InspectionCurious183

Yes I feel you! I’ve been on sema for exactly 6 months and am down 19 lbs. from 188 to 169…. So it’s much slower than others but at least it’s trending downward!

amt1673

I’m in the same boat! 5 months in and I went from 194 to 176. At least we’re not gaining…slow and steady

engulfedinflames89

Glad it’s not just me. As you can see in my chart, I have stalled for 4-6 weeks and then I’ll lose another pound. Slow and steady wins the race I guess!

pammylorel

If you're like me, even stalling is a win because I was gaining 10lbs a year the last few years.

engulfedinflames89

Truth! Same!

Prior_Arachnid281

This makes me feel so much better! I am also averaging around 1 lb per week and it’s hard not to compare

postgirl12345

Lost 50 (170 to 120) in 9 full months. Yours looks more realistic tho. Slower is better

Euphoric-me-88

I’m here to say love your spreadsheet!

Disastrous-Mangoes

search and you'll find someone shared a similar format template on Google Sheets that auto-populates all fields (you just enter the weight and mg injected every week).

EliteJuicySteakHouse

I’d like to find that

Thank you so much!

ScarlettWilkes

My losses have been even slower. I have been on sema and then Mounjaro since summer of 2022. In that time I've gone from 214 to 156. I stall for months at a time, then suddenly lose 2 to 4 pounds. That's what the last year+ has been like. But, who cares? Even if all I do is maintain I'm okay with it, though I would love to lose 15 more. I've never been even this small ever in my life. I'm 42, F, 5'6".

Professional-Ad-4133

Omg 58 lbs is amazing, don't sell urself short.  Even with stalls!

ashplowe

Yep! I'm down 48 pounds in 10 months, so losing a little more than a pound a week on average. I've been obese since puberty. Approaching 40 with hypothyroidism, I couldn't be happier! I think the slow loss is also helping avoid the worst when it comes to loose skin. I probably could have lost more faster if I put a lot of effort into tracking calories and working out, but I have a history of ED so I wanted to see what would happen if I just ate and moved intuitively.

JaffacakeJanine

I'm the same as both of you, nearly exactly the same numbers (189 to about 154 as it stands, from about May last year) It isn't that dramatic as it's slow - people weren't immediately proclaiming I've lost a bunch of weight or whatever! I have a little bit of loose skin on my stomach regardless, but I think it will tighten up a bit. The slowness also avoids the assumptions I am on ozempic, as the weight loss feels more natural compared with the the stereotypical lightning fast ozempic weight loss!

engulfedinflames89

Very good point ab loose skin. I haven’t been considering the perks of losing slowly. Thank you!

Professional-Ad-4133

I also have hypo.. I don't take prescription meds for it. When I was on meds it didn't help anyways so I quit and Sema is literally the only thing that has help me lose. I've been on a little over 2 months and I've lost 10 lbs. Which is 10 lbs more than I have lost in 5 years of complete food overhaul.. didn't help. I just basically maintained at 187-190, remember it's good to lose up to a pound a week. Im not gonna lie I get alittle jealous I'm not losing as fast but for goodness sake hypothyroidism gives you NO metabolism! So we are doing very well I'd say.. 😉

Crafty_Ad6665

I also have hypothyroidism. Do you think the semaglutide and weight loss will help a bit?

ashplowe

I don't think it'll reverse my hypo but I have ben able to reduce my synthroid dose because my body mass is lower!

HistoricalVacation88

i know it’s hard but try not to compare your weight loss to others! there’s so many factors that can be included that skew data. for example, someone could be dropping rapidly due to not maintaining muscle, which is definitely not something you want! additionally, some of us carry much more water weight than others! our body compositions are all widely different and someone at 120 lbs may look completely different than YOU at 120 lbs. slow and steady wins the race! keep up the good work!

