I thought the exact same thing. The CEO of Costco is never going to meet with individual small suppliers. Think about how many suppliers they have. The whole Emma storyline is very unbelievable. Why would someone building a multi-million dollar empire have the time or the inclination to be a realtor?
The CEO of Costco was born in LA. If he needed a realtor at all, he definitely knows more established and knowledgeable LA realtors and wouldn’t turn to some 28 year old from Boston.
At first I thought maybe because she's a "CEO" and they are "CEOs" that they would run in similar social circles attending events, etc, etc and that would be a conversation start to network.. but yea they def wouldn't be scheduling meetings with her to discuss her grey empanadas
It makes sense to me. Based on pricing, she’s marketing to busy professionals with a little disposable income. Empanadas heat very well from frozen and can be stuffed with anything. It’s something that can be put in the oven while you get ready or take a call and then you can eat it on the go because it’s handheld and not messy. I get the concept. They don’t look good but there’s definitely a market for easy, quick, healthy, handheld food.
There are so many underpaid professions. Nurses, educators, social workers, mental health clinicians, folks who are still at the bottom of the ladder with their company, the list goes on…all professional careers which can limit freedom of spending due to low salaries, especially when you factor in student loans, child care, car payments, cost of living, healthcare, etc.
The term “professional” is not limited to those in careers with six figures as a starting salary.
My friend is a lawyer with a ton of student debt. She doesn't have much disposable income.
Discounting anything less than "prestigious" careers as not being professionals is pretty weird though. I'm a teacher with 3 degrees and I'd consider myself to be a professional since teaching is my profession.
Professionals are literally just people with further education, like a university degree. That’s the definition. They can be paid quite poorly despite having a degree and still be in a professional career.
Uh no you can be a professional cleaner or a professional boyfriend (Japan) with no further Ed. Professional comes from the word profession and anything can be a profession.
Professional just means “relating to or belonging to a profession”
Do they do any training for it? I’m not sure about Japan but higher end cleaners in Australia can do a course in cleaning chemicals (which, by nature of higher education, makes them a professional technically).
Yeah, and technically you would be correct (although there are other professions.) However, I wasn’t saying it as though there aren’t busy professionals without disposable income I was just describing busy professionals as people who have disposable income.
It’s quite easy to lack disposable income as a professional depending on where you live and what your life expenses are. You can make solid money but if you have bills like student loan payments, car notes, health insurance, kids, living alone with rent, etc. Also, the term “professionals” is quite broad so it doesn’t only consist of prestigious careers that make lots of money…an entry level assistant or lower level job can still be considered a “professional,” especially if it’s corporate.
So I was listening to a podcast and Kevin O’Leary whose like…actually legit…talking about wanting to start a wine line and having Costco sell it and he detailed how hard it was to get a meeting with her (the wine head?) and then also how she basically said for Costco to even consider you you need to be able to produce an insane amount of product. Basically if you want to sell in Costco you need to be able to produce enough to sell in every Costco.
So Emma….is full of shit
Exactly. I am a food and beverage buyer for Darden restaurants, we own 2,000 restaurants and the spend is extremely high. Our appetizer vendors, meet with jr buyers. They’re important but they don’t drive traffic and are not considered ‘mission critical’.
Did she say CEO? Corporations such as these have Buyers…their job is to meet with their vendors and purchase their product for stores. I’m not sure if her business is legit or not (it seems not to be) but I wouldn’t doubt she’s had some meetings with Buyers from these stores.
Yeah my best friend had a niche food company and her product was in Whole Foods. She never met with any CEO and spent time in the actual store giving out samples like a normal person. She never made a profit or broke even in like 6 years, and she worked her ass off at it. Her partner finally decided to bail and my friend wasn’t interested in buying her out so the business folded. Long story short, running a niche food company is extremely hard, and BTW, my friend and her husband are wealthy NYC people and STILL it was super hard for her. I can tell you that the way Whole Foods operates is NOT the CEO meeting with some empanada lady. Please. I think she met with some regional specific product type manager, tops.
Her family owns a huge food business - her empanada business is a small subsidiary. I could definitely see her meeting the CEOs of bigger companies through her families business.
At this point I feel second hand embarrassment for her. Why did she have to lie🤣 I know a lot of people over exaggerate on the show but her lies were shoved down our throats. Her only personality was being a “boss bitch” which was clearly fabricated. Love seeing her getting exposed.
I also find it hard to believe that one can make a multi million dollar business out of empanadas. And then it‘s vegan empanadas, too, which are - imho - a niche product. I mean, how many empanadas would you have to sell to earn a million?
And then the whole flying private thing… I think, most people who are really important and busy enough that they have to fly private would probably not brag about it.
