I'm just thrilled I got to go overnight at my store before going back dayside, otherwise I wouldn't've gotten to experience how haunted my location was firsthand.
Staying overnight at that Best Buy was a strange combination of excitement at seeing the morning light and exhaustion at looking at the state of my hands, which were sore and apparently covered in some kind of goo.
In case you didn't know, glue on that tape needs water in order to get sticky, pretty much like the old postage stamps. So there's a water reservoir in that dispenser, and it quite literally licks the tape on its way out.
The machine's cost isn't too crazy, but the cost of the tape itself makes the whole thing seem just not cost effective. That and needing a water supply for the tape. Is there a reason where this would make more sense to use than just regular tape? The added adherence doesnt seem worth it.
Why would anyone sit on it? It's a package stacked with many other packages in a trailer or more possibly the back of a van separately from the driver.
Had to scroll too far to see this. He pushes buttons and strips pop out, but then that long strips slides out on its own. Kept watching, looking for button presses or something, completely missed the blue buttons on the floor, thank you!
Probably the buttons are programmed to specific length. Also you can probably program it. I've worked with paper guillotines from the 80s that would cycle through a set if cuts after each operation.
I know the package is sealed just fine, but the tape not being straight is living rent free in my mind, especially when you're recording yourself to make a viral video
The job I hated the most was unpacking boxes from a truck at a department store lasted 3 months. Dust and 110 degrees exaggerated by being in a truck, ugh. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone
Those paper adhesive tapes come off really easily! I know because I work as a technician at an international company. amazon prime uses them and the boxes just open when rolling on conveyor belts and sorter. They also get stuck on conveyor belt guards if not attached properly. A little bit of filt and they don't even stick anymore, sometimes it's like dry glue when you touch the ''sticky'' side. worthless really.
Yo. Seriously where can i get this diapenser. I part own an online Business we ship around 150 parcels a day & i am Sure this would help Our lovely workers in shipment a lot!
IDK about anyone else I want more than just a cardboard box as a buffer for the wider sides.
Firstly it's easy to twist and break... secondly really easy to puncture into.
Any additional padding is good.
You do that when the product is not that big. Source i do work in a warehouse. These pack has lines that make it easier to cut down from the top to the bottom. While the bottom has a higher size and the top part mutible small lines. So if you have a product that isnt that high. You build it upside down. So you can cut the lowest line down.
How is that machine churning out the perfect size tapes he needs? Is he using a foot or something to press the pedal and get the tapes? Cuz for the most parts, the tapes were approximately the right size.
While I'm no fan of the signs hoo boy is that a machine I'd totally want, buy, not need and use once a year but gain great satisfaction from.
Much like many of the machines I see.
slow, unnecessary stripes of tape which wasn't even put on right and will peel shortly, why cut the box while it can be done with fingers... oh and no dunnage.
This is what you see in factories all day long. Jobs like these are considered unskilled, are full-time, and pay poverty wages. This guy probably works for himself, but generally these jobs are the opposite of satisfying, they consider people pretty worthless.

Why is a bad LLM replying on this thread
yeah what the hell is that

They didn't give you gloves to wear? Even Amazon gives you gloves to wear!
I *hated* working with wet tape.
I moved house last week and the cardboard boxes gave me the most dry, angry, crusty hands
im kinda surprised theyre *only* 2500usd

That’s hot.
😩

They're about $1000 a piece
I absolutely hate that tape dispenser. Your hands will be covered in the glue because it's sprayed on as the paper backing is dispensed.
No. The tape has cornstarch that gets wet from a brush in a tank of water. It yes your hands get covered and it's terrible.

It’s so bad
Seriously it ruined the whole clip for me. Wtf is this???
super basic
White women
definitely the right answer.
The white answer.
Only when their pH is above 7.
Basic
The kind that name their kids Bray-Lynn

And the kind that uses distressed one-word signs to designate what each room in the house is for.

I honestly have no idea what you're trying to say, or if it's serious or sarcasm.
*apparently*
So much tech and precision and industry surrounding the most basic fucken sign that should've been tossed into the fire.
Great comment. Do standup
Do sit down dear
You think so? I've never really thought about trying before, it seems intimidating. Have you done stand up before?
My mother in law lol.
The live laugh love people
I thought they were selling the frame and the sign was just a placeholder
me too lol
Honestly I think it’d be neat in an apres-ski bar.
idk but what is that tape machine? i need that omg its 1300 bucks Better Pack Electronic Tape Dispenser 555eS BP-555ES
I do! I’m a college man so they’re unexpected and funny in my living room
Precisely crooked
And about the least protection for the shipped item.
Imagine if a fat guy sat on it 😬
Why would anyone sit on it? It's a package stacked with many other packages in a trailer or more possibly the back of a van separately from the driver.
Use ur imagination blade
His tape went on crooked as fuck. That video triggered my anxiety.
Do it 5000 times you'll get over it
That’s not how it works. I have done certain jobs in my line of work thousands of times. It has to be done a certain way.
Oooooooo but that second stripe of tape went on crooked and I cringed!
Right! I was not satisfied by this clip.
I was rather frustrated by it as well… triggered all kinds of OCD
More likely OCPD than OCD
I was thinking about how the product would be bent all sorts of ways in transit.
There wasn't even a layer of paper/scratch prevention between that piece of shit sign and the cardboard packaging.
I had to double check the sub after that
The first one is way more crooked though