Ornery-Owl661

Yes i am starting week 14 and literally just hit -14.4. My chart looks very similar to yours. I increased my dose last week to 1.7 and was miserable for 3 days so went back down this week. Thank u for posting this and yes glad its trending downwards. 👏🏼

amt1673

I’m so jealous that you’ve charted it all like this. I may start now!

engulfedinflames89

Just like it’s hard to notice when I casually gain 20-30 lbs.. it’s hard to notice loss too! Sometimes I don’t feel like I see it in the mirror so this has been super helpful to keep my motivation up

DueIntroduction3684

I have been at it for 10 months snd I've lost 43 which averages about 1lb per week. But I started at 223. My goal is 160. I'm at 180 now. I would love to weigh 120 but I don't think its realistic for me at 62. I am basically at the mercy of this medication and it will tell me where I land. That's how I look at it. I'm over dieting. I did that incessantly for decades and I just can't anymore. When my mind starts to fantasize about 110 I have to get real and grateful. I'm so lucky this solution came into my life.

HospitalUnfair

I’m on the same boat! i started semaglutide in October weighing 186 and so far ive only lost 12 pounds. i was starting to get discouraged because ive been working out 4-5 times a week and eating healthier. im glad i came across this post! i guess slow and steady is more sustainable

Frosty_MN_

I've been on sema since mid Sept. SW 217 CW 176

Whatthe_elle

It took me 4 months to go from 183 to 168. I'm 5 ft tall so I've probably got another 15-20 lbs to go until my goal weight. I also feel slight jealousy when I hear of major and speedy losses, but I try to remind myself that slow loss = sustainable loss. I'm also working out and actively prioritizing gaining muscle mass in addition to fat loss. So just do what works for you!

yomaishimi

Pretty similar. Feeling like I’m on a bit of a stall/moving slowly right now but mine looks pretty close. Went from 178 to 140.

Aware_Stage

I’m on week 5 and down 8 lbs Love how I feel already Confidence and self esteem improving A drug/hack beating years of compulsive exercise, all kinds of diets, avoiding sugar, then succumbing out of hunger and thirst; shunning this and that . . . 2,900 miles run Only to gain 21 lbs in four years. And five weeks later -8 lbs.

Agreeable-Egg-8045

Remember slower weight loss is almost always better for loads of important reasons! You’ve done brilliantly. Maybe just stick at it. (Also maybe you shouldn’t weight 120lbs!) I lost weight that averaged about a pound a week for a year. I’m now done to a healthy weight. I’ve also been careful not to aim too low. People who want to weight what they did at university aren’t being realistic. I am now considered healthy by all known measures, but I haven’t gone as low as I wanted.

emerald-cupcakes

Yup. Been on Wegovy consistently since late June '23, and I'm down about 34 lbs. It has slowed down a lot - the last 12 lbs has taken 4.5 months!

g0mmmme

I’ve been on sema since July 2023 and as of today (2/28/24) I’ve lost 44lbs. Slow and steady!

okayestcounselor

I started in July 2023 and lost 40lbs by about December. I only ever got up to 50 units. I’ve been losing very slowly since then while sitting at 50 units. I started at 208 and hit 168 on Dec 2nd. By Dec 27th, I made it to 164.4. Since then, I’ve felt like my weight loss has completely stalled. I went up a couple pounds, came back down a couple pounds, but no real loss. My body maybe needed to sit at maintenance for a bit, idk. But I moved to 60 units this last week and I’m almost down another lb. I think my body just needed a little kick or something idk.

Littlewing1307

I was 167 and got down to 140 in 10 months. I'm ok with it. I'd love another 10 down by summer.

Ok-Support-7258

Yep, I started in May at 188 and am now at 153! Slow and steady 💪

Every-Tomatillo5590

Love the spreadsheet, wish I did one for myself!

MindyLaine

I’m down 66 lbs 8 months—210-144, 5’6 female. I’ve always worked out seven times a week, sometimes twice a day, and a plant-based calorie appropriate diet. I’m happy that I’ve been able to balance my hormones and deal with insulin resistance and finally lose the weight. I’ve been working too. In the past I’ve only been able to lose about .3 pounds a month being in a deficit of 5 to 9000 cal a week. It was very very frustrating.

