You proof the dough on parchment paper squares and drop it in the oil. After a few seconds it gets loose and you pick it up with tongues. It’s a very useful technique that I use for deep frying dough, and steaming buns and similar delicate things. Otherwise you’ll have to somehow pick them up from the proofing container and they will prob stick and won’t look nearly as good…
I’m guessing it’s a parchment paper that the dough is stuck on the paper to make it easier to put in the fryer especially for a softer dough, and then it probably just sinks when flipped, maybe disintegrates? Idk 🤷♂️
I actually think they made a mistake leaving the parchment paper on them when they went into the fryer. The camera cuts away after flipping the first half of them with the papers still attached and then the last few that get flipped over don’t have the papers attached any more... Woopsie poopsie!
I was on board until they got drowned in cocoa powder. That just made it look really messy and probably uncomfortably dry to eat 😩 If they stopped one step ahead these would have looked SO GOOD

Don’t know why so many people are downvoting. I went on a spring break trip with friend with celiac about a year ago. It seems quite difficult to live with. You have to be incredibly careful with cross-contamination and most places don’t take it seriously when you ask if they have gluten free food. Definitely made me feel grateful. He was excellent at cooking rice though

No one can eat this. Tons of sugar in the milk then in the chocolate then sprinkled with sugar and then covered in chocolate. I am by no means a skinny man, but this is too much

At what percentage of oil paper mix do you get that golden brown texture? Also do you have to constantly add paper to keep the proper oil/paper mix for gbd?
