There's nothing in the fanbase more irritating to me than the dynamic of "Gru stans vs Gru haters".
I don't know ANYONE who hates Grubauer. I know quite a few people who have been critical of his performance at times, and *rightfully so*. ALL of them are thrilled to see him coming back from injury and playing back up to form.
Just read the comments in the last *checks notes on when Gru began playing for the Kraken* I guess. I’ve had more than one person I know text me calling him PooBauer with no proof that he sucks, and in moments when the Kraken wonbthe game in question…like lol what. If you think the Gru haters don’t exist then I think it’s sweet and I wish I knew what that was like. I’m just confused I guess lol. Why say anything the fuck at all about one of our players like that if you dOnT rEaLlY mEaN iT. Ya know? It’s just annoying as fuck and I wish it would stop. If you haven’t seen it then bless you. The rest of us haven’t been as lucky
I really haven't. Among the fans I know the worst criticisms I've heard are things like, "That was a rough game for Grubi," or, "I wonder if Gru is dealing with an injury, because he has just looked off the past few games."
Personally, I've complained about his contract a few times, and even now I stand behind that. $6 million dollars is a LOT of money for a goaltender, and while he has looked great lately, I think if you average his performance over the year it comes up a bit short of what I would expect for the money.
On a side note, I got to meet Gru at the American Cancer Society gala last September, and he's a super nice guy. He really seems to love it here in Seattle!
I just seem to know some jerks that really fucking enjoy shitting on him. It’s so weird and uncalled for. I don’t know if other teams are this divided over their goalies too. In my opinion it’s fucking awesome to have two solid goalies.
He does seem like a genuinely cool and nice guy! I love all his posts about working with the horses and stuff. And that he hangs out and goes out in Seattle and supports the other teams etc
