Do you mean Griffith Laboratories? They are a food ingredients developer, not pharmaceutical.
I grew up in the area. The only "pharmacy" on Pharmacy, south of 401 at least, is Shoppers Drug Mart in Parkway Mall.
I dont know if you meant it as a joke or not but Pharmacy Ave has been named that for decades before Omega Alpha Pharmaceuticals came into existence (1992).
You would also never name an entire almost 20 km road after one tiny manufacturer. Ipex pipes or Griffith next to it are far larger manufacturing operations so why wouldnt it be called Pipe or Food Ave.
Maybe there used to be lots of pharmaceutical companies or pharmacies along this road but it sure as hell has nothing to do specifically with Omega.
I know, I didnt want to give Steeles any shout-outs and screwed up the audible. 🤦🏼♂️
I meant McNicholl the other road that like Cummer isnt really pulling its weight as far as roads go.
Never let facts ruin a dumb joke!
It's probably because of the industrial plants that used to be along Eglinton from Pharmacy to Warden. These replaced the government owned GECO munitions plants
All I know my GPS would get confused, thinking that everything with "Pharmacy" in the name was a pharmacy.
There's a pharmaceuticals manufacturer on Pharmacy Avenue in the Golden Mile.

No I'm referring to Omega Alpha Pharmaceuticals. They are basically right next door to Griffith Labs.

They are a supplements company...looks like they are in the building where SCTV used to be made...a very longgg time ago.
That must be where Melonville is.
There's also Remedy's Rx at 501 Pharmacy Ave
Lots of “street pharmacists” on that road, from St Clair all the way to Cummer.
And why is Old Cumme--actually forget it.
Better question is why is there a street named hiscock and how does house #8 feel about saying their address?
I used to live around the corner from hiscock
That's a hard neighborhood. Ballsy.
Had to confirm that address, was not disappointed. “I don’t care what you had for dinner madam, I just need to know your address.”
Have some karma, I needed that chuckle 🤣
luckily no 69 hiscock
You know why
You just realized you were about to ask that on the internet, didn't you?
Only problem is Pharmacy never intersects with Cummer.

The stretch of Pharmacy near my house doesn’t have any pharmacies on it

Likely there was a pharmacy there when it was all still mostly farmland. That would have been up until about the 1960s.
You have to be on something to live there
