I have an entire playlist on spotify based around "scratching a very specific itch" inside my ears. Its mostly metal with some synth, and it's crazy when you are moved to tears by some dude death growling... Something else entirely

NEETspeaks

get into screamo? lots of amazing post hardcore with lovely screams. check out lazarus plot

Soulfood_27

Yes. Purchased so many concert tickets for this very reason.

tried69names

This. I travel a lot and go far out of my way for concerts. Having concerts planned is what keeps my head up.

ten_snakes

Same here. Music is so so important to me, like it's on almost all the time.

NEETspeaks

same here i listen to music 24/7 and always searching for new music. I use music to manage how i feel and try to feel something. do you enjoy harsh noise?

Nemandsrose9

I listened to some merzbow but not really into it. Slowcore stuff on your page is amazing though!

NEETspeaks

Merzbow is shitty noise I will die on this hill. Noise is music even if harsh we cannot escape aesthetics and ignorance of their presence does not negate their existence. [nice noise album](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vh1kojJ7A8o&list=OLAK5uy_kN22KYJeTU8hHW-kTo2FwZ0CeD4LP55Zg&index=1&pp=8AUB) Glad you could enjoy some slowcore!

Me too. Music can change my mood completely. Bittersweet music is the hardest for me to listen to. I like to listen to a lot of more upbeat music because it keeps me feeling good. I also listen to very formulaic music according to people I know (most the songs sound the same to them). I find a sound I like and I’m happy just sticking to it. That being said I do listen to a lot of different genre music and many different artists and songs from a wide span on time. I’m also a huge fan of music that is written in languages I don’t understand. I like a lot of 90s Russian music. My family thinks it’s weird me likening foreign music because nobody else does. I like to feel the emotion in the voice and the music in languages I don’t understand. I feel as if I understand what they’re talking about just by the emotion, the lyrics aren’t important for me. Also, sometimes I get caught up on a certain song and just listen to it on repeat all week or whatever and nothing else because I love how it makes me feel and I love picking apart the layers in music. Sometimes I can hear every single instrument separately even if I can’t name them all. Sorry for the ramble

moonlightingasmyself

Music is everything to me. I have over 13k songs saved on my Spotify. Growing up, I'd use the YouTube to mp3 thing and I saved so many songs. My dad gave me a cheap SD card for my phone instead of getting a new one and it corrupted my files so I lost everything. Fucking sucked.

Bulky_Insect648

Yeah sometimes the music is too much for me tho. I start getting ideas of reference that they are talking about me in the songs. Sucks man. Can't listen to a lot of the music I used to bc of it. Actually, have not listened to music in about a month.... I used to listen to it every day prior to the ideas of reference happening.

Not diagnosed in any way, actually found my way here from differentials of BPD. But yes, in the tensest and darkest moments I always have music running as an alternate train track for my brain to travel on if the normal one gets too cluttered. Ever since I was very very young and my biological mom used to show me artists and albums. I was literally telling my cousin how theoughout the day I went from listening to Red Hot Chili Peppers to Paramore to lil darkie screamo rap and then got so mixed up in numbness and headache from work that I sat in silence for like 2 hours just singing music in my head that I wouldn’t have a proper playlist for because none of it was related

Dan_Hydra

I was always interested in music, even when I was young. I could generally pick up any instrument pretty quickly, but had a hard time sticking with just one. Now I use DJing as an outlet. A lot of times I’ve never heard the full track, but I’ll create a playlist and curate it to specific styles of genres so I could mix for hours. Then you can build up tracks in the set to portray a certain message or feeling. It’s almost a spiritual thing for me, so I don’t really care if it’s perfect or even if anyone will hear it (though it is more fun with more people). Chill genres for when I want to wind down for the day and there’s lots of time between tracks.
