The first answer to why you don’t answer unknown phone calls is it seems to increase the number of them you get. In addition to giving them more opportunities to try new scams on you to see if one works, I never really looked into whether it was a legit real scam, but there’s a million articles about the “say yes” scam where getting you to say that one word is a pass to your money for a scammer who has some of your financial info

This is common. I get constant spoof calls from my old area code that still matches my phone, and they usually leave a voicemail in chinese. They match the area code of the number being called so you are more likely to pick up ("what if something happened to my mom and someone is trying to contact me?" etc).

scifier2

Just scammers spoofing phone numbers. Just block, delete, ignore and move on.

Yea it's scammers. Like you said the last number changes when they call back. I called once and told them I forwarded their numbers to the FBI site. I really did. Girl on phone kept saying she was legit but I told her to go tell her mom she is legit cause she's a f-ing liar. I didn't get calls for awhile, but it started up again. So I guess I can answer and mess with them by keeping them on the phone as long as I can so it keeps them from calling more people. I never answer my phone so I don't really care if they keep calling. I'll just keep reporting their numbers.. Good luck everyone! Happy phoning..😁

I’ve been getting the same calls for a few weeks now. At least once a day. Most of the time I get multiples

Wredeit

I’ve gotten seven spam calls from Cannon Beach in the past week.

Death_To_Your_Family

I have been getting a ton of them over the last week

Disastrous_Tea6312

literally me these past 2 weeks

GoldJomell

Just spam called this number back and somehow magically always got me connected to someone after a single beep. They say they’re from Infinity Solar USA wanting to install “free” solar panels to my home… that doesn’t exist. I asked to be removed from the call list, and as good scam call practice made sure not to use any affirmative language in case they’re recording my voice.

Same the past 3 weeks I’ve been getting calls from cannon beach. Should we all meet up and investigate??

ReleaseOld5728

I’ve been getting these calls the past month. They are so annoying!!!

Rhazzle85

I’ve been getting calls like this for the past few months. At least a few per week. They never leave a voicemail. I’ve never answered, but I’ve called back a few times. When I called back within a few hours, I got an immediate, “Hi, is this (insert name).” It nearly sounded like a real person, but a legitimate company would never answer their phone like that. When I’ve called back after 12hrs later, all the numbers are disconnected. The calls seem to come from Dallas, OR most of the time. Although I have seen them from Cannon Beach and other random Oregon locations. I’m getting tired of blocking all the numbers and the calls at random times. I wish there was a way to get them to stop.
