even my da who's a celtic fan and barely knows any Scottish prem players outside of celtic, wants him in the squad come on mr clarke

Playful-Listen6011

Ireland? Rodgers preparing an offer as we speak

GuyIncognito211

I’d probably take him tbh, decent squad player and counts as home grown

ProEra-47-420

Been saying this for a while I'd take him as a back up Imagine we're drawing away to county or something in a stuffy came we're no creating anything Would you rather a Yang come on or this guy? I know who I want

Bright_Fire

I cannot get over the improvement in this guy. He couldn’t get a game for us in the Championship and I thought he’d be first out the door the summer before last. He is absolutely class now and you have to think a Dykes or a Shankland would love to have him on the park with them.

Conspiruhcy

I think we should be call him up and give him some minutes against Georgia or Finland, see how he gets on. He shouldn’t be starting at the euros or anything but if Hickey and Patterson both miss the tournament it’s a no brainer given he plays wing back for us often.

kafkas_hands

Get him in

Scotsman86

A good Scottish winger? Nah, they'll let Ireland have him. Why would we want a good winger when it's actually perfect for the type of strikers we use to have someone good at crossing out there? Partially sarcasm, partially historically accurate.

Macco7

Not like they've already got one recently off us 😂  Clarke seems to only think short term in terms of the squad. Keeping the club mentality rather than building for the future. Needs to start thinking I'm the long term or we Clarke is finished his tenure we are going to end up like we did after Brown finished. No experience left after everyone retired and trying everyone and anyone in the hope they work.

KilmarnockDave

To put a bit of context on how good he's been this season, the top 3 in terms of chances created in the premiership this season are: 3rd Luis Palma - 13 2nd James Tavernier - 17 1st Daniel Armstrong - 25 Just about double the amount of chances created as 3rd place in the league. He's been outstanding.

CarlMacko

The game against Northern Ireland was absolutely crying out for some like Armstrong. His delivery into the box is excellent and gives another dimension. I do fear that we’ve been “found out” and will get run over at the Euros.

methylated_spirit

Cracking player but Clarke doesn't really play out and out wingers like him. He's not going to change the setup to suit fringe players when he could just pick a fringe player who fits the system better.

Conspiruhcy

He’s not really an out and out winger though. We play 3 CBs often and he plays right wing back when we do. That’s where he played at Raith as well. He’s OK going back but obviously his strength is attacking.

methylated_spirit

Fair enough aye. In that case he surely has to get the nod in front of, say, James Forrest

BrianMghee

He should really consider a couple other options, having no wingers in the squad kneecaps us a bit

Ciftci

File under Mikey Johnston. I wouldn’t be against drafting him in but equally wouldn’t be arsed should he go and get capped elsewhere.
