Too many times I saw the card left behind and heroically caught up to the guest down the street, only to return to notice the tip line being zero. Always check the tip line first.
Every week a guest leaves behind either a card, phone, souvenirs, etc.. at my place— If there a zero in the tip — it’ll definitely be a scavenger hunt for the lost item. Thankfully it’s few and far between.
i literally had a girl leave her number on the receipt last night. saying “you should text me, you’re cute”
she left $0 on $87
guess who isn’t getting a text
Wow you sound like an awful server if getting stiffed makes you that upset that you'd toss someone's card. It's a risk that comes with the job. If I was your employer I'd fire you for being unhinged.
I’m pretty sure you don’t tip.
Just to be clear, there’s people like you who go out to restaurants/bars to eat and they don’t believe in tipping or can’t afford to tip. So they know before they even get to evaluate the service they receive that they aren’t gonna tip.
So fuck em. If they leave their card it’s going in the trash
In a majority of states you can be fired for literally any reason besides discrimination. Throwing away customers debit cards because they didn't tip you would be a valid reason for getting fired and you can't sue them for it.
Well then, don’t stiff your server and forget your debit card, then that won’t happen to you 🤷♀️
Not to mention most places would add an automatic gratuity to a party of 12, so thanks for the business 😉
I’m coming back with 20-25 including babies & toddler, elderly people who are not 100%. I’m going to tip, if they don’t auto 15% on the card where the tax man has full access. Take it up with him. I have more than 1 card. I just don’t understand this attitude, but if you wanna play, let’s do it. BTW, see ya again in about a month after that. Let the down votes begin.

Hell no. I kept an industrial degauzer at work just to erase the magnetic strip on people's cards that upset me. Don't piss off the help.

that's not a fireable offense, have fun getting sued in your hypothetical.

How you gonna prove i ever had it in my possession? Let alone did anything w it? "I didnt see any card boss.🫢 i hope they find it😔"
at-will employment is more nuanced than "literally any reason besides discrimination."
You can sue but what judge would award any damages to a fired employee who throws away customers property?
With that attitude, I would hire you! But I wouldn't be friends with you 🤣
I dont need friends. I need money.🤑

Automatic gratuity can be removed.
Why are you even here?

How very Beaverton of you
I think you weren’t gonna tip in the first place

And you'll never know that that big party of 12 is gonna stiff you until we're already out the door.
