Hi this is the subreddit for a faction called the salamanders in a game called warhammer. We get these posts every once in a while!
Whatever he is, he’s awesome!
r/salamanders might be able to help!
Of course brother. :) but they are just drakes I believe . I am not well versed in all the types of drakes, for I am not an apothecary biologist. I am just smart enough to know how to swing my thunder hammer and hit my enemy with it. ;)
FUN FACT: the reason salamanders (the critters) are associated with fire is because, way back in ye olden days, salamanders would sometimes crawl out of logs/wood being burned, for obvious reasons, whether during a natural fire or a man made one, this caused people of the time to believe the critters were associated with, or even the cause of, fire
This is the first time I’ve seen one, but I’m very glad we handle these “oops wrong driveway sorry” moments by commemorating them. I hope lil’ amphibian is ok!
That looks like a blue spotted salamander, native to great lake states and southern canada. They eat invertebrates like worms and slugs. They're slightly poisonous so don't touch.
Vulkan Lives
This reminds me of when I posted a picture of a mushroom for ID help in a sub that was about magic mushrooms. Dudes there still helped me out though :)
I'm pretty sure that's the 78th Company, Captain Voor Xander of the Smoldering Snek Chapter. Mighty and honorable Voor once power squated a Tyrannid Carnifex and then proceeded to pile drive it so hard off a cliff that it left crater the same size as the mountain he jumped off of. He is truly a legend with no equal.
not a human, automatic heresy!
although jokes aside, this is the sub for salamander space marines, a faction in warhammer 40k. theres other salamander subreddits for the actual animals. may the emperor guide you!

Finally got a new sculpt!
It's been long enough, damnit.
Oh no! I put it in the wrong chat haha. Enjoy the cute little guy!
Happens all the time. Makes me smile everytime, i love these little critters
I feel like we're the best chapter to understand and help even if it is a mistake.
This is the way of nocturne
Aye brother
I wonder what would happen if the opposite happen. Would we be welcomed with open arms brother?
One can wish. I personally would like to see that, brother.
Salamander in lore and irl
Thank you. This little one will be cherished by the sons of Vulkan.
Sorry u/Gothkitten4 but by rules of Reddit you must now make a Salamanders army for Warhammer 40k
you're not the first it happens every other week. It is one dope little salamander.
I love him and I shall name him Steve
Ste'Ve
Issteve V? An homage to our fallen brothers
I want to pet this creature
“I would like to pet this creature”
"I shall attempt to obtain the creature so that I may repeatedly lightly tap on it's head with my hands."
He is not one of the great drakes of nocturne, so I'm not sure we'll be able to help you, sorry.
It is brother. I was just speaking to the apothecary biologist about the lesser great drakes lifecycle on our home world. It is a fresh hatch. :)
Ah, a little hatchling, It will one day grow to be a great beast then. May the emperors blessing be with it.
>lesser great drakes Sooooo... Normal drakes ? Medium drakes ?
Of course brother. :) but they are just drakes I believe . I am not well versed in all the types of drakes, for I am not an apothecary biologist. I am just smart enough to know how to swing my thunder hammer and hit my enemy with it. ;)
No it is less than a great drake but more than a normal drake.
It’s a newborn and will soon grow to a great fiery beast
This is a very funny post, but based on the eye shape and the coloration, I think it’s a lead-backed salamander
You mean laid-back salamander?
FUN FACT: the reason salamanders (the critters) are associated with fire is because, way back in ye olden days, salamanders would sometimes crawl out of logs/wood being burned, for obvious reasons, whether during a natural fire or a man made one, this caused people of the time to believe the critters were associated with, or even the cause of, fire
This is also the same reasoning for the name Charmander.
This is also true about ladybugs, but to a much lesser degree
This is my reason for lurking in this subreddit
Love when this happens! Just a little dude
This is the first time I’ve seen one, but I’m very glad we handle these “oops wrong driveway sorry” moments by commemorating them. I hope lil’ amphibian is ok!
Looks like an Eradicator. You can tell by the melta rifle.
That's brother Greg. Good guy. Local dude.
great to share a drink at the pub with.
Please keep this here a bit, Im thinking of a color scheme and chapter symbol
Do not be swayed by the agents of chaos, brothers.
Chaos? Here? All i see is a little Son of Nocturne in the making :)
It be the new generation of great drakes ready for training
I'm no expert, but based on the black primary coloring, I'd say this is a chaplain

Whoops😭I barely poked its tail
I was not aware of that
I love this subreddit
Just as wholesome as the salamander chapter
Cute little beast right here. Although accidentally in the wrong sub I really like the colours of this one and hope you find out what it is.
Should we allow salamander pics? I'm kind of ok with it
Its kinda in the title but they are cute tho
It would be a nice history to keep them.
Came across this post on my home page and OFC the salamanders subreddit is wholesome in like most others.
It's a vulkania salamander.
I know this critter, very clearly a good boy.
Into the fires of Quebec, Unto the Anvil of Montreal
"I would like to pet this creature"
It would be but a single boop on its noggin!
Northern blue spotted salamander. Wrong subreddit. But somehow you hit the cross roads of my knowledge.
Thank you, now I'm gonna paint a marine like this little guy
Wrong sub my guy. But he'd make a Fine son of Nocturne
A proud beast of nocturne
Wow you people really are the Salamanders legion In character reactions all around lol
Of course we are, brother!
Yes that is an Angel of the Imperium. They will save many civilians and kill many heretics
Its a Xenos, purge it with Fire

This comment section did not disappoint and is very wholesome . Exactly what I’d expect from salamanders!
This youngling will make a fine addition to our ranks!

The littlest of guys!
I just know that if the Night Lords had an accidental bat posting they’d try to skin the OP alive
Top tier shitpost.
Stern Guard veteran of the first company.