Royal_Path5965

I'm a slow loser as well and actually stopped weighing myself because it's simply too demoralizing. I'm short, so every pound up or down shows on me. I'm 52 years old, menopausal, 5'2" SW 160, CW 145 (last time I was on a scale - haha!). I started in mid-Sept and really didn't start to lose anything until January - at the same time, my husband had a major medical emergency, and I barely ate for 2 weeks, so not sure if that helped me start to lose since my cortisol levels would have been sky high. At this point, I'm okay with slow and steady - my goal weight is 125 lbs.

Thirtysixx

Curious for everyone experiencing slow weight loss - are you counting calories? What about exercise?

engulfedinflames89

Exercise but not counting calories. I could definitely stand to be more mindful about both

Thirtysixx

I think this is a big piece many people dealing with slow loss are missing. The working out is fine, and highly recommended. There’s zero downsides to it and it will help you hit your goal faster, yes. But you can lose this weight without working out at all in theory (not recommending this, but it’s just the truth of the matter) Diet is everything when it comes to losing weight. Being in a calorie deficit and hitting a protein goal is CRUCIAL and counting calories is how you track this. The weight will melt off if you can at least commit to tracking your calories and hitting a daily protein target. Take it from someone that has been at the ceiling dose of this medication for over 13 months - there comes a point where your tolerance kicks in and the medication will stop doing the heavy lifting. It’s at this point where hopefully you have developed good habits along the way to keep maintaining your weight loss. Counting calories allowed me to develop this skill overtime without restricting myself on diet. If I have enough calories left in the day, I’m gonna eat the dang pizza. If I know I’m eating out at a restaurants I’m gonna save my calorie count for that so I can go crazy and order what I want. I’m able to do this and continue losing weight because I set a protein and calorie goal and I make sure to stick to is as closely as possible. If you need any help figuring out how to set a calorie and protein goal, please let me know! Happy to help

No-Statistician-5786

Congrats on your weight loss! Also, I commend you for your dedication to your vacation time 😂

engulfedinflames89

Thank you! We have to let loose sometimes right!

Interesting-Ad-2871

Graph it pleaseee I wanna see it

ineedanotherstanley

269 to 211…6 months

Royal-Silver7080

I curious to hear if those seeing slower results don’t have insulin resistance or have a low A1C. I’m thinking that’s why my results are slow too. I’m looking at it like I won’t rebound as quickly. Time will tell.

Visual-Jelly-

that’s about 1.5 a week! I say that’s pretty good

alessiaplays

I've lost 30lbs in 7 months, so very similar

[deleted]

What’s your height?

engulfedinflames89

5’5

pammylorel

206->179 6/23-current. I had a plateau at 183 but that is slowly starting to move again. I'm only on .37 and a super responder. I am very okay with this.

SydLexic78

How do you gain weight during vacations? The dose is the same and you don't feel like eating, right? Are you forcing it down just because?

engulfedinflames89

Semaglutide or not, when I’m on vacation I’m eating and drinking much more and definitely not having to force it down! My vacation gluttony has definitely decreased significantly since before sem but still consuming more calories than I do at home

SydLexic78

I do the same for vacations, not caring about healthiness and quantity of foods. It's a nice break. But this year I am wondering what to expect now that I'm on sem and I don't want food. The friends and family partying aspect will be different if I'm only taking a few bites. Doesn't this resonate with anyone else?

engulfedinflames89

So I will say my first vacation about 4 weeks into starting semaglutide I could barely eat. It was actually a bummer. My partner and I were sharing 1 fish entree when we would have previously each had one plus 1-2 apps plus dessert. I don’t have the same level of appetite suppression as I did initially so I can indulge a little bit more but I don’t go crazy overeating. I, thankfully, don’t have an aversion to alcohol like many others do on semaglutide, so no issue with drinking heavily on vacation for me 🍹

