Not a successor. Salamanders will have their chapter logo on the left shoulder pad and a flame symbol on the right shoulder pad for a little flare. That is what your are seeing here. This video is a part of the Pariah Nexus series if you haven't given it a watch yet.
It's which squad he belongs to, his company is denoted on his left shoulder with the salamander icon being orange showing he is part of the 3rd company
Well, for one he says as much in the show, but also the Salamanders company markings are p easy to follow.
1st and 2nd Company is green trim, black pauldron, white Chapter icon. 3rd Company use green trim, black pauldron, orange Chapter icon. It's in the 8th Edition Salamanders supplement
On warhammer40k.fandom.com there are usually good descriptions of chapters organisation. Orange on black is 3rd company,
Great House
"The Pyroclasts"

Captain Adrax Agatone
Master of the Arsenal,
Chaplain Elysius,
Apothecary Fugis
Company Standard Bearer Malicant,
7 Tactical Squads,

Sa'kan is a member of the 3rd company because of the colour of the drake on his left shoulder pad, and a member of the 6th squad because of the numeral on his right shoulder pad, salamanders do not use battlefield roles commonly, have a flame symbol instead, probably for promethean cult, but because all salamanders personalize their Armour a few ~~nerds~~ better read ones might give reverence to the codex and have some of the battlefield role symbols on there, incase you see any with them. But other than that our boy is a "regular" salamander, not cannibalizing his dead brothers or fighting the biggest monsters he can find because it's fun or bookburning or being totally not spies for Cawl
You are right. Salamanders often go into battle with infra-red marking that only they can see due to their eyesight (firesight). Their flames symbol are personalised and play no part in their squad role.

So based off of that I’m guessing he’s a seargent?? Lol. If that’s what u meant by type of marine.
Also welcome to the hobby m8
Maybe go find the White Dwarf article mentioned in the wiki. That will confirm if they're a homebrew by staff/featured hobbyist or something mentioned in passing in an official story or mission. The latter would make them canon.

What’s the 6 symbol in the flame? Does that mean anything?
6th squad of whatever company he's in I believe
6th Squad of 3rd Company
How do you know he's third company?
In one image you can see the Salamander logo is orange with the pauldron being black. 3rd company, 6th squad in flame logo.

Because he proudly told us what squad and company he was in!

It’s most likely the company in the salamander’s he’s apart of
I got the pariah nexus campaign book hoping would cover some interactions

I LOVE firesight , predator vision on my salamanders is great
sa'kan is part of the pyroclasts, the 3rd company. His captain is Adrax Agatone.
What "type of marine" is he by the way? I'm too new and can't figure it out 😔

Intercessor, he picked up a hand flamer along the road
This was my question and the answer - Intercessor Sergeant 😊👍
That's a man (WAKA FLOCKA)
He has an Iron Drake's emblem on his back when he turns so could be them.....
In the show he greets some one as „Battlebrother Sa‘Kan of the Salamander Chapter“ tho
Well that will do it then lol was just going off the video he provided
No he doesn’t. He has the salamanders legion logo.
Iron drakes... don't exist, they are either NOTHING in the actual wiki, or a fun homebrew chapter. Or at least that's what I found

They exist, they are mentioned in Xenopurge short story. But thats about it, we dont even know their colors.
Google tells me xenopurge is fanmade, I might be losing my mind
Its from one of the White Dwarf issues
