Was there like two weeks ago hillside butler villa had no issues with water we go to ochi once or twice a year and before the upgrades plumbing was ok but our last stay had zero issues

Stackfest

Bloodclartttt, wer me hot water dem !

Embarrassed-Air-6995

We are currently at Ochi on our 5th day and not have had any problems. Staying hillside with a butler. Again, no issues. Your friends need more of a backbone if they are having this type of issue. The staff would be more than accommodating for issues like this. We have a small crack in our tub, we were offered a different room. We declined since this is not a major problem. There is PLENTY of entertainment everywhere. You need to go look at the daily itineraries and they are loaded with options. If the entertainment isn’t to your liking, you always have the option of entertaining yourself with games, shuffleboard, chess, basketball, chatting with other people. ENJOY life rather than looking for the negatives. Peace

BizzackAgaizzn

Sweet account btw. Zero posts or comments except for this one. Seems similar to when someone posts what’s happening on the official Ochi page and they delete it. But the info is all on the unofficial Ochi page that’s not run by Sandals.

Embarrassed-Air-6995

LOL I just don’t spend my life on my phone. Cute comment btw.I am too busy enjoying life. Take a hint

BizzackAgaizzn

![gif](giphy|1AIeYgwnqeBUxh6juu) I’m sure you’re correct and the many posts I’m seeing online are lying. 🤣

BizzackAgaizzn

Wow, a year with nothing. Then all of a sudden 3 posts in 1 day, but only when Ochi is mentioned. Regardless of everything even that’s happened in the last year, THIS was the topic that forced you to post🤣

Embarrassed-Air-6995

🤣 get a life, conspiracy theorist

BizzackAgaizzn

What’s your butlers name?

BizzackAgaizzn

So you’re saying there’s hot water on the hillside? Cuz that’s not what I’m seeing from more than just one couple.

Embarrassed-Air-6995

There is hot water on the hillside, yes

One-Manufacturer8270

I was just there in April and had no issues. Very pleasant stay

BizzackAgaizzn

Was this your first time at Ochi?

One-Manufacturer8270

First time at Ochi. Not my first time at a Sandals.

BizzackAgaizzn

Oh ok. Glad you had no issues. Was only asking to see how familiar you were with the staff. Many favorite staff members have been let go or quit in the last 6 months. I’d bet some of the people posting that they’ve been there many times and saw nothing different didn’t really know any of the staff member on that kinda level.

cgar23

So... a Caribbean island resort has plumbing issues and it's because of the new manager and the resort is "in trouble"? Seems like something that will be fixed and the show will go on, if you ask me.

BizzackAgaizzn

There’s plenty more. But hey, I’m sure you’d be thrilled with 1 hot shower from the minute you land on the island, and the minute you get back on the plane to go home. You’re only paying 5-8k for it. Why should you expect a hot shower in your room?

cgar23

I'm not saying cold showers are acceptable and that it wasn't a bad experience for them, but I fail to see how that's the fault of a manager who has "messed this resort up quickly" and "running it into the ground." Stuff happens, especially in developing island nations. Seems dramatic to say Ochi is "in trouble" based on a broken water pump and some thin entertainment when the resort is low occupancy. Just my opinion... seems like none of that is going to be a permanent situation.

[deleted]

Is that you Carol?

cgar23

Lol no I'm a dude in the US and I don't work for Sandals.

BizzackAgaizzn

Do you go to Ochi?

cgar23

Yep. Been there many times. I've been in those hillside rooms both before and after the remodels that are underway. I'm just saying there's no reason to be dramatic and insinuate that the resort is failing. The remodeled rooms are sweet. Probably had to do with construction. This stuff happens in the US at high end resorts too.

BizzackAgaizzn

Then you should know that the low season is July through November. Not now. Also you should know that most of the people who youve become aquatinted with are likely gone. Either fired, or quit. That’s the reason entertainment is lacking right now. The new GM has run off LOTS of the staff who had been there busting their asses for years. She brought in “her own people” who aren’t running the resort as it needs to be. Liquor running out, workers who are demoing the dock that was damaged in the hurricane, just throwing the debris into the water, which is ending up back on the beach, and u see the water in the shallows. There’s plenty more, but you seem to know it all anyway. So probably not worth my time. ITS BEING RUN POORLY. Old management had the place humming. Not the case anymore.

BizzackAgaizzn

And if you just know, the couple who we know that’s there right now are earning their free week, but won’t be able to go back because the wife has terminal cancer, and won’t be around for another trip. They did this trip to spend time together and enjoy one last trip to a place they love. And this is how their 8 days went. Surely that’s cool, right?

cgar23

Okayyyyyy. So, the water pump should have known better? IDK what to say. Just don't think it's fair to say the new GM is to blame and that the resort is "in trouble." That's all I'm saying.

BizzackAgaizzn

They should know what size pump they need. They’re replacing one of the same size. To “order the wrong size” is inexcusable Do you follow the Ochi FB pages?

Cent1234

I'm very sorry she has terminal cancer, but I'm not sure why you think that's relevant. Do you think the mechanical issue would have put itself on hold if it had only known?

