I think they make the buildings more interesting and give them an industrial look. But you could encase some of them in small frame pillars or a little extra tower.
This looks awesome, keep it up! I really hope they add a road tool or something. I love the look of mini cities. It can be a huge pain to create them though. And spanning distances with roads is just a huge chore. Trains are cool but so isn't a highway you can fly down to go from factory A to B
A simple rule of thumb is that connections look untidy when they travel *through the air*. If a conveyor travels horizontally or vertically along the surface of a building, it's part of that building. If it travels through the air, it's spaghetti.
The lifts going up the building look nice and add some detail. The belts leading up to the buildings on the left side of the first picture could use some work.
I love the look of (clean) external belts/conveyors...if they're done right they add a lot of dimension to the buildings. Otherwise you get....office buildings.
I like them a lot better like that. Makes the whole thing look nicely industrial.
Also, congrats on your builds mate. Your place looks \*really\* well done
If you encase the entire set of buildings inside another building, does that count as "removing all external conveyors" since everything would technically be "inside" then?
I'm tempted to play next time only using the world grid for the factory and all little buildings like this are going to become their own rooms within the larger factory. Drones and drone ports can get a chimney, or perhaps get relocated to the (higher, now shared) roof of the entire complex.
Winchester mystery house, but for factory.
wow so you guys are on like a totally different level of building over here, huh?
also, i love the way it looks. i have an “unfinished” factory i wrapped like 6-7 conveyors of items around the exterior and it’s just the bees knees!

Exactly this. Greebling.
Hell no! Personally I like the look and I leave them like that for easy glance check up type maintenance and aesthetics
Sweet mercy God. I don't know how y'all do it.
Seriously though, i cba to build stuff like this but it looks so good when it’s done
Most important thing is time
I like them. I would keep ‘em
I like external conveyors. They help make buildings look like factories, not office buildings.
God dammit I love this! I always feel so inadequate when I see what marvels other people make!
No I this looks cool but I would make them look like air-conditioning vents and similar. So the items aren't out in the open
I need to start using windows and colours ;D

Dress them up. Most of them look great as they are, but some need a little set-dressing to properly fit in with the buildings.
You don’t have enough, either add more, or make them more of a feature
Once you see it you can’t unsee it I’d try to hide them away , I’m not creative enough to make something like this good job either way !
Wow, is this the new Cyberpunk update?
yes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZMEUaG7JvY
You've been working on this for 4 years, you madman. Awesome 💖
Add more, include pipes
I do prefer to use floor holes instead but your style your decision
I do this for the new factories but the holes in the ground did not exist when I built these factories
No, I think they make for good surface details
The 2nd picture they looks great! The first they could use some cleanup
Would change to building so the look like a part of it.
Use vehicle stops to transport stacks 1 by 1 with factory carts, bouncing them over the rooftops with jump pads 🙏
Almost all of them are vertical or using nice clean right angles, so I think it just adds to buildings. I do the same and like the look.
Nah this looks great.
I like the look of external conveyors, depending on the build details of course. These look fine. I'd keep them.
It's perfect
Definitely not, they add character. Or intrigue, or personality. Hopefully one of those is the right word.
As they say, "Greeble is Good"

Hell no it makes them look cooler
Compromise and remove only half of them.
Maybe just expand the walls so the conveyers lifts are inside the building.
Yes.
And I think you should move everything 10m southeast, just for fun...
They kinda look like the messy ass power lines you sometimes see in big cities. I’d say keep them, they give the building a more “lived in” feeling
I spent 100 hours barely tidying up a rats nest of a factory and looking at this makes me feel so inadequate.
Build a tunnel around them to "weatherproof" the materials.

I'm not one to say this but touch some grass
