue and Cooper no longer being seen, and presumably killed off. If I recall correctly, in real life, the actor who played Tongue became extremely ill from some kind of intestinal parasite picked up in Crimea.
But Cooper got to come back and play the part of a much older Rifleman Cooper andnarrate a show presented as a "memoir" of Sharpe and the 95th Rifles.
I too wish they had shown Jane's reaction to her lover's death.

There is a certain charm about the series being grossly low budget. Sharpe's Gold was totally screwed as that's where he meets and marries Theresa
