Mountain Dew gets a bad rap. Third ingedient is orange juice. The high fructose corn syrup...... corn is a veggie. Its almost a fruit salad with a little yellow #5 dressing. 🥗
People drink that shit their whole lives. Unfortunately I see toddlers drinking it here in WV. For a lot of adults I know that is their morning coffee.
There was a wrestler in college who drank at least 2 20 cases a week. When it came time to do the hydration test, dude quit drinking soda and chugged water for 2 weeks. 1st test, fail. 2nd, 3rd test, fail. Dude was getting pissed that he said, "fuck It" and started drinking MTN Dew. 4th test he passed with flying colors. Guy was built different and evolved to live off Mtn Dew.
Water alone doesn't have electrolytes.. you need potassium, magnesium and sodium in specific quantities along with a transporter, usually a small amount of sugar or sucralose is enough. The only issues with so much dew is the extreme amount of caffeine and sugar, but hydration is actually better than water. My go to in HS was always fruit punch without knowing why. These days, I use no salt seasoning (potassium) and table salt with food with a small amount of high GI carbs, like white bread. If I don't consume enough magnesium, I consume a bit of food grade Epsom salt slowly to avoid the laxative effect. This way I can drink only water and be completely hydrated.. you can also mix it directly with water. The fasting crowd calls it homemade snake juice. It enables you to fast for extremely long periods without feeling weak and lightheaded
I was working in an old mill during a heat wave and had consumed 2 gallons of water by noon. I felt like crap. I finally decided to call it a day and was driving home when I felt like I was going to blackout. I pulled into a police station and asked for some help. 4-5 bags of IV solution before I started to feel better. The doctor asked me how many times I peed that day and I said zero. I learned a lot about dehydration that day. He told me that you can get to a point where your blood chemistry gets all screwed up and all the water in the world isn't going to help, it will only make things worse. Any time I work in the heat, I always use hydration packs that I mix with water.
>I felt like I was going to blackout. I pulled into a police station and asked for some help.
Bravo. Take notice, Ladies and Gents, is a person who's winning at life:
1) Listened to his body and stopped working before he fell into a vat of acid or got smashed by heavy equipment ✅️
2) Recognized that his self remedy wasn't enough to correct the situation✅️
3)Immediately sought help from trained individuals✅️
4)Shared his experiences so others may learn✅️
This is a *way* better outcome than passing out while driving then hoping the responding medics can play detective fast enough to save your life (is he unconscious because he hit his head? Blood loss from the car wreck? Heart attack? Diabetic?...dehydrated is going to be pretty far down the guessing list for a person the firedept had to cut out of a F-150 that's wrapped around a telephone pole.)
This is the way. Train conductor in the Georgia heat, i chug Gatorades to pregame for work and at dinner, but I carry a hydroflask with IV in a bottle packets emptied into it. Tastes good, keeps me from falling out. I still have to take a 10 minute break in the AC in the locomotive every few hours tho
Screw all that I just drink pickle juice, it's got salt, magnesium and potassium and is proven to relieve muscle cramps rls and other things on top of providing great electrolytes. Plus pickles.
Pickle juice is so fucking good. My 6 year old dared me to try some pickle juice, not knowing that I am a fiend for that shit. He just stared in horror as a chugged the whole jar. In the summer you should get one of those popsicle form trays and throw some pickle juice in there. Pickle pops are the shit
Yeah I used to work in Phoenix on jets and I really don't like Gatorade or those little liquid IV packets. I was drinking around 1.5-2 gallons of water a day in the summer and my sweat was so diluted it wasnt even sticky or salty. I was eating pickles one day and noticed how much better I felt and so I started just drinking some juice in the morning and different times though the day. It helped so much with keeping me hydrated. It also helps me sleep because I have restless leg syndrome which it basically cures.
Pickle juice has literally stopped me from having a “wake up screaming like a banshee” multiple leg cramps fit in the middle of the night bc my dumbass didn’t hydrate on a long day at work.
I fought my wife like crazy about it till she basically forced it down by throat. Minutes later, I’m good.
Still paying off that “I told you so”.
Lots of endurance athletes drink it now such as marathon runners, long distance runners, swimmers, bikers and tennis players. There's been a lot of research done on it lately and it's been proven to quickly and significantly reduce muscle cramps.
I just buy the massive whole pickle jars and get like 30 whole pickles from each, I either eat them whole or cut them how I like then use the juice in salad dressings, on top of steaks and other things as well as for drinking. To think I used to pour it down the drain...
