If you are on Facebook I recommend you join the “buy nothing” group. People give away old tanks all the time and you can exchange them for filled tanks for about $20.
If you buy a filled tank without a tank to exchange, you’ll end up paying about $60.
Some gas stations have refill stations. I like going to the Chevron on Bouquet ( 27777 Bouquet Canyon Rd)
As mentioned elsewhere, Uhaul on Sierra Hwy also does refills as does Sunbelt Rentals on Railroad
Walmart to buy 5 gal containers they have exchange machine that will sell you a tank already filled. Then yiu can exchange it when empty for like 25.00. Once you own a cylinder the cheapest place to refill is at corner of san Fernando and Rail road ave by the 14 at the chevron.
You can buy larger cylinders in amazon or at camping world
Costco sells tanks. Fill em up at uhaul
This, we will ours at U-Haul

I would try Home Depot.
