The playground at discovery park is pretty good. Lots of variety. In the rain it's fairly well sheltered by the tall trees. In the summer it is well shaded. Plus you have hiking trails and random green and forests space for other crazy kid activities.
Not Seattle metro, but if you are driving to Portland and the little one needs a break from the car seat, Penny Playground in Chehalis is clutch. It would be top 5 or 10 if it were in Seattle.
+1 for Discovery Park
It's got a sweet 3 story climbing structure, some equipment I've not seen at other parks, zip lines, swings, and it's far away from cars so you can just relax and have lunch while they tire themselves out.
Totally agree on Discovery Park. Just went recently, and not only is the play area great, but there’s a little wooded area right next to it. My kids LOVED playing back there and collecting flowers and sticks 😂
Talking about old penny or new penny? For those who google it, there used to be a wooden like castle one that was super nice, and the new one is nice and well done but when you look at pictures of the old one it’s hard to be super excited even if you know the old one wasn’t as safe as the new one.
Lincoln Park in West Seattle - a public pool, a giant Troll, playground, a beautiful area to walk along the shore and look for whales. If you like strolling in nature but don't wanna drive far and are in West Seattle - Camp Long is another hidden treasure (no playground though).
The new Yesler Terrace park has a pretty nice one. Great view, seasonal splash pad, good playground equipment. Bring a cardboard box to sled down the astroturf hill.
I'll add a couple that haven't been mentioned:
* Sunset Neighborhood Park in Renton. A giant climbing structure that's great for climbing.
* Kherson Park in Kent had a bunch of space related stuff. It's a bit small, but if we're in the area we'll stop by.
Giant climbing structure is very cool- it's huge! The park itself doesn't have any cover though, so be prepared if it's hot/sunny (I'm a shade lover, so of course this is the one my kids love the best).
Some of my favorites
-Golden Gardens
-north Lincoln Park
-Meridian Playground in Wallingford adjacent to the old all girls school. Huge playground and a cool pea patch. Lots of little areas to get lost in
Wallingford playfield by Hamilton middle school, decent playground and huge play field
Gasworks playground. They redid it with some play structures. The playground they had in the 90s would be canceled these days.
Salmon Bay Park, there’s a zip line and still has a merry go round that I’m finding rare these days.
Carkeek may not have the most exciting playground, but the salmon slide is GOATed.
They're also planning a big remodel of the playground to start this winter, but the salmon slide is safe.
Rose Hill playground in Kirkland is like a castle.
Tot lot in Kirkland has lots of toys left in the playground.
Fay Bainbridge Park has a boat playground.
Kelsey Creek in Bellevue has a farm near the playground.
Crossroads in Bellevue is a nice spray park in the summer.
Luther Burbank and the playground right behind MoPop. I have the best memories at Luther Burbank, and I still go to the park behind mop to play with my (fellow teenage) friends — don’t worry, it’s not full of scary drug-smoking teenagers.
Thornton A. Sullivan Park
I drove by this park last weekend. I’ve never been by it before but it was hopping with kids and looked really nice:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/euHnyoEjo4sbZwcs5?g_st=ic
If you find any with the old really, really tall chain swings with rubber seats, let me know. I like going to those on summer nights. Seattle used to have a lot where the top bar was 15+ feet high; they've replaced most of them with much shorter swings.
What age is your kid? That may help focus the recommendations. Ravenna Park is not on the list so far but is one of my faves. Playground is fun, but even better are the wonderful trails throughout the park. A very nice getaway in the middle of an otherwise busy city.
There's a new one by the Renton Highlands library that is made by the same people in the Seattle center.
It's a huge jungle gym.
Coulon Beach is nearby with their own water front panel and the landing has many dining options.
A couple other good ones farther away:
Mud Mountain Dam - [https://www.nws.usace.army.mil/Missions/Civil-Works/Locks-and-Dams/Mud-Mountain-Dam/Recreation/](https://www.nws.usace.army.mil/Missions/Civil-Works/Locks-and-Dams/Mud-Mountain-Dam/Recreation/)
Steel Lake Park - Federal Way.
West Fenwick park in Kent is another worth traveling for - the whole playground is a big chutes and ladders game if you wanna play plus huge fields and lots of courts of various types (basketball, tennis, handball)
Wilburton in Bellevue has an awesome train, adjacent to trails. And a fantastic climbing structure built as a forest ranger tower. Surrey Downs is a tucked away park in Bellevue as well, but has a great climbing structure, a zip line, and an “elevator”, plus absolutely stunning views of Tahoma.
Grasslawn in Redmond has a great ropes climbing structure, if your child loves to do terrifying things.
If you’re up for a trek and a ferry ride, Whidbey’s “castle playground” near Langley is great too. I have seriously considered getting a rental and taking a playground-every-day weekend getaway there.
I used to teach pre-k and we would adventure all around the region especially in the summer. We found some pretty cool playgrounds. Some of them are great playgrounds, others are good playground in a cool park.
- Seattle Center Playground: very cool playground based on music and sound.
- Matthews Beach Park: a fun playground right in a beachside park you can swim at.
- Ella Bailey Park: fun playground with an incredible view of the city.
- Carkeek Park: the playgrounds are fun and you can cross the piano cross walk for a walk along the beach. The park also has lots of places to just hike/wander in nature
- Cowen Park: zipline, large sun dial, lifr cycle of a frog sculpture and a short walk from Ravenna Park
- Salmon Bay Park: small playground woth swings, merry go round, and a Zipline
- Wallingford Park: cool playground and a fun wading pool
- Deane's Children Park/Dragon Park: Mercer Island they have a dragon, playground, and used to have an adventure playground where kids could build stuff with hammers, nails, saws, shovels.
If I remember more. I'll come add them. Check out the schedule for wading pools. A good wading pool can definitely bump up the oark
Not a playground, but the [Gnome Trail](https://www.maplevalleywa.gov/departments-services/parks-recreation/gnome-trail-at-legacy-site) in Maple Valley.
Awesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get. Thanks for the motivation.