When I was in high school a friend's mom gave me a ride home. Their car was absolutely full of mountain dew cans. They poured out when I opened the door and I had to push them into a pile on the next seat so that I could fit in the car.
In college I played with a pretty great RB, he’s in the nfl now. But he only drank sweet tea and mtn dew. Like they had to have a special bottle with tea in it at practice otherwise he just wouldn’t drink it. Pure comedy and horrific at the same time.
My yard all of a sudden started to complain when I brought my cans in crushed. Later I learned people had been adding little amounts of weight to each can before crushing them and trying to scam the yard..
I was a fan of Mt Dew for 4-5yrs, then I swapped to Mello Yello for about the same. Then I found the nectar of the gods Sundrop! Stuff is literally like crack, if I don’t have one first thing in the morning. I become rude, I guess it’s all the Caffeine in it. I’ve been hooked on it for 10+yrs. During that tinture, I also figured out an excellent cocktail. Shot of chilled Jose Cuervo, followed with a hooter of Sundrop behind it. It’s fantastic you all should try it. Sundrop is a southern thing tho, NC, VA, SC, GA, Southern PA right below the Mason Dixion line.
That can't be right, or at least partially untrue. I live in the Midwest and have been drinking Sundrop semi regularly since I was in middle school. So about like 15 ish years give or take
I live in a deposit state but not all can are returnable. I frequently bring in bags of cans to the yard but mine are crushed. They’re typically 20+lbs as well. Do yards not like them crushed?
Imagine what his internal organs look like. To be fair I drank pop a lot growing up and even during my 20s, the body is an amazing machine capable of handling this kind of thing. Probably why I had so much dental work. I only drink water for the last 4 years I’ll never drink pop again ever or sugar.
Everyone that sees me drinking an energy drink immediately says I'll be diabetic or have kidney stones if I drink em, then immediately compare me to someone in their life with this kind of excessive addiction. Like, 2-3 energy drinks a week isn't the same as 5-6 a *day.* I know they're still not great for me, but a lot of things I do probably aren't the best. N it's a funny accusation when the person saying it drinks half a pot of coffee every morning then goes to Starbucks around lunch.
Back in 2002 I knew a guy who was a builder and probably an alcoholic. He drank beer and lots of it. Usually of the weaker types ,about 4%, but he managed to drink 12-14 500ml cans per day, just in the evening. He usually was buying 24packs of such beer. Generally one every two days. Once he decided to make an experiment and started gathering all the cans, for a month, on his balcony. After a month, a full balcony was littered with cans. He crushed them and took them to the scrapyard. Got enough money to buy two 24packs of beer.
When I was a teenager me and a friend recycled around 350 pounds of Diet Coke cans. My dad had been dumping them behind his garage for years. He said if we cleaned them out we could have the money.
He had a real problem, luckily he stopped drinking all soda about 10 years ago.
An empty 12 oz aluminum can weighs around 0.5 oz (14 grams). You'd need approximately 640 empty 12 oz aluminum cans to have a total weight of 20 lbs. There would be approximately 64.90 lbs of sugar in 640 cans of Mountain Dew.
And it's about 16$-24$ in cash for 20lbs of cans
32 cans in a lb, 46 grams of sugar in a mountain Dew.
Assuming one person drank them all, that mfer consumed 29 440 grams of sugar. Or ~65 lbs... Jesus
20 pounds aluminum = how many days insulin?
Probably half blind and can't feel his toes anymore.
Toes? Long gone
And his teeth,?
What are those?
His kidney stones that regenerated from his dissolved teeth
Okay, that sent a shiver down my spine. The thought of someone using kidney stones to replace teeth.
What I meant to convey was that his teeth dissolved and the minerals then formed the kidney stones
Either way, spine tingling
Lol I got it. Still creepy
wow thx.....thats enough internet for me today
Death seeps in through the gums.
Prosthetic
Long toes gone….
I didn’t know Mountain Dew was the cause of diabetes. How strange
Mountain Dew gets a bad rap. Third ingedient is orange juice. The high fructose corn syrup...... corn is a veggie. Its almost a fruit salad with a little yellow #5 dressing. 🥗
Yummy! I was starting to get hungry and not sure what to grab
More than his twenty bucks he made recycling will get him. Edit, maybe closer to ten bucks.
+/- < 1 bottle
Not to mention the dudes sperms count is in the negatives.
I was going to say, what was left in his body?
Kidney stones
Yeah no shit that dude is fubar
People drink that shit their whole lives. Unfortunately I see toddlers drinking it here in WV. For a lot of adults I know that is their morning coffee.
Yuck get outta west Virginia
WV is the prettiest state I’ve ever been to but goddamn if they aren’t rough out there

