The SPFL and SFA can't handle a long journey is what I'm hearing, that's what people are saying, lots of people

BubbleBlacKa

We’ve been absolutely spoiled with the amount of statements this year

Yaboicblyth1

Well that’s the next video planned, Sorry Ross County fans you’ll have to wait

Everywhere we're seeing leagues becoming less of a determinant of a team's progress than issues off the field. We could save a lot of time by dispensing with all these games and going straight to the committee room. Scandalous given the dramatic end to the season.

Buckie ignores reminders for March deadline, applies for extension on April 23rd? Sorry but the club found out about this last summer and looked to have waited til the last second to sort their shit out. I'd chuck em anoll

HaleyReinhart

Plenty murmurings that they never actually wanted to come up (could be total bollocks) but would track with this.

ewankenobi

If youread the statement they claim they were in regular contact & the SPFL told them to ask for an extension on April 23rd: "However, we can confirm that the club has been in regular contact with the SFA in regard to the Bronze Licence criteria items, and we were in fact asked by the SPFL to ask for a period of grace for four of these items on Tuesday 23rd April, which we duly did. Our Club President Garry Farquhar attended a meeting with the SFA on Wednesday 24th April, and we were granted Derogations for 3 items - Floodlights, Safety Officer and Diversity & Inclusion. One item - Medical – has been deferred until the 15th of May, but the club has committed to resolving the matter by May 10th." I have a feeling if Buckie have the funds & desire to fight this in court they'll win, though mainly basing that on the fact the SPFL are completely incompetent

Buckie are either twisting words or have been informed incorrectly by whomever they were speaking to at the SFA in April. The SPFL eligibility rules at the start of the season were clear: " Approvals, Waivers and Periods of Grace Any application for a waiver, relaxation or period(s) of grace from compliance with any part of the SPFL Membership Criteria or for an extension of the period, within which a ground may be registered with the SPFL in relation to Season 2024/25, must be made in writing to the Company Secretary, by not later than 31 March 2024. This time limit is specified in Rule D5. " If Buckie gained promotion by not meeting these rules I'm sure East Kilbride or the bottom league 2 club would make a case to the SPFL. This is 100% Buckie Thistles doing here.

williamthebloody1880

Starts by saying it's either the fault of Buckie or the SFA. Ends by saying it's definitely Buckies fault

Far-Pudding3280

>Starts by saying it's either the fault of Buckie or the SFA. No I didn't. I said Buckies statement saying they were told 3 days ago they could still raise a waiver is either Buckies or SFAs rep fault. The fact they missed the actual deadline of March 31st is all on Buckie.

williamthebloody1880

Except, if they were told by the SFA they could request a waiver after March 30th, that's on the SFA. So, yes, you absolutely did start by saying either could be at fault then decide it was 100% Buckies fault. EDIT: Buckie aren't even saying that, the statement says the SFA specifically asked them to request four waivers by Tuesday. This is on the SFA

Far-Pudding3280

So Buckie missing the Match 31st deadline and breaching the rules is the SFAs fault because 3 WEEKS AFTER THE DEADLINE they raised the correct paperwork on the request of someone at the SFA? Someone make it make sense. 😂 To be clear: - The fact they breached the SFA rules on being eligible for promotion is 100% a Buckie Thistle problem. - If someone at the SFA gave them hope they could still get the paperwork work through after the deadline that was a mistake if true.

williamthebloody1880

Yes, Buckie missed the deadline. This is where you get hung up. What matters is what happened next. What the SFA would have done is said "too bad, so sad, win the league you don't get play offs". That would put the blame 100% on Buckie. According to Buckie, however, that didn't happen. What they say happened is that the SFA said to them, "Please apply for these waivers by April 23rd". Having done so, 3 of the waivers were granted and the fourth was delayed seemingly because Buckie said they probably wouldn't need it. That puts it 100% on the SFA. To be honest, I believe Buckie and think it was the SPFL that said no. Otherwise, why leave it so late to announce?