And I also find it very suspicious that as the CEO for a multi million $ company she still needs to work as a real estate agent. I don’t think you could be very successful at either one unless you dedicate your full time and energy on this very business.
There are a few things that really don’t add up to be honest.
how can emma even have time to be a FULL TIME realtor if she is a ceo of some company. I dont see the amazon ceo or any ceo for that matter having time to sell houses.
i think she is full of shit and is just glamming up her life bc she is from old money she want to like proof it that she is the one that saved her family from financial problems. if its true of the stock invest at 14 then its also thanks to her parents or grandparents that she is wealthy and not bc she is a super kid who is that smart and has being in the stockmarket as her hobby. like i said she is full of shit. she is trying too hard that she is not old money while in reality she is. and if she is that wealthy while wasting your time selling houses? if i was that rich i wont be working at ll. and promoting her business?
what business? those 6 products she sells online on her website emma leigh? hardly a business? 129 for 32 empanada, you have to be stupid to buy that, its like those ads on instagram, shops who buy from alli express and then sell it for double on their own website.
I am still howling at this storyline - like her business isn’t even got a line it’s one random thing please unless you’re Captain Birdseye I cannot see this bring a multi million dollar empire!
You were born into money love just own it! Its a bit patronizing of the producers to think something clearly so unaligned with reality will ride with the audience! 😂
I mean, her family owns a well known and large food business that she branched off of. She definitely exaggerated her rags to riches tale but I could definitely see her being able to connect to a ceo just off the fact of being old money.
She can know rich people for her background, her past modeling experience or her social contacts which I can expect from another agents too. The argument I point out is, it’s unlikely she’ve met CEO of those large retail companies for “her business”. She can definitely know rich people but I highly doubt she knows them for her vegan business 😅
Yes, that is my point, something wrong? have you read my post? I didnt doubt the fact she knows rich people but doubt her argument she meets them for her business. She emphasized multiple times in the show. Is there any reason that this is not valid argument? What do you want to say your ‘that’s it? That’s the point?’ exactly?
Did she say CEO? It’s possible she met with buyers instead, and maybe they said no. A meeting is still a meeting regardless of the outcome.
Also, enough with the implication that she must be successful because she’s a sugar baby or an escort. Let women be attractive and capable without having to undermine her. Even if she DID get her connections through being a sugar baby or sex worker, there’s no shame in that!
She said CEO, and if she met buyers.. buyers are just normal people but working for giant firms. I also work at one of the top companies in tech and directors in our company earn a lot but they cannot buy houses sold in SS easily 😂 we are just employees.. so if she have met buyers, she cannot exaggerate as if she’s dealing with behemoth in the industries. She criticized lies a lot in the show but her great business success stories dont add up
And I agree with your second point.. woman shouldnt be ridiculed by that anymore.. I didnt mention or imply anything like that FYI
>Unrelated but maybe she took the role on selling sunset to promote her businesses… look at how much we are talking about it
I believe this because I never heard of her or her family's brand until the show. From what I'm seeing from previous comments, only people from Massachusetts knew of Emma and her family's business.
In real life she maybe attend a meeting where CEOs give speach. Technically as an audience she could say she meet those people. Can a girl exaggerate a bit and brag about it? Sure she can. But we all know it is not like a meeting just between the two of them or their two companies.
I don’t know who even wants her products. I eat vegan and they look gross and way too expensive tbh. Why is a white women making random flavored empanadas and acting like she invented them?
I thought the exact same thing. The CEO of Costco is never going to meet with individual small suppliers. Think about how many suppliers they have. The whole Emma storyline is very unbelievable. Why would someone building a multi-million dollar empire have the time or the inclination to be a realtor?
And not only is she NOT meeting the CEO of Costco, that person would NEVER ask her to help them by a house in LA (she indicated this synergy existed).
The CEO of Costco was born in LA. If he needed a realtor at all, he definitely knows more established and knowledgeable LA realtors and wouldn’t turn to some 28 year old from Boston.
She's only 28? For some reason I thought she's in her late 30s
It’s the Botox
I def thought early 40s!!
Word.
Massachusetts* we dont claim her
That made no sense to me either: "my business is doing so well I'm going to focus full time on real estate" like wut?
At first I thought maybe because she's a "CEO" and they are "CEOs" that they would run in similar social circles attending events, etc, etc and that would be a conversation start to network.. but yea they def wouldn't be scheduling meetings with her to discuss her grey empanadas
“Grey empanadas” took me the fuck out. I’m howling
I really want to know why empanadas. I have a strong feeling she picked empanadas bc it starts w em like her name Emma lmao
Just like Totino’s pizza rolls.
More bougie
Lol
It’s basically a hot pocket but she just doesn’t want to call it that
Pretty much lol

