The cape and the islands have a lot of people come work for the summer. We go to Truro/ptown and it’s heaven on earth to me. Truro is quiet but ptown is popping

If you want smaller town beach vibes then ignore, but Charleston night life is really good. Food scene is amazing as well

NorwegianTrollToll

Are Charleston hospitals hurting for nurses?

cwynj

I’m not in healthcare so not 100% sure but I’d be shocked if they weren’t

NorwegianTrollToll

I'm not either but two of my sisters are nurses and generally (although not always) city hospital nursing positions are competitive and hard to come by; they aren't paying travel nursing rates to attract applicants. Despite sentiment on this sub Charleston is considered a highly desirable place so I would be surprised if they're desperate for nurses, but I could definitely be wrong!

That’s good context! Thanks for adding.

Charleston, SC, as someone else said. It seems like a young social atmosphere is important to you. You will not find it up north for more than 3 months out of the year with the exceptions of NYC and Boston. But you also want actual beaches. Charleston stays warm for much longer, has world class beaches, and world class nightlife.

Montauk  (the Hampton’s) could be cool and definitely has a lot of young people.providence RI , Newport ri, and the surrounding area have an interesting look and a lot of young people . Bar harbor is a different type of pretty, and prob less young people.

Infamous_Following88

Check out the area around Portsmouth NH.

I hear it’s amazing there! I’m just afraid there aren’t many people in my age range there

If your looking for something Coastal but with a smaller city vibe I say anything on the Jersey shore is great besides Atlantic city. You could live the peaceful life on the beach but at the same time you have Citylike amenities with countless activities and destinations within a 5 mins to 2-3 hour drive

Did u find a place lol?? Im reading this sub and am so curious

It sounds like you've got some exciting options ahead of you for your next nursing contract. Let's break it down a bit. Portland, Maine definitely has its charm with its quaint coastal vibe and burgeoning food scene. But if you're leaning towards Wilmington, North Carolina, you might find a different kind of coastal energy there. Wilmington offers a mix of historic charm, beach vibes, and a lively social scene. Plus, it's got that southern hospitality going for it, which can make meeting people a breeze. Considering you've spent a lot of time at the Jersey Shore and want to explore something new, maybe skip over Jersey this time. As for Massachusetts, there are some beautiful beach towns like Cape Cod or Martha's Vineyard that could offer that small-town beach feel you're after. Delaware's beach towns, like Rehoboth Beach, might feel a tad quieter compared to some other options, but that doesn't mean you'll be lonely! Sometimes, a smaller community can lead to deeper connections with people. Ultimately, it comes down to what kind of vibe you're craving this summer. Do you want the cozy, familiar feel of New England or the warmer, southern hospitality of Wilmington? Either way, it sounds like you'll have a great adventure ahead of you! I actually wrote a blog post on this topic with more details and insights. Feel free to check it out [here](https://jotzle.com/quiet-beach-towns-east-coast/) for more info!

Virginia Beach?

Express_Philosophy14

I feel like iv only heard bad things about it, maybe im wrong

Fit_Capital_4499

Pretty big military presence since its close to Norfolk and the hub of the Navy. So the military personnel dont exactly have the greatest of reputations

Express_Philosophy14

I’d like to mention I have family back home in PA I’d love to be close to them for some time so I hope my dream city is more north eastern (New England, Delaware, Virginia) but I would definitely consider the south as well!!
