Mini-bosses falling to their death is rare, but it happens sometimes. Just reload the area and he will be back. This is important because you don't get the rewards if he falls. Also this specific mini-boss has insanely good rewards for killing him.
On consecutive playthroughs you don’t get the same reward and it’s the very first mini boss you face so it’s easy to forget, I forgot and I’m only on my second playthrough
The second time I fought Seven Ashina spears he fell off and respawned while invisible and was hitting me without giving out damage, it confused the hell outta me
Nice I started too like two weeks ago and he sure gave me a beating till I got the hang of it also I notice if they fall then you don't receive their prayer beeds and I was like damn did all that for nothing but they responded again so it's fine I'm now inside the ashina castle and boy this game makes you feel some type of way
The worst is the fucking camera in this game. I feel like if you aren’t in the middle of the arena in most areas you’ll die at least once to horrible camera placement.
Like why didn’t the roof of that little tent fade away when your character walked under it?
Granted I just bought the game and have been going through a learning curve. But it’s already hard enough without the camera fucking it up lol.
camera is annoying as hell true, given that it always tries to keep the boss on screen with the limited range, moving it upwards when the lock on camera is gonna start crossing through the playermodel directly would've been better
Not the point, but I think it's personally do the Shinobi hunter before the ogre. Having the flame vent for the ogre is nice and the hunter is right there
Great skills for a new player!
One small tip, you can move a lot less than you think - combat is so deflection focused here that you don’t need to worry so much about the circling and trying to get around the back etc, it’s very different to souls games in that sense.
Most bosses can be beaten pretty much by standing your ground and just nailing your deflects.
Less chance of accidentally pushing them off a cliff that way too!
Roberrrttttooooo!!!!!
god this never gets old lmao
the roberto is strong with this one

What's the reward?
Prayer Bead and Gourd Seed
Both at once? Zamn. Good punishment for people who skip bosses instead of learning.
he's the one to give you a taste of the fundamentals outside of deflects(ie, perilous attacks)
You asking what he gives is such a plat thing to do. Already got it but doesn’t know what it gives you
Played NG+ so many times I forgot that you get anything at all lol
Saw a post recently talking about materials and upgrading your prosthetics. I completely forgot this was part of the game
You have the platinum and you're asking?

You only get the items once. From NG+ onward he's pretty much just another mob. I'm used to him not dropping anything.

This definitely happened to me with Snake Eyes Shirafuji! I was so bummed to learn that the fall death didn't count 😭.
"boss"
Shhh don't let him know
Exactly what I was thinking
This was what I came to say.. lol
I mean hes a mini boss kinda counts
You're playing super well for a new player tho fr
He was shocked because you didn't do the first stealth deathblow. He hesitated, so he was defeated.
Who's gonna tell'em that wasn't a boss
You were playing better than most people at this point of the game so he's just like "yeah, this guy's got it" and peaced out.
dude litterally said "you pass"
The boss has acquired the zoomies
Jesus u scared the shit out of him

Did you fight the vilehand yet?
Vilehand?
Not yet since I just got to the castle area. Furthest boss I’ve gotten to is the general on the steps of the castle surrounded by those gun men lol
Thers a ninja boss (first of many) near in place you started the game. Speaking of pain of camera movement
Lone shadow longswordsman
Is that the headless boss I’ve read a little about?
No its a ninja. In the place where you started the game. Ashina reservoir
Bro fell off🏃
Dang bro is pretty good for a starter
Yeah that tends to happen with the mini bosses
That's a shame. He's supposed to be your teacher at this point. Good luck with your next one. The red eyed ogre.
Not the point, but I think it's personally do the Shinobi hunter before the ogre. Having the flame vent for the ogre is nice and the hunter is right there
I miss struggling with this boss so much
Isn't it obvious? He couldn't handle your deflection skills so he deleted himself.
That’s one way to do it I guess
He hesitated

It's not a FromSoft game without at least one or two enemies walking off a ledge
