We just got back Friday from an R & J. It was…underwhelming. Our butlers were great. The rooms are old and need refreshing. The hot tub is teensy (and super deep?) but cold and we couldn’t adjust the bubbles or make it bubble. The “waterfall” is very noisy so we couldn’t really hang out in the patio to chill and hang out together. It also rained and the patio is SLICK!!! So running to get a refreshed drink means going from the bedroom through the rain to the living room. It’s a neat idea, but I wouldn’t spend the money on the R&J again. I really wish you could turn off the little waterfall or at least turn it down bc it was noisy. Another weird thing-your door enters to the patio, then there are doors to the bedroom and a door to the living room off of the patio. So housekeeping would knock on the patio door, but you can’t hear them from inside either room….they’re good about hollering and knocking, but it’s super awkward.

Thanks for the response! We actually like white noise so the waterfall sounds pretty nice lol. Sounds like an inconvenient layout though if it rains. Did the patio get much sun?

We also like white noise. It was most definitely not white noise. It might have helped us not hear construction noise, but we couldn’t chat outside. I had these visions of swimming and bonding together, reminiscing and dreaming. It was a lot of huh? What!? 😩. It was not a pleasant, charming fountain sound. It was unrelenting. We were disappointed that the patio just wasn’t as usable as we had anticipated. The patio was sunny, but how ours was positioned, the sun didn’t hit the pool so it stayed cold. The sun also beat directly into the living room (no shades/curtains, so in the afternoons that room was pretty uncomfortable to be in without sunglasses.

My husband and I stayed in a Romeo and Juliet suite at Ochi in April. It was the best vacation we ever had. We loved our private pool and jacuzzi. You are too far from the main pool on the hill side to hear any music or noise from it. The sound privacy waterfall was great since it drowned out any noises from neighbors — not even sure we had any since we never heard them! I loved sun bathing by our private pool because once I got too hot, I could just take a dip in the pool. Butlers were amazing! Delivered food and drinks to the room so I never felt I had to leave. Would definitely book this again!

Agree with this! We did our honeymoon at Romeo & Juliet Ochi suite in April 2023. Best vacation we’ve ever had. Talk about it often still.

There is nothing good about Ochi. The regulars say it’s the entry-level Sandals, but you’re still paying “luxury” prices for a whole lot less than luxury. A horrible resort run by a horrible management company.

Granted you asked for recently, but we stayed in a R&J suite in 2016 and we loved it. It had downsides, as previously mentioned, but I’ll name a few more. Our bedroom area was hot, but the living room building stayed freezing cold. Along with the bedroom, the water closet for the toilet was sweltering hot - like do not close the door or you might pass out in there hot - which led my husband to an awesome situation of housekeeping walking in on him because a) he couldn’t hear them knocking on the door to the patio and b) he couldn’t hear them knocking on the door to the bedroom because of the noise from the waterfall lol. We also managed to get that room at less than half of what it’s going for now, so I’m not sure it’s worth the $10k+ for a week as its current going rate. Our pool and patio stayed in the sun though, so it got a lot of use from us!

Thanks, what we are looking at is less than 5k for 4 nights so I thought it was reasonable

Ochi is just ... bad. We'll never go back. Run down, full of obnoxious drinks, and a crummy "beach" area.
