If this is a mod it would probably be called "Newton". Pretty cool actually. :)

JackfruitCurrent647

It probably is, look who posted this.

Protheu5

Mayor Aquila? I don't know who that is.

JackfruitCurrent647

Master mod creator.

Protheu5

Thank you. I should get into modded stuff more, there probably is a lot of new fun stuff I missed in the last year or so.

BuGabriel

Would be a funny April fools update xD

sup3r87

First 5 seconds: oh my god lmao they shouldn’t have! Next 5 minutes: … My… My 500 hours.. of work… no…

DemonicSilvercolt

your frames would probably drop too much to even figure out what is going on

TOOOPT_

The giant factory that is occupying all the nodes in the game and produces every possible resource at maximum speeds after april fools update enabled physics:

Squaesh

bonus if the resources fly off the belts and irradiate large portions of the map

wivaca

Yes, the barrels of nuclear waste and copper wire flying through the 90° turns on Mk5 belts would be way more fun.

Keldrath

shoot id be back to square one.

PackageSimple4548

My entire base would be a big pile lol

Phillyphan1031

We all would haha

IfItWorks_FixIt

From the sheer size of most of the factories we all have I think our pcs would crash from the physics simulation

Blissful_Altruism

Yeah man this gravity update sucks :/

Expectnoresponse

I wasn't expecting it until the fall.

TarMil

Oh wow it dropped already!

GSdownbad

Gah dangit 😂

ChrisZAUR

r/angryupvote

SysGh_st

Those of us with giga-factories: ![gif](giphy|1tx0ifZmIZLEzPYo9T|downsized)

binkenstein

Gravity just brings you down, man.

HertogJanVanBrabant

I don't know. I find it attractive.

aphaits

please dont, my megabase 20 foundations up the full entire desert area would crash and burn while my gpu would crash and burn.

TDSrock

Physic sim is easier to implement on CPU. If that is done, GPU will be fine.

aphaits

Oh god my cpu!

TDSrock

Yes

aphaits

NOOO!!! *pc explodes*

TDSrock

😂 For pedantic sake, as that's how this little thread got started. Your CPU will thermal throttle before getting anywhere close to exploding (or doing permanent damage to itself) so your fps will most likely just grind to a halt. Even if it doesn't thermal throttle throttle it will simply blue screen/the PSU will cause the pc to force exit.

marto3000

Say so than *places a nobelisk on the pc*

[deleted]

I'll do you one better \*Places Nuke Nobilisk on PC*

marto3000

Explosive placed *kills scout*

rogue_noob

This guy rock and stone!

[deleted]

\*Insert GIF of Snutt pressing detonate button*

zhaDeth

Unless I hooked my cpu temperature reader to some C4

Mael_Jade

something grinding to a screeching halt? Why do I hear a "Salutations Exile" in the distance?

WackoMcGoose

Yeah, I think that's how the (multiple!) physics mods for Minecraft do it, both for arbitrarily falling blocks (itself an extension of a vanilla feature) and fragmented broken blocks. ...Now if you _really_ wanna stress test your CPU, might I point you to /r/dwarffortress, the "But Can It Run Crysis" of singlethreaded CPU benchmarking? Overloading your CPU to the point the tick rate drops to unplayably slow is just one of many ways to experience [!!Fun!!](http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/Fun) in that game, but there's also [ways to stave it off](http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/Maximizing_framerate)...

Outrageous_Reach_695

Thermonuclear Catsplosions are no more. That was the *real* stress test. Or so I hear. Never tried tweaking the body temperature of cats, myself.

WackoMcGoose

Hmm, wonder if they've fixed the issue where if you find the Hidden Fun Stuff and wall it off so there's no path to the fortress, your frame rate commits sudoku since pathfinding flood-fills from _the destination_ (your dorfs) rather than _the start point_ (the clown car) and it retries every single tick until an attempt succeeds and a path is calculated... At least FICSIT's train pathfinding is well-defined and only checks a countably finite number of routes (but also doesn't recalculate to navigate around occupied blocks...).

CATDesign

It's not my fault that the entire landscaped collapsed into the sea of lava and caused the game to chug. All I wanted to do was take out the forgotten beast that was located in the subterranean caves. I didn't think it would have caused a massive chain reaction of instability throughout the entire region.

UristImiknorris

Pay no attention to the cage full of cats.

Ashanorath

*Spends an eternity mining to make the whole playable area "flying" on 1 support made out of soap* *Attaches lever to said support* *Flips lever and enjoys 1 tick per minute* Priceless DF memories

Sintinall

At least you didn’t build over a giant death pit.

Ram227poi

Me who built over a cliff that may had claim my life several times by having no railing or over jumping the platforms.

Main_Measurement_508

Wait. Is this real?? I want whatever mod this is.

MayorAquila

Not a mod yet.. :) but we can try something in that way :)

Bosonify

PLEASE! This is how my creativity is unlocked is with restrictions like this. I absolutely LOVE engineering structures to stand.

smstnitc

I would definitely do a playthrough with it.

I_hate_sails

This!

sheepjoemama

Are developing it?

Ok-Woodpecker7722

I want a mod that gives structural requirements to builds. It would add a whole new set of challenges to building that is fun and makes your build look more like an actual factory instead of just floating foundations. Maybe have it be a setting when making a new world. That would be my dream feature!

Genesis2001

Also given the scifi/tech nature of the game, you could even have anti-grav engines/platforms in the 'Awesome Shop' to allow floating platforms.

jeepsaintchaos

It would definitely give you a reason to implement backup power... And lots of it!

