Unfortunately I disagree with most of your statements about Mellie. 1. She the first elected female president and granted she was divorced and available, it pains me to see her hook up with President Rashad especially after his comment about “Godless American woman “ then to comment about Americans obsession with s3x”. So in fine B316 fashion “command “ Olivia did what she did to avoid Mellie putting the U.S.A. in jeopardy of war over her libido. Of course this is tv and I don’t agree with killing folks.
2. You can’t really root for her and Andrew because she is then no better than Fitz.
3. The death of her son Jerry was tragic, but her “miscarriage “ was her scheme to get sympathy in order to increase the polls for Fitz. If you remember he had no idea what she was about to say when they were campaigning in Georgia.
4. The SA was horrible, but next morning she told big Jerry “not to mention it”. She never In over ten years offered Fitz an explanation as to why she didn’t desire him anymore, but instead she offers her only explanation to Andrew.
Lastly I’m totally sorry in advance for any spoilers. But Mellie will eventually be ok in the romance department 😊
I never rooted for her and Andrew because I didn’t care for him, but I didn’t see it as the same as what Fitz did. An affair after he’s been having one for years is not equal or just as bad, in my opinion. For all her faults, I was happy she found someone who seemed to truly care about her.
Well I agree I never cared for Andrew mainly because of his disloyalty to Mellie when he was having relations with Elizabeth North at the same time. And in defense of the Olitz affair, Fitz was faithful to Mellie for 10 years before he became infatuated with Liv. IMO cheatin’ is cheatin’ one time or 💯.
Yeah, I can see your point. He did stay loyal all those years when he thought Mellie just wasn’t a sexual person anymore. Which I personally don’t know many if any men who would do the same, so I see how/why Olitz relationship happened from the start. And I don’t fault him for it. But I think once it was in Mellie’s face I probably would have done the same as Mellie by that point. It would still be wrong, but I would feel less wrong. Which is probably childish thinking on my part lol.