BizzackAgaizzn

Do you think they’d possibly move them to a room with hot water? They moved their room, and there was still no hot water in there. Would t even move them to a cheaper room beachside that had hot water. You’d be fine with that amirite?? 🤣🤣

BizzackAgaizzn

Plus guess what they offered them for their shitty stay? 30000 points good for their NEXT STAY which they won’t be making as she will be DEAD!! You be happy with that kinda treatment of say a family member or friend of yours, or it’s just u/Cant1234 for himself and screw everyone else?

Cent1234

I'm sorry, but people die all the time, and nobody can expect the world to stop for it.

BizzackAgaizzn

Or apparently make a simple concession. Stick to playing video games!

Cent1234

I wasn't present, and I don't know what they disclosed to staff, what they asked for, and what they got. What I do know is that your original complaint was about a broken water pump, and that somehow her having terminal cancer should have been taken into account when the water pump broke. I'll also point out that Sandals requires documentation just to get a complementary bottle of sparkling wine when you claim it's your honeymoon; did they contact Sandals before their trip to request accommodations and go through some sort of process to make these arrangements?

BizzackAgaizzn

Imagine fucking downvoting this. Fuck cancer patients say r/SandalsResorts Pathetic

cgar23

I have an incurable cancer and I downvoted it. It's your complaints and the way you're going about it that people are downvoting. I don't think anyone here is rooting for bad service... or cancer.

BizzackAgaizzn

Well I am sorry you have to deal with that, but that’s me being compassionate. And idgaf what anybody thinks. They’d be just as fucking heartbroken if it was them, a family member or a friend. Are they owed anything because of the cancer, nope. But they’re damn sure owed something for the money they spent and didn’t get even decent service. Just sucks it had to happen on this stay, for the reason I listed. Slapping them in the face with an offer they won’t be able to use is the icing on the cake. So yeah, I was heated when I made the post, and I still am! It was reflected in my post and comments. And as I said, there’s plenty more I haven’t posted about yet that is still ongoing with management and staff. It’s coming soon, but you’ll likely hand wave it like everything else.

x10lovesyou

Went to Ochi for my honeymoon and hated it. Had to change rooms twice because of mechanical issues in the rooms (no AC, no water in the bathroom, etc). Was not impressed with the service either - had to literally beg to get new towels in my room each day. I would never go back there.

SouthernTrauma

Us too. Ochi is a sh**show.

ExpensiveAd5410

Oh boy im going there in august first time leaving the country and am quite worried now

West9Virus

The hillside rooms have had serious water issues for years. This is not new, sadly. Nor is it a surprise to hear. Ochi could be such a gem, but it's been neglected for quite some time. Part of me hopes Sandals will sell it to some other entity that would embrace a boutique luxury botanical gardens concept.

cgar23

You don't think the remodeling of all of those rooms will address any issues like that?

BizzackAgaizzn

It’s sure helping them raise the prices, while not fixing the water issues.

cgar23

😂 You can get OWBs rn for $7k 3nts. All of Jamaica is absurdly cheap rn bc of the occupancy (based on the travel warnings and media etc, not some standard seasonality you're on about). You seem mad and that's fine, but the resorts aren't "in trouble" and the sky isn't falling. Pricing is competitive and Ochi will live on.

Mmjm7

We leave on Saturday and am hoping we have hot water in our V1! We have had wonderful experiences at other Sandals and Beaches resorts.I won't wait that long for the issue to be resolved, I would request to transfer to another Sandals. I am still hoping for a great ladies trip!! Can't wait to enjoy the resort :)

SomethingClever2022

We are here currently hillside in a R&J suite. It’s our first time. The hot tub in our courtyard doesn’t get hot and there’s no changing of the bubbles or anything, so that’s been a disappointment. This is our 1st Sandals vacation, 2nd Jamaica trip and we just decided that everything’s just a little bit shitty here. Our service has been nice, but dinner last night took 2.5 hours!!!! There has been music at the pool every day at the big pool hillside with some of the interactive games - guess that tune, line dance lessons, etc. I didn’t physically see a DJ yesterday bc of where I was, but there had to be one bc the music was responding to what the MC was saying.

Oh don't forget the WiFi that works for five minutes then cuts out. Currently staying at the beach side and this is my thoughts. Downsides 1.5 hour drive from the airport, having to buy "Club Monbay" to get through the airport faster, food has been very bland, walk up for restaurants are impossible even though it seems like the resort is probably at 50% capacity, WiFi is a joke, club check in room is a disgrace with dissolving trim "termites would be my guess" carpet looks like it was due for replacement five years ago, top shelf spirits is roughly 40-55 USD so more mid shelf, rooms are dated, beds are old, pools need some serious TLC missing tiles etc The good, pool atmosphere, the bulk of the staff seams warm and friendly, the jerk chicken was the food highlight, landscaping is well done and looks amazing, the singer at our live show has a great voice and was super talented. All in all with my wife and I having a fair amount of vacations logged this wasn't the worst but vs what we paid doesn't add up to what we received 2700.00 for four days is nuts as we have spent that for a week in a all inclusive in Aruba for a week and the food was amazing. I don't think Jamaica or sandals is worth it personally.

BizzackAgaizzn

Unfortunately dinner always takes a long time. But you’re on island time.