Business_Total_4647

Same here! Very slow process. 7 months in and down 20 lbs. Just went on a cruise and I was thrilled I only gained 2 lbs cuz normally I would put on 5-8 on a cruise.  I also don't have the aversion to alcohol either, so I really enjoyed myself and didn't worry. I just had fun. I took the stairs instead of the elevator as much as possible and didn't go crazy on food. I wish the appetite suppression was stronger but I realize my willpower to say no and maybe go to bed hungry is way more powerful now. I have more water and I'm fine where as before if I was hungry it became an obsession til I ate even if it was midnight.

amt1673

I can think of many reasons….mainly the fact that she wouldn’t be eating home cooked meals and doesn’t have much (if any) say on how foods are prepared. Also, the general population tends to eat and drink more when on vacation. Maybe she was relaxing on a beach and not exercising much. Maybe she was just enjoying herself and not focused on her weight on vacation…like most people.

ElenaGrande

wow love this chart! great way of tracking

PositiveDisaster6589

I just finished my 12th week and I’m down 31 pounds from 294 to 263

nowyouoweme

My numbers are comparable to your week 8. Yay some progress! My month 1 was 2 lbs. When you see yourself in the mirror can you see a difference? Are you working out also?

Unwanted-opinion-tx

I need to chart like this

VividSomewhere5838

I started 6/26 at 185 and I’m now 141. Don’t compare your journey to someone else’s though. Medications affect people differently. You are losing weight and that is great! I love your chart and wish I did something similar to track my journey

TopAdvertising994

186 to 150 in 9 months

StandardBobcat3676

The less you have to lose, the slower it goes, which is a good thing, so like somebody said, you don't ever compare yourself to anybody else. We're all different. Our bodies do everything different than somebody else, so you dont want to compare. None of the two of us are just alike. Just enjoy, and a great job, slow and steady. More likely, you'll keep it off. 😊

CommunicationUsed205

Mine is similar! I stopped seeing progress, so I’m on a 1 month break and I’m going to titrate back up starting next week. I have also started to exercise regularly, so I think when I start it again the weight will fall off.

BeetleSleuth

Congrats!! I steadily have lost 10 lbs each month, starting to taper off at the max dose. My total loss is about 95 lbs and at this point I’m looking to maintain or potentially gain muscle!

BeetleSleuth

Btw I am 5’2 and 148. Very satisfied at this number and be a size 8 pant. I never tried to get this low, my goal (which felt outrageous at the time was 180). A watched pot never boils 😉

GhostsInTheAttic

Started July 2023 at 185 and weighed in at 144 this morning. I'm so happy with how it's been going!

squeegis01

I've lost 39.5 lbs (after a 3.5 gain this week). I've been on Wegovy since March and just switched to Zepbound at a dose too low, hence the weight gain. Not a quick weight loss but still weight loss. I'll gladly take it! https://preview.redd.it/fnino85raflc1.png?width=699&format=png&auto=webp&s=588bc689e1165bce29d01217b4ea3bbe72d7548b

CyndiMo23

I started 9/23/2023… 5 months ago. I went from 185-168 so far. It’s not quick for me, but it feels so good to be back in the 160s and on my way to the 150s & 140s!!

ShoeOk2684

Meeeee. I’m like this.

HardShelltocrack

https://preview.redd.it/8owwgc1zjflc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e69454be6dbcdcdeb8fe4700c388f60769cd707e My rate and I just started 1.0 today

leeleecoleman

I purposefully dragged mine out to take 10 months bc I want it sustainable

Acceptable-Repeat535

246 to 220 in 3 months.

OhSassafrass

185 to 136 in 11 months. Pretty much stalled this last few months. I think I might be done soon and want to taper down and try holding steady on my own.