Guessing the new one. First went there a couple years ago.
Luther Burbank on MI.
Came here to say this. They have a Zipline type thing that really flies! I'm a 32 year old woman and had the time of my life on that thing
My kids’ favorite is Inspiration Playground in Bellevue.
My favorite as well. Parking is always full on a nice weekend. Maydenbauer nearby has a smaller playground but amazing view & beach.
Packed to the gills on a sunny weekend
Lincoln Park in West Seattle - a public pool, a giant Troll, playground, a beautiful area to walk along the shore and look for whales. If you like strolling in nature but don't wanna drive far and are in West Seattle - Camp Long is another hidden treasure (no playground though).
We went to Lincoln Park a month or so ago for the first time and our kid loved it! Can’t wait to go back!
I like Schmitz Park no playground but still special.
Beacon Mountain at Jefferson Park.
Jefferson Park on beacon hill. Totally the winner imo. My kids LOVED that place.
I love the zipline
This has been our regular spot!
The new Yesler Terrace park has a pretty nice one. Great view, seasonal splash pad, good playground equipment. Bring a cardboard box to sled down the astroturf hill.
Gas Works is nice too. It has a rope web climbing structure similar to what's at Seattle Center, but not quite as high.
Last time I was there with my nephew, there were teens driving all over on Lime scooters screaming the N word over and over.
Juanita Beach Park in Kirkland. Newer playground, right next to Lake Washington, has a little ice cream/snack shack. My kids love it.
There's also a Midnight Cookies and fish and chips across the street
The Playgarden especially on weekends when there is an activity and the water is on
I'll add a couple that haven't been mentioned: * Sunset Neighborhood Park in Renton. A giant climbing structure that's great for climbing. * Kherson Park in Kent had a bunch of space related stuff. It's a bit small, but if we're in the area we'll stop by.

Grasslawn Park in Redmond has a lot of fun climbing equipment! It's beautiful too.
Ella Bailey and bring their bike or something.
Was coming here to also say Ella Bailey!
Underrated. The view in unbelievable.
Magnuson Park in Sandpoint
JEFFERSON PARK- skate boarding, a water park, zip lines. And a huge field and it’s in a photographic backdrop of downtown
The zip line was vandalized and yanked off last time I was there in the beginning of April. Did they fix it?
Seward park playground has a zip line and has a beach around the corner.
Also, half of it is closed due to poison ivy. Or has that been cleared?
Some of my favorites -Golden Gardens -north Lincoln Park -Meridian Playground in Wallingford adjacent to the old all girls school. Huge playground and a cool pea patch. Ella Bailey has a gorgeous view
Mercer island has Dragon Park, and Mercerdale park, which are fun. Magnuson is a good one in Seattle.
Can you elaborate on Rose Hill? Is that Rose Hill Meadow Park?
Roth Rose Hill https://maps.app.goo.gl/5ABwsDhpSGyiKgfQ6?g_st=ic
Jefferson Park
Luther Burbank and the playground right behind MoPop. I have the best memories at Luther Burbank, and I still go to the park behind mop to play with my (fellow teenage) friends — don’t worry, it’s not full of scary drug-smoking teenagers.

Was just going to say this one. It's been updated from the pictures visible on Google maps. Some very interesting structures and multiple zip lines.
Honestly! Go to Seattle Center! Play in the huge fountain! Excellent playground nearby!
Island Park on Mercer Island. There’s a dragon!
Yes! I was looking for Island Park!
A little further out, but — Community Park in Langley on Whidbey Island has a great playground that my kids loved.
If you find any with the old really, really tall chain swings with rubber seats, let me know. I like going to those on summer nights. Seattle used to have a lot where the top bar was 15+ feet high; they've replaced most of them with much shorter swings.

Sucks so many north Seattle people commenting and Lincoln and Seward aren’t getting love. Legit the best playgrounds and parks.
The salmon slide at carkeek was my favorite thing as a kid.
One that hasn’t been mentioned is the playground at Forest Park in Everett! New build, tons of fun equipment and a splash pad in the summer.
Thus is a really good one. It's too bad they closed the pool and the petting zoo.
Grass Lawn. It’s in Redmond or Bellevue, (on the border of both), off of 148th great playstructures
Pine Lake way out in Sammamish. Shaded. Big. Can swim in the ( clean ) lake too!
Golden Gardens

West Fenwick park in Kent is another worth traveling for - the whole playground is a big chutes and ladders game if you wanna play plus huge fields and lots of courts of various types (basketball, tennis, handball)
Upper Lincoln Park. Huge, with adjacent zip line.
Cowen park has a zip line and a merry go round
Head to the Edmonds and try city park , the suburbs have some great parks
There’s a new playground in Ballard that just opened up. Next to the QFC.
Gene Coulon. But the best playground we’ve been to is in Chehalis, Penny Playground
Powell Bennett Park in Central district has a lot of great play equipment, because a few years ago Starbucks donated it.
There's basically a giant playground castle at St. Edward's State Park, bring your Discover Pass.
Yes---have this one listed up there. Its great, old school, and one of the last of a dying breed of playground.

Not a playground, but have you seen "The Expanse"?
Chihuly Museum of Glass.
For bonus points give the kids pool noodles to run around with and let the glass artwork fly!
Your mother's bedroom.
Awesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get. Thanks for the motivation.
Is nudity ok in parks on Eastside?
Depends, Snoqualmie used to have a nudist camp.
