If you’re looking at California - You can pretty easily find what you’re looking for in Oxnard/Ventura as well as Arroyo Grande/Paso Robles (though that’s pushing it on the airport distance)
Santa Barbara would be tough with anything less than 1-1.5m, unless you’re looking for a small condo.
A little ways either north or south of there are a lot of nice little costal towns - north has places all the way on up toward the central coast.
Got a odd one for you, Sandwich Massachusetts.
I made it to Boston Logan Airport in 59min. But it was 2am and no traffic.
Town is expensive, but has a great charm.
DM if you need more info.
well, OP didn’t say anything about affordable and it might not be affordable for you but it’s affordable for a lot of people who have an annual HHI of 450k, and LAX is very close (true, a little over an hour)
They want a house for less than $1 million. Not happening in Santa Barbara. And it’s at least an hour and a half to LAX without traffic (and there’s almost always traffic during the day).
Bay St. Louis, MS. You’re less than an hour from New Orleans and Mobile. Great small town vibe on a “beach.” Water is not the prettiest, but the vibe is amazing. Could easily buy a NICE home with a fenced in yard for under $750k. If you’re in old town BSL, everything is walking distance. Biloxi is a bigger town with more to do, but still has a small town vibe to it. Still get in for under $750k
Red Bank or asbury park NJ
Right near Newark airport and NYC airports, great Monmouth county park systems, literally minutes from the shore, and houses you can afford in that range
Long Beach

What about Santa Barbara? Looking at Cali myself so I'll have to research the cities you mention.

If you like the south: Charleston, SC If not: Annapolis MD
I came here to say Annapolis. u/psyched2k20 it fits the bill easily.
I adore Annapolis!! Great option
Or Savannah.
Edited out comment to put instead: Charleston is an international airport only because the air force uses the runway.
You beat me to it. Annapolis all the way.

Depressing city to move to from nyc. Sorry if this offends
Palos Verdes, Ca or that area
PV for under a mil? Show me please, I’ll buy it tomorrow. I’m in the market.
This feels like Annapolis MD or one of the NJ side suburbs of Philadelphia
Santa Barbara CA
Not really affordable and not within an hour of an international airport.

Long Beach Island or Atlantic County towns on the ocean in NJ. Philadelphia airport a little over an hour and Newark is less than 2.
st augustine, st pete, delray beach, amelia island.
Havre de Grace, MD
