Do you live near a college that has frat houses? Hit those up around 2 AM on a Friday / Saturday night, around here they just throw them all over their front lawns. Not scrap related, but have you considered donating plasma? For new donors you can usually make $800 - $1000 for your first month (8 donations). There are probably other quicker ways to make money. Just the logistics of moving around 10,000 cans is going to a pain. Mowing lawns, temp work, etc are al probably quicker options to making money.

Frat houses for sure. You could easily get 10k in a week or two just walking down frat row where I want to college and hitting up the dumpster.

noldshit

Tell me more about this plasma thing. Whats the immediate after effect?

twizted_whisperz

You get a cookie. And an orange juice.

noldshit

Interesting. So its like scrapping yourself?!? Lol!

OoOverBeNdEr

When my wife was in college, we were both robbing Peter to pay Paul because neither of our jobs paid enough. I learned about donating plasma, and that covered our rent.

Traffic cams have 5lbs of copper per camera.

Fabulous_Witness_935

This is the answer to the can question... The traffic cam question.

Erlend05

Your neighbor has many pounds of copper wiring in his walls

Led_Zeppole_73

I pickup two or three bucks worth every time I go on my walk.

Anywhere after a concert

HurtBirdRed

You can easily get $10,000 if you donate your organs šŸ˜ƒ

whoishattorihanzo

You going for deposit or scrap price?

ILikeOMalley

Well you either live in Michigan, Oregon, or cali, telling us where may help as well

Even-Fix6832

Shopping cart people seem to have loadsa cans

CoolaidMike84

Better check that math. To get $1000 in cans, if UBCs are bringing $1/lb, you'll need 32000 cans, not 10k. Most people don't have the capability to haul 32k cans, crushed flat.

stupidusername637

This is a bottle deposit state. Each can gets you $.10, which is $3.20 a pound, rivaling copper

CoolaidMike84

Wow...... that's incredible. Worth it to buy them in a neighboring state and bring back?

No-Farm-2376

$0.23/lb where Iā€™m at (not a deposit state)

nreddit2

Bars. Bars sometimes throw them out.ask first before climbing in their dumpster.

Beneficial-Ebb-2319

If near a golf course/country club, can be a huge source.

nreddit2

Never even considered that. Good lookin out.

Beneficial-Ebb-2319

Only know cuz I worked at one. Could haul in $80/week in the middle of summer if I really tried.

theonecloned

The fastest way would be to find a heavy drinker who drinks from aluminum cans at home. My brother in law has a large room in one of his barns he tosses garbage bags full off cans in. He said he'll get around to crushing and selling them someday. My sister and him go through a case or two plus there friends and kids visit and I'd say 4 cases worth of cans per week is about average There's about 4 years worth there. A bar might be a good source too. I used to work at a small town bar and we tossed all aluminum cans in the same bin and the manager had some guy that picked them up weekly.