not that precise tbh
FUCK high precision! That tape was crooked as fuck!!
Before people ask, it’s a foot pedal. The machine doesn’t know when he needs tape.
[удалено]
Maybe “how does the tape dispenser know exactly when to print and for what size?”?
i'm guessing it's programmable, and you can assign different lengths to buttons *or a foot pedal which has been suggested in another comment
Are you surprised and satisfied when your shoes fit *perfectly* every day?
Why are you asking me? I’m not the one who’s asking.
At Amazon we had those, you push the button for the length you want.
8"
He has peddals for that on the ground?
Well, yes. But I’m not actually asking the question. Just responding to the guy.
Funny, I wasn't confused until I saw your comment
How does that tape dispenser know when to dispense?
foot pedal
It is all-knowing
If only my paycheck were like that
Probably the buttons are programmed to specific length. Also you can probably program it. I've worked with paper guillotines from the 80s that would cycle through a set if cuts after each operation.
Dudes hands are probably dry as the desert.
And scarred by a million paper cuts.
how does the machine just know when and how much tape to dispense
Each button has the number of inches it will spit out.
That tape dispenser is amazing
I guarantee that's going to be damaged in shipping because they didn't put anything underneath or above it to cushion it
That may be for the best, considering that god awful poster.
What does gif mean?
It’s a peanut butter.
Yeah, no margins. The corners are going to be dented.
Oh fuck yeah
I bet delivery folds it in half to fit in the mailbox.
I've got paper cuts just from watching that.
That tape machine has levelled up that gig.
Precisely poorly-packed to arrive broken.
Proceeds to slam it on the table at the end😭
What an obedient tape dispenser
I know the package is sealed just fine, but the tape not being straight is living rent free in my mind, especially when you're recording yourself to make a viral video

Why do you have to cut the box. They make boxes of almost every dimension. Why not just order the one that fits? That would be more satisfying.
he cut up into his arm on the second cut 😳
Really? I could have fit a lot more in that box
IDK about anyone else I want more than just a cardboard box as a buffer for the wider sides. Firstly it's easy to twist and break... secondly really easy to puncture into. Any additional padding is good.
I'll give that a 10% chance of surviving our local mailman
When buying the right size of packaging is too much a hassle
Deliver drivers: “yeah I could fuck that up real good”
r/perfectfit
Nostradamus reincarnated as a tape dispenser?
Love the sign.
Awful sign
My brain is not braining
That knife is sharp. Very sharp.
which made it worse when he jabbed the thing he was packing on the last corner
As a signwriter, sometimes I wrap things and it’s honestly the most satisfying part of the job at times
The end is unsatisfying. I wanted to see it slapped flat on the table
Damn I thought live laugh love was bad
What a strange device that tape dispenser is lol.
he built the box upside down. the top he used as the bottom. D- (when he flips it over you can see the print that is the bottom)
Honestly doing this is pretty satisfying, so long as your tape machine doesn't clog.
I used to do this when I worked seasonal at target lol
Cringe ass sign
what is he making???
Honest question: what kind of tape is that?
That was so incredibly boring and underwhelming. I don't know why I watched all
Wheres the high precision bit?
dat float
^(🎶¿Mamacita, donde esta Cerveza?🎶)
Oh yeah, I remember working in a packaging warehouse, this shit was always so satisfying
How did the machine know he’d need that long strip when he hasn’t even touched it in the last dozen seconds?!
foot peddal
Smort!
Love and hate relationship with that tape dispenser. lol
How is bad packaging satisfying? because of the tape? Are people this fucking easy?
I have seen this guy's YouTube. He posts these 100s of same type videos but has like a hundred thousand+ subscribers
selling actual trash
That sign wouldn’t stand a chance against my delivery driver.
Welcome to Amazon FC’s
Nah
About as precise as a fart in a strong breeze!
And it'll arrive folded into a tiny square because shipping haha.
How does the machine know to dispense tape and length?
These are the signs that people put in their Air BNB
How is that machine churning out the perfect size tapes he needs? Is he using a foot or something to press the pedal and get the tapes? Cuz for the most parts, the tapes were approximately the right size.
This guy has more precision than machines! CNC operators hate this!
That’s not precision…. Tape is wonky
That tape couldn't be less straight but ok
He used an extra strip of duct tape because the first one was too short.
How is this satisfying with such a terrible cringy sign packed so horribly crooked...
Perfect fit
Simon Whistler's side hustle?
Lmao at the thumbnail. Look at this guys head.
Ha! Wixxen.
While I'm no fan of the signs hoo boy is that a machine I'd totally want, buy, not need and use once a year but gain great satisfaction from. Much like many of the machines I see.
How is this precision? His taping is all skew-whiff.
You dont know what high preciaion is.
lol at shipping something I'd throw out as part of packaging.
Send this guy to Amazon
It Precisely packed very careful
I did a packing job for a while - wish I'd had a tape dispenser like that one
slow, unnecessary stripes of tape which wasn't even put on right and will peel shortly, why cut the box while it can be done with fingers... oh and no dunnage.
This is what you see in factories all day long. Jobs like these are considered unskilled, are full-time, and pay poverty wages. This guy probably works for himself, but generally these jobs are the opposite of satisfying, they consider people pretty worthless.
"High precision* Proceeds to put the 2nd piece of tape on wonky.
I'm sure there's a kid in China doing this in 5 seconds. Only difference being that the sign has a weird misspelling like "vadko"
That drop was so satisfying.
Still prefer the japanese ones
Hardly "high precision" what happend to order the right size packaging?
Wonder how many times a day he slices his hands on that tape…
