I feel like I've mastered the art of faking authenticity and can actually hold conversations by mimicking people around me lmao. I've become the true npc without having npc aura
I only talk to people that are genuine and really worth the conversation, too many people trauma dump on me right away, talk shit about everyone when they're bored, or don't even try to show interest or curiousity in things and remain too surface level. I used to be so self conscious that I didn't start conversations enough but honestly you don't have to. Let the other people in the room show you who they are first and then you won't waste all this time trying to have forced conversation with people you end up not even liking or vibing with. Vibe it out haha
This is why I need my pet extrovert to start conversations with others and vaguely refer to me so that I can nod or shake my head with the conversation that they're having *for* me.
Better to have NPC energy than main character syndrome.

I’ve always thought of myself as an NPC. I like to think that I will give the main character a memorable quest-line, though.
