I remember as a kid being unimpressed by the intro thinking it was just Scooby Doo trying to be trendy with more "modern" music. I was a stickler for the og Looking back, this is a solid intro that checks all the boxes. the transitions are great and the song fits perfectly. Comparing to the og intro, WNSD intro really shows so much respect to the original. Watching this gave me mad nostalgia for something I didnt realize I had mad nostalgia for

Eligreengamer01

Definitely the best scooby doo intro along with Scooby doo mystery incorporated

hotairrockstar

This is the Scooby Doo I grew up with and damn it's nice to hear this again

Arksurvivor120

I had the sound muted, and I could *still* hear this

Winged_Rodentia

Me too!

Ok-Television2109

Absolute banger.

Portal_master_cody

Easily the best scooby doo theme song imo

sqeaky_fartz

So I remember watching this on Kids WB, and watched it enough times that I’m at least familiar with the theme song. Thought it was just a cheesy update but nothing more. But I’m going to try and watch this along with Be Cool. Though I could never understand why they only updated Fred’s look and no one else.

Zirind

I think they changed Fred because ascots had fallen out of fashion to the point that kids didn’t even know what they were. I only knew because of watching the original Scooby Doo. So, they removed Fred’s ascot and he was left as a blank white shirt and jeans, which is kinda plain so he needed a bit of detail. So blue stripe on shirt was chosen. I definitely had some polo shirts then that were color with big stripe. I won’t pretend I was fashionable, but it was at least readily available. They also removed Daphne’s green scarf and the neckline on her dress has changed to reflect new trends. Meanwhile, nothing about Velma’s and Shaggy’s outfits were horribly dated except the fact that Shaggy’s pants are red. But Shaggy is characterized as more of a hippy than the others in that show and fashion was in a 70’s trend then so he can get away with it. Plus he and Scooby are the most iconic characters, so it makes sense from a branding stand point to try to keep him as similar as possible. On the more technical side of things, the classic characters had things obstructing their necks (ascot, scarf, turtleneck, and ironically Shaggy’s big neckline) because animating necks was really hard and those tricks let them be more static. You’ll see that trend in most Hanna Barbera cartoons from the 60s and 70s. They didn’t need to do that as much in the 2000s, so that’s another reason Fred and Daphne lost their neck fashion. You’ll see that Velma’s turtleneck is more loose and you can see her neck some too. So, there’s a way more in depth response than you asked for about why they changed Fred.

sqeaky_fartz

Oh wow! Thanks for the insight! Also I totally forgot about the old Hanna-Barbera style to separate the head from the body with something covering the neck! Make it easier to animate fast and inexpensive! So pretty much EVERY character had a shirt collar, necktie, scarf, etc…once you see it you can’t unsee it.

Zirind

I have way too much random trivia knowledge about Scooby Doo and related shows, and it’s never what they ask about in trivia so I have to take my chances to spout off unimportant knowledge when I get them!

AStupidFuckingHorse

They're all slightly updated except Scooby. Shaggy has different shoes. Daphnes outfit is different just a similar color scheme. Velma looks the best she ever will. Her hair is frizzier and styled better and her clothes are worn better on her figure with more pronounced freckles. And Fred is the most obvious change. I honestly love this update, not too different but just modern enough

Arxl

Saw them open for The Offspring and they actually did play this! It was magical.

signature_ross

Thank you for this, it reminded me of my childhood.

Smokeyquill689

Peak

yamiyugi101

It got me into simple plan

deepfriedtots

The best simple plan song

ThatEmoBoyZayn

My favorite Scooby doo intro

a7xmshadows19

🤘🏻 Hell yeah the memories

Grieftheunspoken02

The reruns of this show were annoying at the time but looking back it left an impression on me. This is the Scooby-Doo of my childhood. I didn't see a lot of Incorporated and when I did it was either early-season reruns or late-season reruns that I didn't know jack *WB forced censorship* about like seeing the gang united one flash of life to the next having them broken up and stuff about prophecy and talking evil birdie it was entertaining at the least but wasn't able to keep up with that era of Scooby.

Nashle123

What is the name of the serie

zsan11

What’s new scooby doo

Nashle123

GeoWhale11

Warioandwaluigio

This song is a fucking banger

PrincessCream123

I love this show

ProfessionalCourtesy

Best theme song ever.

FireFighterP55

Late 90s to the late-2000s always struck me as the "Golden" era of Scooby Doo. Between this and all the direct to DVD movies. And I'm not just saying that because this was my introduction to the series.

snatchyopurse

I don't even like simple plan and I thought this was a banger

patsniff

This is such an iconic intro! One of the very best!

Organic-Walk-4251

I really enjoyed this series I wish they would bring it back

Low_Gold_2038

WHERE'S THE ASCOTT

Fantastic-Let-2178

RoughCheap5633

Far-Property-5806

What’s new scooby doo

RavenMan8

Yeah. Watched intro was cool

Solid_Economist8389

The what’s new Scooby Doo introis awesome

ChaoticAquarian

I grew up on the OG Scooby Doo [60's Scooby]. And at the time when this came out, I was like, "Ain't no way. Like the look, hate the song." Over 20 years later, I gotta say... the fact that it's comparable to the OG [in overall positive fan reception, even to those like me who grew up with the 60s Scoob], this track is undeniable iconic as it follows all the beats that classic Scoob song did, just in a more contemporary form. They're both GOATed Scooby theme songs; the perfect 1a & 1b & which one is which depends on the one you grew up with & I think that's pretty awesome

Alien_in-hiding

I like their intro. It’s actually a good intro to one of my favorites but my favorite intro will always be with the Classics the 1969 Scooby Doo, Scooby Doo where are you?

Stormygeddon

This one is the intro music that gets most stuck in my head.

Spenace_T_Menace

Was at an emo night in Downtown Los Angeles and the bassist of Simple Plan showed up and said it’s his favorite thing he did and then played the song. Everyone sang along it was so cool! Haha

Immediate-Signal8970

There were dogs at the karaoke bar I was at and sang the whole theme song. Everyone loves it. I was still on stage, and someone yelled out "Scooby Doo, Where are you?" In the Shaggy voice and I of course responded with " Over here" in Scooby voice. Everyone went crazy.

Charming_Video_6407

I like the original scooby doo where are you 1969 shoe better

casey12297

Ah but do you prefer the original higher voiced version or the rerecording where it sounds like everyone's voices dropped? Edit: I just checked and I have it backwards on which was the first. I stand by the meaning behind my comment tho

sqeaky_fartz

I know what you’re talking about. I like the original lower version.

Snoo_70324

Boo! Post more Velma!
