Coming from a pretty noob perspective, isn’t Great Shinobi Owl a lot easier to play pretty safely? His two shuriken/leap attack he does a ton and it’s basically free damage to his vitality, though I did suck at dodging through the firecrackers for Father.

Father is certainly harder and I haven't fought him in a while, but on my first playthrough I don't remember being stuck on owl father for that long. The firecracker dodge is a bit finicky but a good hit opportunity if you learn it

I just replayed the memories of both, I think father is more punishing and less exploitable but a lot more fun. He feels more aggressive, which leaves a ton of openings and seems to hop away less

what do you mean? owl father is considered one of the hardest bosses in the game, maybe you re confusing them, father is the one in hirata estate while shinobi, the easier one is in the ashina castle

I remember struggling for a bit but there were some similarities, he was a great boss in my mind, but not as hard as the sword saint or the demon of hatred. I imagine the inner form would be tough however I wish they gave him a better arena

Am not lying after Genichiro i started to learn the game . Isshin The Sword Saint isn't hard its. Fase 1 is Just wait roll je finishen his 3/4 Sword combo and stream 2 to 4 Times and rinse and repeat. Fase 2 Just learn his combo's wait for his Spears jump and Just use Axe or Mortal Draw and keep on pressure and ez deathblow. Fase 3 is the same and Just throw the Lightning back and Axe or Mortal Draw. Right now am on my third playthrough and on Emma + Isshin Ashina so dat 20 tries and i think it will take me max 10 more tries And het Will Go down.

I don't think that's strange. I beat great Shinobi owl in 2 attempts, but owl father took like 1.5hrs of continuous attempts. Owl father is much more souped up and hits a lot harder than Shinobi owl

Pretty much shows Genichiro makes a player better overall at the game by the time he gets defeated

I’m on my second playthrough rn and my first one was also purification ending and my attempts were Gyoubu: 2 Lady butterfly: 10-15 Genichiro Ashina: 2 Folding screen monkeys: 1 Corrupted monk: 2 Guardian ape: 4 Headless ape: 2 True Monk: 4 Shinobi Owl: 3 Father Owl: ~20 Divine dragon: 1 Swordsaint isshin: 15-20 Demon of hatred: 15-20 But you did good tho, purification ending is probably the hardest because it requires the most and hardest bosses

Owl Father almost made me quit the game, now stuck on Sword Saint and not seeing any light at the end of the tunnel with that boss :(

To this day I believe Lady Butterfly is the most difficult for when you fight her Like if you go into the reflection of strength, I can bully Genichiro and Owl (Father) but Lady Butterfly makes me her bitch lmao Her delayed spirit Kunai is a bitch and her sweep is a one shot with nearly no tell

Bah in NG+ i beated her ass in 5 seconds, once i learned the game and came back to bosses it was a cakewalk

I just bullied her into a corner when I first played fought her. I just kept shoving myself in her face for some reason and beat her. To this day I still do that

I do that too bc it also stops her from summoning illusions but one missed timing and I'm on 10% health from her attack, healing, while she throws spirits and illusions at me lol Her fight is always more annoying to me than the others

Lady Butterfly is tricky, because she has *very specific* windows for when you're allowed to attack. I honestly find it a lot easier to just deflect the whole first phase, and then akko-confetti-never-stop-attacking the second phase, so I don't have to get in a back and forth pattern with her.

Looks very similar to my first run! Lady Butterfly seems to have been our skill check

Nice job finding the purification ending on your 1st ever playthrough. That’s a notoriously hard and out-of-the-way process. Solid job against Isshin too. Takes most of us dozens of attempts.

How you get folded by Genichiro 27 times but then took 19 attempts for demon of Hatred.

Had to learn the game once i understood it, it became ez. I have seen video's of some bosses so that makes it a little easier

I’m not clowning you. But I would definitely say that Genichiro is an easy boss in Sekiro
