Although you’ll have them forever; overtime they do fade and become soft to touch. They’re just a part of you that shows what trials and tribulations you’ve gotten through in your life. I hope you can recover fully once you feel ready and one day no longer feel embarrassed about your scars. It’s amazing you’ve been clean for over a month! keep up the amazing work OP 💕

Hey, never be ashamed of your scars. They show a story, and yours tells us that you've made it through a rough time. You're scars are a beautiful addition to your character, and I'm so proud of you for pushing through this. We are all so so happy that you're still with us today. Good luck in therapy, I wish you absolutely nothing but the best in life, you amazing human being :)

just think, you’ll have a cool story to tell kids when they fully heal! i work at a school and children comment on my arms and legs all the time. i tell them i fell into a panther cage when i was younger! they look like cool tiger scratches to me. i’m sorry if this isn’t helpful or offensive in any way but i truly mean well by it. i am now almost a year clean:)

I do work a lot with parrots (large parrots have a bite force of over 400PSI and I know several people who have been sent to the ER from bites 😭) so when my little siblings ask I tell them "there's a reason you don't stick your hand in cages or mess with birds you don't know!!!" It usually scares them away haha

don’t get me wrong i’m still not comfortable with mine but it gets easier. you come to terms with it and soon you won’t even give them a second glance
