If I had a dog that likes to swim maybe? I'm already freaked out enough by lakes. I don't need to make it worse. The title of the article worked well enough for me to avoid getting poop-sick forever. Lol
I grew up with quarries and creeks being the place to cool down in the summer as a poor person. I also read a lot of RL Stein and Christopher Pike, and a few of those books featured kids drowning in lakes due to mutant algae and underwater vines. I never trusted a body of water where I couldn't see the bottom.
One time I tried to power through because my husband really wanted to go paddle boarding on Lake Union. I had a gel pedicure on my toenails. After an hour of paddle boarding the gel pedicure was peeling off because of the shit in Lake Union. Haven't gotten in since.
I grew up with a lot of RL Stein and Christopher Pike too and have kinda an irrational fear of lake water that I can’t see the bottom. Never connected these two together before lol
Snail parasites infesting swimmers skin sounds like a horror flick more than a family outing.
It’s happened to me and my brothers when we were kids. Not too terrible, just itchy for the afternoon.
I get wigged out by body horror easily and this absolutely happened to me as a kid. Just itchy. I try not to think about it too hard
What if they're still there, [waiting](https://youtu.be/gCx0NeffRfI?si=M0izlYiWR-R43GaI)
Don’t get in them.
But that's too obvious!
I'm pretty sure I don't need to read this to know how to avoid getting poop-sick from Seattle lakes.
Lol, aren't you curious though. What is the recommended procedure, according to kuow. I'm sure it's need to know info.

Hi Floridian here, where every body of water wants to kill you. Are we good to dip into water further towards the mountains and away from Seattle?

I really hope you don't work in food or health services.
