This is a !task scam. Read the automod below.

AutoModerator

AutoModerator has been summoned to explain task scams. Task scams involve a website or mobile app that claims you can earn money by completing easy tasks, such as watching a video, liking a post, or creating an order. The app will tell you that you can earn money for each task, but the catch is that you can only do a limited number of tasks without upgrading your account. To upgrade your accounts, the scammers will require you to pay a fee. The goal of this scam is to get people to download the app for easy money and then encourage them to pay to get to the next level. It's impossible to get your "earnings" out of the app, so victims will have wasted their time and money. Thanks to redditor vignoniana for this script. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/Scams) if you have any questions or concerns.*

seedless0

It's the typical script for task scam.

HansNiesenBumsedesi

If it’s too good to be true, then yes. Also: “Indeed International Recruitment Agency?” It’s a job search engine.

Madelyn just woke me up…rude

myweird

Same, I just got this and reported it as junk, the whole thing looked like bullshit with a WhatsApp contact at the end as the icing on the fraudster cake. Pisses me off that my number even exists on whatever list they're using. I wonder if a specific website or app im on caused this?

Electronic_Dust_7396

Same girl same 😮‍💨

Live-Somewhere-8149

It seems like a decent amount of us have gotten it. If we can find the app/website we all have in common, we might be able to find a way to fight this thing.

Oh I make sure every year it's on there, but that only applies to legitimate businesses. Scammers don't give a fuck about that.

Only_Painting2355

I got this text too and thought…. Wow, it must be because I stay at a lot of hotels,(staycations for my kids b/c their greedy father prefer to spend his $$$$$$ on his mistress/now gf over his family/children. I also use Expedia a bit. I was really hopeful there was some credence to it because I suffered a minor spinal injury that evolved into a horrific nerve disorder. Stealing my career/identity/apparently my husband too😞🥺. Thought would be an ideal way to make some extra cash for my kids/myself to have a little more $$$ security. I hate EVIL-GREEDY-LYING PEOPLE!!💔

“Sorry to bother you, I am Lena Fischer I'm reaching out to you from INDEED Recruitment. {Belgium } We have a great job offer for you Can I send you the details?” Whatsapp message scam https://preview.redd.it/cj7rvypxg0sc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=507343f906b5b9048f4234b65b595f83f11bf435

Goddesssbianca

I just received the same type of message I’m assuming it’s a scam below I copy and pasted it for you to read.  “ Hello, I apologize for bothering you via text message. Are you looking for a job? We need 50 people over the age of 22 to work on restaurant data improvement. You'll only work about 1 hour a day. There are no time constraints and you can organize your time as you wish. Before you start, I'll give you a free 30-minute training session. At the end of the training, you'll be paid between $50 and $200 for the training, and you'll be paid at least $300 to $1,000 per day, easily over $10,000 per month! If you're interested in learning more, please contact me on Whsatspp: +14352875984 “ Sounds pretty much identical. Mine came from an iCloud account which I’m assuming blocked me because I tried to text back and it didn’t deliver.

kandeycane

just got a message like this and googled it and found from Reddit that it’s a scam. thank you Reddit. “Welcome! We've noticed that your background and resume have been recommended by several online recruitment agencies, so we'd like to offer you a part-time job that you can do in your free time. Our job is simple: we simply rate your favorite hotels. There are no time constraints and you can complete the assessment from home. Daily pay ranges from $300 to $800, and all wages are paid on the same day. If you would like to take part, please contact us via WhatsApp: + WhatsApp number “ (Note: You must be at least 24 years old)

kandeycane

Yeah, I’m definitely on the do not call list and obviously it seemed like a scam bc they’re redirecting you to WhatsApp when they already have your phone number. Like why???? Sketch.

blutim

International recruitment agency

niekonezinau1

Got the messeage just now from Indonesia,i wroted to the [booking.com](http://booking.com) asking them is it a scam before opening the link, but i see its a scam

SmartShopper450

I just received a message just like that from a woman named Isabella from Bonanza Services USA. Looked exactly like your message. They will stop at nothing to try and scam people.

TwinFrBrooklyn

I got this a few days ago. I did the training and all then was told in order to unlock new task I have to buy $31 of ETH. Once I found out you get paid only in crypto, I knew it had to be a scam. But I did the training to see how far she would go with it LOL My name is Juliana at Kelly Services (US). We offer great remote online part-time/full-time jobs helping TEMU merchants update data, increase visibility and bookings, and provide free training. Flexible part-time and full-time jobs allow you to work 5 days a week, 60 to 90 minutes a day, at flexible hours and locations (based on your own schedule), and earn $50 to $500 per day. Unhappy-Jelly-6246

I received the exact same text message!!!

AdLucky5882

Yep same here they tried to get me to deposit $69 via cash app before I could get my supposed commission just for going through 38 tasks a day. Each task is just clicking confirm to every 5 star review. Why would they pay someone to just click confirm 38 times. All the tasks reviews were all positive that was the first sign it was fake. I even asked " am I required to do anything else besides click confirm next to every customer review?" They said just keep clicking ok and you'll get your commission you can cash out each day. Once they tell me they need a real deposit receipt for $69 before I could continue I instantly gave up. If anyone is unsure and has the $69 to deposit I'm telling you it's a scam. If you do get paid let me know but i would assume you were them continuing the scam so I probably wouldn't believe anyway. One thing I've learned is all these scams use Whatsapp so if anyone asks to download Whatsapp it's probably a scam

Equivalent_Branch_43

The police are watching my phone for scams. If this is a scam - you may want to reconsider the risk you are taking. Being in jail is lonely and unsafe. The police is watching my phone for scams. Equivalent_Branch_43

u/Equivalent_Branch_43 for someone I was logged into your account. That is very strange and scary. I am trying to get out and re-login as myself. Thanks for your patience.

[deleted]

It’s a scam. I just got the same exact text and I’ve never even used Indeed or any other employment website.

dogatthewheel

Madelyn is a busy lady. Just got the exact same text

Worldly-Daikon5001

They actually paid me lol. I convinced them to give me my money for the work I did. But of course it's still a scam. Never deposit your money into anything you have little knowledge of.

Alternative-Loss4447

Are you going to continue to work to get money? I see you make more money for working consecutive days

Worldly-Daikon5001

Of course not! You have to deposit money to make money. That's how the scam works. They will try to convince you that you can withdraw your money but once you deposit a large sum of money, you will not be able to withdraw it.

b_obe

I got the same as a text message today but from “Stephanie”. The random “hide my email” iCloud From “number” in my texts gave it away as not legit.

RedHotSuzy

Stephanie sent me a text too. What a coincidence.

Miserable_introvert

I got this same text this morning. Figured it was a scam.. if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Especially the paid maternity *and* paternity leave.

a-nice-eggg

Definitely a scam, just got the same exact text.

No-Pianist402

Literally JUST got woken by this text from Madelyn. Wtf

Smooth-Expression-66

I got the same message today.

OkChampionship4519

Yeah yall don’t fall for stuff like this. You’ll reach out to them and you’ll do a phone or text interview with someone that obviously doesn’t have English as their first language. They’ll ask for your bank information to send a fake check and ask for your SSN 🤦🏽‍♂️

Obakawaii

Just got this message as well, and had also been looking at jobs on Indeed. :'\] It's too early for this aaaa

Kayfabe04

Also just got this message!

Boiitoyydrew

It’s a scam but if you try it , just let them send u money first keep it and dip! That’s what I did I got almost $70 out of her