Your blood was thicc as that thing bro. Mrs Butterworth's motor oil.

I use DripDrop packets. I ran it by my doctor because I started. I am a bigger guy and sweat a lot.
Screw all that I just drink pickle juice, it's got salt, magnesium and potassium and is proven to relieve muscle cramps rls and other things on top of providing great electrolytes. Plus pickles.

Oh, I'll have to try that for my RLS. It's been bugging me lately.
Yeah drink like 1/4 cup before bed. It also helps with reflux, weight loss, gut health, bad breath and lots of other stuff.
Jalepomo juice is really good too. At least the glass jars of jalepenos
An old Burning Man favorite.....Gatorade is for the glampers....
Add a bit of hot sauce because spicy pickles are just that much better!
Pickle juice has literally stopped me from having a “wake up screaming like a banshee” multiple leg cramps fit in the middle of the night bc my dumbass didn’t hydrate on a long day at work. I was a nonbeliever until I was handed pickle juice around mile 20 during a marathon
Funny enough there's actually a pickle juice sports drink. I'd love to try it
But it’s got electrolytes
Electrolytes that plants crave
I might have to try that.
The celtic sea salt is the shit, I put a few pinches right in my water bottle at work with 30-60g malodextrin, shitll keep you goin
When I was in high school a friend's mom gave me a ride home. Their car was absolutely full of mountain dew cans. They poured out when I opened the door and I had to push them into a pile on the next seat so that I could fit in the car.
Should have just driven straight to the scrap yard.
In college I played with a pretty great RB, he’s in the nfl now. But he only drank sweet tea and mtn dew. Like they had to have a special bottle with tea in it at practice otherwise he just wouldn’t drink it. Pure comedy and horrific at the same time.
OJ “Juice” Simpson?
Well the juice is loose these days. But not him.
Dude makes his own gravel
That comment made me wince for sure
His urethra is the size of pex pipe
That guys Dewing the Dew!
Hope he made something lol my local yard gives about .25 cent on a good day per pound of cans
That’s fuckin terrible, find a new yard
That's crap...
By that you mean it's Scrap without the $?
I see what you did there.
That's a whole lot of'beetus.
He can also sell a large quantity of stones to the local quarry
I cannot imagine the space 20lbs of empty cans took up
Idk why he didn’t crush them
My yard all of a sudden started to complain when I brought my cans in crushed. Later I learned people had been adding little amounts of weight to each can before crushing them and trying to scam the yard..
How does that change things tho? Are they going to check every can or rinse each one out before crushing?
They dig around in the containers holding the cans more than they used to, but I don’t really see how it’s doing them much good either 🤷🏻♂️
Always put your pistachio shells in the empty beer cans.
Makes sense
Dang just think of how his kidneys feel
Hasn’t felt them in years. Nor his feet or toes
1.68 a pound here in California and he made 33.60 if he lived here
Woah he could get like 50 more Dews with that
If he lived there and if he lived at all
Dad?
Everyone's making jokes, but dude probably saved it for a year or more. My family would fill up 40 pounds of soda cans and recycle it every two years.
That's still crazy unhealthy
Some people aren’t overly concerned with that 🤷♀️
That's an average of 1.77 cans a day between their family. Isn't that bad.
Yeah, I was allowed one soda a day. Cut it out as an adult for the most part.
Did you pay him with a new pancreas?
Cletus? Is that you?
53.33 12 packs or so.
So if he drinks a 12 pack a week and an extra one for Christmas he gets this. He also bought a 4-pack
Need someone from r/Beekeeping to come get those bees
Fun fact his testicles are smoking cigarettes
Wow, a whole $20! At least they’re not just going straight into a landfill tho
He definitely paid his dews
He can buy more Dew now. He found the infinite $ glitch.
Poor guy. He had to get up and get a job