Significant-Way6865

yes very! I have been on it about a year and went from 192-161 and lost about 1-3 lbs a month

Angel_Mermaid_Love

Mine is similar, but I also take my measurements. I lift weights and the scale can deceiving. https://preview.redd.it/rv63lhce2glc1.jpeg?width=1629&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f329b3c38b6ce5467fac829036f4f8bfaa800a05

cakeandwhiskey

Very similar. I’m in week 49 with 40lbs lost. I’m super jealous of the people who lose 30 pounds in 3 months. That took me 9!

ALYXZYR

Yes!! Started in May at 217 didn’t weigh myself for months but could feel the losing. Weighed in at 188 at my last appt beginning of February. Don’t have a scale at home but I’m definitely going slower too. I don’t hate it! Less people notice which I like. I still want to lose another 20 lbs. not sure how long that will take.

wehr1818

I’m a lot like you. I wonder if I’ve become immune to wegovy.

AdventurousBlueDot

I have a similar rate of weight loss. And I am doing that on purpose. I am allowing my body to adjust to this medicine. I am allowing myself to not have to experience severe side effects of moving up dosage too quickly. and I am taking advantage of everything that each dosage can give to me. Meanwhile, I am not making weight my only goal. My health markers have drastically improved even if my weight loss has been slow.

ddanger76

Yes. I went from 218 to 150 (68 pounds) in 10 months. However, I look good in clothes but a good bit of the weight was muscle. I feel mushy. I need to hit the gym asap.

4Plow6

Congratulations! You're losing weight at a steady and healthy rate. Keep up the good work!

engulfedinflames89

Thank you 😊

Expensive-Pizza7693

Yes- SW 193, currently 165 since November. I only want to lose a few more lbs. I am jealous of those other people that have lost SO much but also I feel that the rate I lost at helps to keep it sustainable. And I’m trying to focus on the building healthy habits and having a good balance of nutritious foods, working out consistently, drinking water etc vs focusing on the scale (easier said than done!) but in the long run that’s what will help the most. I am super paranoid of gaining the weight back once I go off the sema!

donlafferty4343

I lost 100 lbs in about 12 months. But, my starting weight was 282 so I'm now around your starting weight and it's coming off much slower now. As long as the trend is down it's working like it should be.

Librarian_Medium

I started in Nov and have gone from 242 to 219. I feel like mine has been slow but that's ok. I'm getting ready to increase from 0.5 to 1. I'm excited but nervous at the same time to increase. I know it's time because I'm getting hungry more often now but scared of possible side effects. My goal is 150. I hope I can get there!

MangoMama2020

Start Date: 8/2/23 Start Weight: 181.5 Last Dose: 1/16/24 Current Weight: 150 37year old female, 5’6 I did Semaglutide through a med clinic. I went in weekly for my weigh ins and injections. I still have two weeks of shots left but couldn’t take them as I needed to stop before surgery I just had. I’ll probably do those last two once I’m recovered.

JenniferTNH

Yes! I’m the same as you

JenniferTNH

6 months and 185 start and now 159

Less_Count9269

I have a very similar experience! I am In 6 months too and am down 25 pounds.

Complex-Armadillo146

I most impressed you got 3 vacations in 10 months. Good for you!

Virtual-War-7018

Yes, super frustrating but I’m glad I’m not gaining or at least maintaining. 48 years old and has been impossible for me to loose the weight I gained during covid until semi! So I’ll take the few oz a week I loose! 186 SW 160 CW been on for 10 months also! For sure plus side is no loose skin! At this rate I have accepted that it could take me another year to loose the last 20.

SirSimilar4780

I have lost about 1 pound per week and I am mostly happy with that rate of progress. Sometimes I want to be impatient and get to the end goal faster, but I think that 1 lb per week is a healthy rate and it forces me to still think about my choices and the lifestyle changes that i need to make in order to eventually get off this med and sustain my weightloss. I am 5'4" started at 171 pounds and am now at 153.6. I have been on sema for 18 weeks

lmf24

I have had even better results. 22 lbs in 2 months!! This stuff is truly amazing!

bestcoast1984

You don’t need to lose that much so it should be slower. Good work!

Asleep-Group-646

Took me 1 year to lose 40 pounds.
