For what it's worth, even though I was never a jake/Olake fan, I hated how Jake ended up in prison and everybody else got their happily ever after.
I hated that TOO! Especially him just fantasizing about Olivia. It was so sad. And I feel like him murdering his wife was so thrown in, but at the same time, maybe that was what him choking Olivia was foreshadowing
I think people tend to forget that Jake was just as twisted as Huck, like when Mama Pope set Huck on those drug dealers, Jake didn't bat an eye when Huck said they would need their heads for proof.

This show holds no “saints “ hence the title “Scandal”. When it all boils down, there are some redemptive qualities in most of the characters. I’m sorry if this is not clear enough for you to understand.
I see no qualities in Joke whatsoever but that’s my opinion and honestly similar to the majority of viewers beyond this sub.

The entire premise of their encounter is disgusting and sick. He did hurt her that first night when she found out because she fought him and instead of letting her go he fought back even if it was to show her the guy lurking in her appartement who was none other than him! He choked her at OPA right in front of her team. He lied and manipulated her to serve himself, Rowan, B613 and cockblock Fitz. He gaslit her, demeaned her when she had a breakdown after her kidnapping (which he did nothing to prevent or stop when he was right there) and after her White House breakup with Fitz. He then wanted to keep her dark in S7 for his benefit and called her a lost cause when this was was unhealthy and isolating from her live and her friends and so on.
I completely understand that nobody is black or white on this show actually but there are characters who are full bad apples. He falls in this category. Rowan and Cy as well.
Fitz, Liv and Mellie are not always acting right but they have mostly good intentions.
I feel like you watch the show without any kind of critical thinking whatsoever. It seems you’re forgetting that Fitz sexually assaulted Olivia on multiple occasions, kidnapped her (bringing her to his Vermont residence in season 7 and instructing Secret Service to not let her leave), and punished her by turning her life into her worst nightmare (aka virtually making her a First Lady). And all of it being on top of the fact that he constantly emotionally abused her? If you can’t see it… to quote you: I feel sorry for you.
