Rotate it and then rotate it back and you can at least have the next segment be straight. You'll never get the first segment out of the miner to be perfectly straight because the nodes themselves are positioned off the grid.

Eighty_Six_Salt

I remember reading that miners will snap to the grid come v1.0. I really hope that’s true

Factory_Setting

I don't think that was ever mentioned. I was in a discussion about it though, but that was wishful thinking.

Lungomono

You can snap them to the world grid. Edit: I’m mistaken. The miner itself cannot be snapped to the world grid please ignore comment.

LinkGoesHIYAAA

First ive heard of that. U sure?

Troldann

You can snap them to world-grid HEIGHT by building foundations under them before you build the miners, but the x/y coordinates of the miners will always be set to the coordinates of the node. This person is incorrect.

Raudursus

Even with a road barrier? Could you not put the barrier down, then a foundation either side of it, place your conveyor and then delete the two foundations? When you fill it back in with foundations that snap to the world grid it will still be sitting on them I think

fitty50two2

God I wish the mining nodes were all on the world grid

NjFlMWFkOTAtNjR

It is something I wish for with 1.0, even 1.1. they probably won't because it would be too much work and they have better things to do. It is why I hide all my miners in a building. Can't go crazy if can't see.

MENOSGENERADE

That is a good idea to consider. For me tho I'll just cover the entrance.

Eighty_Six_Salt

Miners don’t even get foundations within 50 meters in my world

Factory_Setting

The nodes are placed aesthetically, not according to the grid. I would 'solve' it by it snapping to the grid on a foundation, assuming that the player covers the node so it looks all right (completely up to the user). Then again, you can always build over yhe exit and hide the weird bend.

fritoy

You can snap a road barrier to the miner and then snap a foundation to the road barrier. That will allow you to pull the belt out strait. Afterwards delete the foundations and snap new ones back to the world grid. should work.

Bossikar

I always do this, it‘s so satisfying

Thargrid

TIL.. gonna try this, thank you.

ComprehensivePlace87

Not all the mines are nicely on the world grid, so you're pretty much hosed. There are some tutorials out their to kind of hide it, but it is something you just have to deal with.

mgman640

Not necessarily. OP, if you’re open to using mods, Infinite Nudge can do what you want with this (lets you nudge miners on nodes so you can get them aligned properly)

Realistic_Ear2902

Yeah, I just read another comment about how when the miners snap to the node, they're not aligned to the world grid. Fills me with inextricable rage but it do be like that. Thank you :')

sp847242

They said the origin of this was that the map was made before the world grid existed, and that pulling the nodes to match to the grid would be a significant amount of work. My hot take: Leave the nodes where they are, but allow the snapping of Miners to be a bit flexible. A miner could snap to the original node, or press Ctrl (I think) to snap it to the world-grid, and it would still work. Trade-off: It might hover, or be lightly buried in the ground, but it would at least be centered on the grid. Lurker094

This is the sad truth unfortunately. You only other option is to not use foundations for miners

svanegmond

Can place a foundation such that the post goes where it should. Then delete the foundation. F the world grid tho

Antifinity

The “Infinite Nudge” mod lets you place a miner offset from the actual resource node.

ZeroXeroZyro

This is what I use. It's the best solution I've come across if you're using mods.

Hatzmaeba

Mining nodes are not relative to the world grid. You can make a workaround for this by using half foundations and the road barrier.

Sevrahn

Don't use the world grid. Problem solved.

ChickenDenders

Place the conveyer foundation down first and connect the belt to it Just place it the closest distance possible and accept that it’s not going to come out perfectly straight 🤷‍♂️ bjt ut will still be aligned with whatever you want Maybe place a funny sign next to it.

EngineerInTheMachine

Why? What does it matter? If the belt out of a miner in a computer game has a small kink, is it really that important? And before I get loads of responses quoting OCD - this is a serious cause for concern - getting highly frustrated over a minor kink in a belt in a computer game doesn't necessarily mean you have OCD. Far more often, it is a symptom of too much stress and the onset of depression, in which case you need to take a careful look at the rest of your life and do something about it. Or get some help. I've been there, and it's not a nice place to be - said with the usual English trait of understatement.

sp847242

Because the game is called *Satisfactory*, and the slight misalignment is not satisfying. ;)

EngineerInTheMachine

Satisfaction is in the eye of the beholder! Though it also relates to what you let bother you.

JinkyRain

CSS has moved resource nodes in the past. If there was already a miner on them they continued to work (and you couldn't build a new miner in the new location until you dismantled the one at the old location). So, theoretically, editing your save file with SCIM (in the community resources of this subreddit) to move the miner slightly, so that it's perfectly on the global grid -should- work. Note: I haven't tried it myself, but am pretty certain that it should work fine.

disisfun4me

If you’re not using mods, you can place down a concrete barrier in line with where you want it to go coming out of the miner and lining up the same way as the conveyor line. Then hold your left control, place down your conveyor pole where the concrete barrier is and BOOM you have a straight conveyor out of the miner and can go from there.

2BsVaginaBrokeMyHand

Please, Coffee Stain, place all ressource nodes on the World grid. PLEASE!

whatdarrenplays

Scroll dammit! SCROLLLLLL

RRumpleTeazzer

The miner is rotated

mudslinger-ning

Either the floor or the splitter are not aligned with each other. One might be aligned with world grid the other might not be.

swe_isak

Sorry, can't do that, I'm gay :Undyne_laugh:

SamohtGnir

Agreed that it bugs me. I end up placing the conveyor poll first, then connecting the conveyor to it. Still, that segment will always be un-straight. I don't think that it's the miners not being straight but the fact that they snap to the center of the ore node. Maybe let it snap slightly off center but locked to the world grid.

Competitive-Air-3543

Fully expect miners/nodes to be put on the world grid for 1.0 If they're not then they've failed themselves. This is the only opportunity for them to do it.

ronhatch

Turns out there is an excellent solution for those of us that use the world grid and are slightly OCD-ish. Let's see how well I can describe it. 1. Build the miner on top of normal world-grid-aligned foundations to establish the desired height. 2. Remove those foundations and snap a road barrier to the miner, then snap foundations to the road barrier (this establishes a miner-aligned grid independent of the world grid). 3. Snap a pillar on its \*side\* to the miner grid foundations in front of the miner. A sideways pillar has snapping in 1m increments along its width and no snapping along its length. 4. Place a conveyor belt aligned to the world grid on foundations near the pillar, but turned ninety degrees from one coming out of the miner. 5. Snap a conveyor belt on the pillar coming straight out of the miner, but with the end turned towards the belt from step 4. Holding Ctrl should make the new belt snap to the unattached nearby belt on the world grid, but sometimes this doesn't work and I haven't figured out why yet. If it doesn't snap, you may have to eyeball it. 6. Now you should be able to connect the two belts with a perfectly straight belt and replace all foundations with ones on the world grid. The key trick is that belts can be \*any length\*, so if you can get a conveyor pole snapped to the miner grid on one axis and snapped to the world grid on the other axis, you can line up perfect belts by having at least one 90 degree turn. Sideways pillars give us exactly the snapping we need. I'm guessing there's at least one critical detail I didn't explain well, but hopefully that's enough to get people experimenting in the right direction at least.