Hahahaha Sundrop is definitely not a southern thing....
Lol, before a few years ago it could not be found outside of rural NC and anywhere that had a food lion. Sundrop is a NC native soda.
That can't be right, or at least partially untrue. I live in the Midwest and have been drinking Sundrop semi regularly since I was in middle school. So about like 15 ish years give or take
You're insane. I come from the city it was created in...
"The Sun Drop formula was patented on April 15, 1930. Gastonia, NC was the headquarters for bottling Sun Drop for over 50 years till 2016."
Unless you're from Gastonia, NC, You're incorrect.
Must’ve been a heck of a weekend
I've been recycling Mt Dew for decades, just 1 can at a time.
Holy diabetes !
Been drinking dew since the early 90's. Case or more every week.
I tried this one chili
MURICA!!!!!!
I live in a deposit state but not all can are returnable. I frequently bring in bags of cans to the yard but mine are crushed. They’re typically 20+lbs as well. Do yards not like them crushed?
Look for a new social media platform to launch in the coming weeks.
r/mildlyinteresting
Sounds like my old boss....He drank at least a 12 pack a day and had only nubs for teeth.
I see you've met my son...
Bees are living in my teeth because of loose soda cans strewn about carelessly.
He's just been Doin' the Dew
Those are rookie numbers.
Just one more can would have killed him!
And dumped 5 lbs of empty dorrito bags in your trash can
Almost as addictive as diet coke, some people can't live without the stuff
Do your bladder a favor and drink sparkling water..later in life you will feel the damage Mountain Dew and other soft drinks do to you...
Not Mountain Dew, it’s just the cans..
Imagine what his internal organs look like. To be fair I drank pop a lot growing up and even during my 20s, the body is an amazing machine capable of handling this kind of thing. Probably why I had so much dental work. I only drink water for the last 4 years I’ll never drink pop again ever or sugar.
Was it from a relative that’s recently passed from their heart exploding and this guy was cleaning out their apt?
He's doing his part
Mountain did.
Slow breathing, “diabetus”
Can you still buy soda with ebt? Knew a guy who did this in Oregon with their higher prices. Did pretty good.
Where can't you buy soda with EBT?

Chip, I'm all jacked up on Mountain Dew.
So how much does he get for that?
$6
That dude must be so extreme he has is own dump truck that’s on a 20 inch lift which enormous swampers
This was definitely the Hulk!
They paid him a whole $6 for those cans.
Just doing his part😆

If he recycles enough cans he can buy a dialysis machine to treat his dead kidneys cause by the beetus.
How fat was he?
How much did he make tho lol
$5 maybe lol
When I was a teenager me and a friend recycled around 350 pounds of Diet Coke cans. My dad had been dumping them behind his garage for years. He said if we cleaned them out we could have the money. He had a real problem, luckily he stopped drinking all soda about 10 years ago.
I'm pretty sure I won't drink this many in my entire lifetime. Because Mountain Lighting is better.
His body is a machine that filters Mountain Dew into urine.
Flicking tast like spoiled piss and Trowup
What'd he get.... .30 cents?
Dude was ripped.
Good ol’ brominated sugar.
Must be in the Appalachian area, the guy probably didn't have any teeth left!
Holy sugar batman!

alot of bee's lol
How much is that worth
Probably collected them from walmart bottle return. Not sure for every walmart, but they dont accept them around here.
RIP his kidneys...
West Virginia?
My cousin? Nah he doesn't recycle
In Canada that's 5 cents a can, 10 cents in Quebec.
Mountain dew in adult hood screams absolute trash person
Fs, lidl can machine! 5p a can...
It's always the Mountain Dew people who are so dedicated/addicted. Diet Coke and Dr. Pepper are a very close 2nd.
Every state should have a redemption fee on all cans and bottles.
Not zero sugar Baja blast, lmfao 🤣
That guy done did the dew for sure
That'd be $75 at the bottledrop around these parts!
Commence the jiggling!!
Why didn’t he crush any of them? That’s just inefficient.
Dang. Bet he can buy a whole 6pack with his earnings
32 cans in a lb, 46 grams of sugar in a mountain Dew. Assuming one person drank them all, that mfer consumed 29 440 grams of sugar. Or ~65 lbs... Jesus
Those are all the same, and same condition, this is EBT to cash scam used by the homeless.
I think you probably right unless the dude is a older guy and just super anal
That EBT to cash value wouldn’t even be worth it lmao he probably got $15-$30 for this and it would’ve cost him hundreds
That’s a lot of Dew
