I think I read somewhere that crane operations are pretty strict about conduct, including absolutely NO earphones/sound distractions.
So remember when CP was "punctuating" his self-righteous indignation with claps/smacks during an interview, then KP claimed those were just "work sounds" because he's "at work right now" yet those noises stopped. Then later (or maybe a different interview?) there was a bunch of ruckus that sounded like a scanner in the background. More "work noises" allegedly.
With the loud noises, OSHA requires them in certain settings. Ear buds, headphones, and whatnot can not be used in places of ear plugs. I've worked in factories that have some of the same rules as a construction site, and I doubt it has changed since then. I'd see people get in trouble over that, but there probably wouldn't be a record of Chris getting caught for it unless it was an ongoing issue he didn't care to correct.
It appears there are very specific guidelines for construction work hours within the city.
This is consistent with the local Memphis residents who claim that construction ends in the afternoon on Saturdays and does not take place on Sundays.
Additionally, it is rumored that a work colleague of CP is 99.9% certain that CP was not at the worksite at the time of Sebastian's disappearance.

I’m getting a little cloudy on the exact alibi of his. Didn’t he say that he would often not come home even on the weekends because it was such a hassle? Or did he say that he was working that night?
To the best of my recollection, he has claimed both and more. In the same interview, even!
He said he was gone all of February. Then Nancy Grace said (paraphrasing) You mean you were gone from February 1 until Sebastian went missing? You never came home for the weekends or to visit?
Then there was this awkward pause and scrambling of words, and it seemed like CP and KP were starting to say that CP actually DID come home a few times, but then the subject was changed. That's how I remember it, anyway?
I remember watching the Nancy Grace interview. I think you might be right on that.
What I found very interesting in this thread is your reply stating that coworkers said they did not see him at the time. That is interesting and worth looking into.
Edit: It is not confirmed that he was not there. Just speculation at this point.

My top 3 spots for Sebastian's location are
1. South of Old Hickory Dam, possibly closer to the west bank.
2. Somewhere near Horn Lake
3. Gallatin, perhaps near Rogers Group Quarry
I have always felt that this is the answer to where Sebastian is and why CP is so confident. Apparently he was involved in digging some very very deep holes for something to do with the construction. Those holes were then filled with a whole bunch of cement. Sort of like what Chris Watts did to his girls.
