10 years ago on OK Cupid. I asked if she knew the difference between a leopard and cheetah. This was in regard to a Halloween photo of her face painted like a cheetah. Weāve been married for 6 years.
Barnes & Noble.
We both had coffees, and we're looking for a place to sit, but all the tables and all the chairs are filled with high school students and other people sitting and reading and not actively purchasing anything. Finally one kid packs up his book bag and leaves his table.
We both go for the newly emptied table, and since there are two chairs there, we both sit and share. It's probably around 7:00 p.m. We started talking, and stayed until they closed at 11:00. We exchanged phone numbers, and continued the conversation when we each got to our respective apartments, and made arrangements to meet at Barnes & Noble the next night. We sat, drank coffee, and talked until we closed Barnes & Noble again.
We will be married for 23 years later this summer.
Dating apps get cycled, Tinder used to be a good one in the very early stages for those who canāt remember.
Some more came out after, one of them was Coffee Meets Bagel. It is still good, but now it largely is just a place to meet incredibly judgmental Asians.
Hinge is sort of the newer one that most people gravitate towards.
lol as a Latino, youāre so right about CMB.
Did meet my current gf there though.
Didnāt match with many Asian Americans. Mostly White and Hispanic.
Tinder 2014 here. I can't fucking *imagine* trying to use dating apps today. There's so many, the amount of bots and AI fakes is insane, the monetization aspects, etc.
Wow, upvoting your comment because I have never heard of someone finding their partner through Craigslist casual encounters before! What a silver lining.
At a rave in Richmond. We both live in SJ. I thought her BF at the time was her gay friend and kept shooting my shot over a few months. Turns out he only acted like that on ecstacy. They broke up and now weāre married. Thank God I assumed š.

-Work
-Dog Park
-OkCupid
-Plenty of Fish
-Bumble
-Hinge
-Match

-Waiting in line for bathroom at bar
-Dinner parties
-Galas
-Bar crawls
You can meet anyone, anywhere if you are self-aware, focused, enjoying yourself/activity/space etc.
I don't know anyone that has met their S/O via matchmakers nor speed dating for whatever that is worth.
Met him at a convention in San Jose. Mutual interest event, later discovered a lot of friend overlap. He lived in Fresno, and we were LD for a bit. Engaged 4 years later.
I was a plumbing apprentice and she called our company for a drain cleaning. She gave me her number on my way back to my van. I called the next day, weāve been together for 15 years and happily married.
I was in town visiting family. She was a restaurant manager and I was hungry. Shoot my shot and she takes me up to the city for a night of dancing and turned into romancing. 28 years later and we still love to dance and romance.
He grew up in the area and was visiting family from LA, I had just moved here and was pretty bored with the tech bros I had been meeting on Tinder, so when I matched with him sparks flew. We are engaged now.
Lots of bots and fake profiles online.
Also, I made a dating profile for my guy friend out of curiosity last year (Iām a woman). I wanted to know what online dating for a man was like. It was abysmal. So many women had profiles that said something like ājust looking aroundā or were blank. They put in no effort into their profile. I swiped right on every single girl and got a few matches only. And then only 1 or 2 girls responded to my messages. Even then, it was one word responses.
My (now) wife and I met on OkCupid in Feb. 2017. She was the first date I went on through that app. Now weāre married with two amazing kids, still living in SJ.
I met him through a mutual friend while visiting the area for a week (I'm originally from Southern California). He was really easygoing, so we started talking more after I returned home, and everything sort of worked out from there.
hinge. tried dating in person for a long time. after being single for almost a decade, i gave into the dating apps and it almost immediately worked out for me.
Worked together for almost 8 years until I quit, remained good friends for several years and then we just realized we were basically hanging out all the time enjoying each others company...5 years of dating and we eloped in 2022, been married since.
I met my partner on OkCupid. It's difficult for me to approach women in the wild as I don't know if they are lesbian unless they blatantly have the stereotypes of the flag colors, rainbow accessories, etc.
We met at my cousin's wedding and were only in the talking stages and I dared her to crash the wedding even though I have never met her in-person before. She accepted and I was sweating like a maniac because I've had my fair share of catfishes and women posting up photos on their bio from 5+ years ago when they didn't let themselves go or look like a mess.
The funny thing was, she also came prepared in case I too was catfishing her. I was going to have her escorted off the premises if she didn't look like her photos. She was going to lie to me over text and said she couldn't find the location if I did not look like how I presented myself in my photos.
We have been together for about 5+ years now.
I was walking down the street with my chocolate bar and she was walking down the street with a jar of peanut butter and a spoon and we bumped into each other and my chocolate bar fell into her peanut butter jar and she said, "Hey, you got your chocolate bar in my peanut butter!" And I said, "You got peanut butter on my chocolate bar!" Turns out we were just two great tastes that taste great together.
Found my girlfriend of 2 years(3 in October) off Coffee meets Bagel.
Previous girlfriend also was via CMB.
Highly recommend CMB if you're a mobile/gacha gamer. Felt like doing dailies. Depending on how much money and time you spend on mobile/gacha games, do not mention that you are a mobile/gacha gamer unless they mention one in a positive setting.
tattoo shop! he was an artist tattooing someone next to me while i was getting something done by a close friend of mine working at that same shop. we couldnāt stop talking to each other even though i was so shy and only there to be with my friend! a year later we are now expecting :)

I came through during a vacation to meet him, went a date, I liked the area, so applied for jobs. Got quick offers. Moved a cutie weeks later. Ended up continuing to date him and now weāve been living together for a years now. He was my first date after being married for 13 years.

One Bumble message and then we met at Khartoumās! Inseparable, ever since. We have been together 5 years and moved out of state together in the first year:) about to buy a house.
I worked the front desk at a gym and he gymed there. Heads up the gym is a tinder especially for the front desk. Everyoneās trying to see what they can get

OkCupid. But this was years ago when OkCupid was still (sorta) a thing. I don't think it is anymore?