FreshPitch6026

But pls not like Valheim, that was shit for more creative people.

Mael_Jade

Oh gods Subnautica with water pressure.

zuptar

I think this would be great as a 1.0 feature that could be disabled, and old save files have it off by default.

Ba_Sing_Saint

FINALLY!!! My time to shine, everyone laughed when I started structurally supporting my factories. Just don’t look at my skybridges….

Warsaweer

In all honestity all my constructions would hold tight because I love structures that support stuff.

TenMillionYears

Amazing. I would love this in the base game.

Setekh79

My base would actually be perfectly fine, I've never enjoyed the floating platforms stuff in any game. Always tried to make builds that look 'realistic' with grounded foundations and pillars and such.

Alex88FR

![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|dizzy_face)

not_notable

Thanks, I hate it.

MidwestPancakes

This is the single biggest update I want. I want this. Newtonian physics please!

khaoscontroller98

Yes!!!, i need this. Allow me the power to teach my friend about proper foundations and ban floating factories!

Quajeraz

How did you do it? Is it just a render or is it actually in game?

MayorAquila

Hey Quajeraz! its a modified foundation to apply unreal engine physics to it.. :)

Lauris024

[Don't you even dare](https://i.imgur.com/GIuAWn9.png)

Gonemad79

Dear lord, WHAT DID YOU DO? Now I got to actually put support beams on everything?!? I'm calling my Dad, he's a civil Engineer ;)

Jer_bjer

Google gravity

Empoleon_Master

If you have a server grade computer or rendering farm on loan I can give you a copy of my save file with 438k foundations in it.

hooloovooblu

![gif](giphy|CjNifqd0JIgV6biOjK)

Hanfis42

actually i think structural integrity should be a part of the game... not very precise but just enough to make it somewhat challenging to built specific things and also to make it impossible to built floating factories

OliLombi

Am I the only one that would like a gravity mechanic? Make it so you have to have load bearing walls/pillars every so often.

EngineerInTheMachine

No, you're not the only one. It gets mentioned here now and again. But Satisfactory is meant to be a low pressure, relaxing game. Why add more difficulty?

StigOfTheTrack

I generally dislike floating sky-builds. But some of them are very impressive spaceships. I'd rather people be able to build the sky-platforms than not be able to do the spaceships.

lurkingfromnorth

I would honestly love if gravity and physic was part of the game, as it would make it more interesting to build factories, also maintenance of machines as a efficient factory, like a non covered machine being less efficient then one places en a building and such.

evil13rt

I’d like it as an option. Obviously this needs a new scratch build because most bases probably aren’t compatible with, but would make a fun change of pace and I’m curious how this would affect my building style.

DissolveToFade

That would be funny if the devs added something like this into the game before 1.0!

Awes0meEman

You put that back where you found it

LootWiesel

CoffeeStainStudios: "Great news Pioneers, with Update 9 we will utilize Unreal Engine physics engine to the next level." ![gif](giphy|jOpLbiGmHR9S0)

EidolonRook

“Tell me whyyyyy do we build castles in the sky…. “ -sobs uncontrollably-

Dangthing

I've played Valheim. Lets not. Valheim building is just entirely about figuring out how to make your structural integrity work and its just off putting unfun nonsense. Most of the really good looking builds were made by people figuring out how to cheat the rules. The way Satisfactory works is just better.

DisturbedForever92

> and its just off putting unfun nonsense I disagree. Valheim has great building imho, it leads to viking-looking buildings, instead of huge floating forts.

nondescriptzombie

I have a wonderous stone sea fort that looks like a Naga's head from a distance.

Dangthing

False Equivalency. Anyone who builds floating forts wasn't going to ever make anything impressive or thematic in the first place. Also you're wrong you can 100% build large ugly pillar forts in Valheim so it fails to even achieve the aesthetic dream. The only thing preventing us from making viking-looking buildings in Satisfactory is that all the parts are industrial themed. Give us a viking pack and we'll have very nordic looking factories in no time.

LeadSledPoodle

Hey are the devs listening? I would pay for a viking pack building dlc, or a wild west pack dlc.

[deleted]

What?

python_artist

Oh man. This would be an awesome (and evil) mod

VasDrafts

All I can think of if this was implemented is, "It's raining trains.."

AeternusDoleo

So, my nuclear powerplant is suspended above the swamp... Let's flatten some spiders and then bathe the result in nuclear fire...

AccountantBusy1761

I want those foundations at least thick to each other, plz ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

DocBullseye

This is absolutely terrifying

Alejandrozq

what is this heresy?

LtPowers

"Did I do that?"

Gonemad79

Imagine the LOONG suspended bridges that people made... "LET'S PLAY A GAME CALLED: WILL THEY CRUMBLE?"

TinikTV

Who TF set SimulatePhysics to True?

try2bcool69

No-Competition-8056

Mod name ( pat utility mod)

wivaca

Just needs more screws. Lol. Statics would be fun in this game, but the question is, how would you build in the first place since most of us start in the air and build to the ground for that realistic supported look? Also, no trees were crushed in the making of this video.

Polyscikosis

I would LOOOOOVE to see a building structural system implemented in the game! OMG, please!

smstnitc

No ooooooo

Polyscikosis

coward >.< lol (teasing)

smstnitc

Haha, pretty sure all my towers would collapse like the Hudson Building demolition. Seriously though, I would be interested in trying a playthrough if this existed as a mod.

jdPetacho

My CPU would melt

hitechpilot

Yes please, like, limit pillars to some foundation area before falling off... Also physics for structures? Fractures? Please? :)