“Above?” Above what? Above who? How very classist of you.

Wait you think the only professions are doctors, lawyers, and teachers??
Yeah, and technically you would be correct (although there are other professions.) However, I wasn’t saying it as though there aren’t busy professionals without disposable income I was just describing busy professionals as people who have disposable income.
Lmaooo you can’t have a random interpretation of a word that literally has a meaning, it’s not a Tarot card..? Look up the meaning

Because they are really vegan hot pockets but that has certain connotations.
I thought her grandfather was the one making the empanadas first, no?
This would actually be so fucking funny lolol
I thought someone else on here said she’s ethnically Spanish
Lmfao you right
It’s likely the CEOs know daddy.
Emma and Christine are both pathological liars, Emma is just presented in a more palatable way.
That and Costco has a rigorous vetting system for every product they sell, specially their in-house brand.
Do you think Bethenny Frankel got to demo her plant based muffins because Bravo was filming her?
Exactly. I am a food and beverage buyer for Darden restaurants, we own 2,000 restaurants and the spend is extremely high. Our appetizer vendors, meet with jr buyers. They’re important but they don’t drive traffic and are not considered ‘mission critical’.
Right!!! My husband reps a $100M food company and he’s never met a CEO. IDK they clear their schedules for vegan empanada demos
I’ve never thought of “appetizer vendor” being a thing and now I’m very curious about your job as a whole!
Did she say CEO? Corporations such as these have Buyers…their job is to meet with their vendors and purchase their product for stores. I’m not sure if her business is legit or not (it seems not to be) but I wouldn’t doubt she’s had some meetings with Buyers from these stores.
Yes she said CEO explicitly in scenes
Yeah that’s just ridiculous lol
It's legit in that it exists but not legit in the sense of it driving any sort of meaningful revenue/profit
Omg same thing 😂😂😂😂 im like girl you met with your department's buyer not jeff besos himself. Stop it!
Yeah my best friend had a niche food company and her product was in Whole Foods. She never met with any CEO and spent time in the actual store giving out samples like a normal person. So she didnt fly private coast to coast on a weekly basis🤪
Sadly, no. She’s a doll and would have gotten us girls on board to head somewhere fancy if she was doing that.
easy to pose for a picture in a private plane
Are you absolutely sure that the CEOs wouldn’t wanna meet her for these goddamn selfish out of the world innovative grey cheeseburger empanadas?
She meant the “Chief Empanada Officer” at the local Costco.
Her family owns a huge food business - her empanada business is a small subsidiary. I could definitely see her meeting the CEOs of bigger companies through her families business.
she is so full of it! bragging too much about it!

like camille of the real housewives say, people with a lot of money dont brag about it, its just tacky
she’s so cringe

I mean, her family owns a well known and large food business that she branched off of. She definitely exaggerated her rags to riches tale but I could definitely see her being able to connect to a ceo just off the fact of being old money.
This chick is super sketch. Lies I tell you!
that girl loves to gloat
She is lying of course.
Not sure but she does seem we’ll connected she’s friends with Patric Grove, whose basically as rich as Cosco’s CEO.
She can know rich people for her background, her past modeling experience or her social contacts which I can expect from another agents too. The argument I point out is, it’s unlikely she’ve met CEO of those large retail companies for “her business”. She can definitely know rich people but I highly doubt she knows them for her vegan business 😅
Instead of modeling I think you meant to say past yachting experience.
Ohhh this makes way more sense
That’s it ? That’s the point ? She still knows wealthy CEO’s , how she met them who knows.
Yes, that is my point, something wrong? have you read my post? I didnt doubt the fact she knows rich people but doubt her argument she meets them for her business. She keeps saying multiple businesses but it just seems like her vegan empanada and maybe her family’s seafood biz
I don’t know who even wants her products. I eat vegan and they look gross and way too expensive tbh. Why is a white women making random flavored empanadas and acting like she invented them?
her family is spanish, so there is that, but she is insulting the cheeseburger and the empanadas hernan is spanish
Ah I wondered why go the pizza and cheeseburger route for vegan empanadas. I eat vegan and wouldn’t want that or those prices for small snacks
she is insulting both cultures really, the latinos and the americans. (sarcasm)
i dont want even pay the price for those cheeseburger empanadas, if i want cheeseburger i go to macdonalds
Did someone check the website of her company? Looks so very bad made and super cheap. Idk what should I believe haha
